- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2021I fell in love with CM Radcliff’s work years ago and have consumed anything she has put out FAST! I loved the way this story was, but i felt like it was missing something. The jumping forward every few chapters may have been the cause of that but I’m
Not sure. I can’t wait to read the next one! I still enjoyed the story so much and finished this in 2 days!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2022The story begins by introducing you to Killian and Ainsley. Killian has spent several years in the foster system until he is taken in by Ainsley’s parents. Ainsley seems to have it all. She’s beautiful, comes from a seemingly perfect home, and has money. However, things aren’t always as perfect as they seem.
Killian is no stranger to drugs, and uses them occasionally. Ainsley, however, uses them as an escape. Killian starts out wanting to destroy Ainsley for being a fraud (given that he thinks she has this perfect life). However, they quickly start to fall for each other.
Unfortunately, Ainsley’s supplier isn’t as happy to see them together, and issues some threats, which Killian can’t ignore. But the more he tries to stay away from Ainsley, the more she spirals.
This was a good first book in this series. There is a good bit of spice, and the story is very different. In fact, the only reason I gave it three stars was because there were a number of grammatical errors. If it weren’t for those, this would easily be a 4-star read!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2023This book gripped me from page 1 until the end. Killians had a rough life and being placed with the Sinclairs is no different. That's where he meets Ainsley, his new stepsister. He hates her on principle, thinking she's throwing away her life and everything she has for a high. This romance battles addiction and is slightly taboo, but the spice is incredible. It was difficult to read at times with the heavy subjects, but it was also an incredibly well written story. Intrigued for the next book
- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2022These characters will bury themselves in your soul and you will forever be changed! You'll find yourself screaming at them in frustration at their decisions. You'll be cheering them on even when it seems all is lost! Your heart will break right along with theirs! CM Radcliff has written a story so authentic and raw! I need to read the next book asap as much as I need the oxygen in my lungs!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2021Wow! We are just scratching the surface here. Just beginning Ainsley and Killian’s story and I’m already in love with this series. I love CM Ratcliff and what she does with her stories. Her characters are always beautifully flawed, complex and gritty. They have struggles and the way she writes it just makes me melt into the story. It’s interesting and intriguing and I can’t put the book down.
What I love about Killian and Ainsley are they are all of these. Killian is broken by years of foster care when he seems like he’s finally been handed a bit of a break, headed to a new placement in a well to do family that seems almost too good to be true. Ainsley seems like perfection from the outside looking in. She’s beautiful, comes from money, and seems to have the perfect family. That’s the way she projects herself as well. But Killian has this ability to see through her facade and see the dark and nasty parts of herself she hides from others, and yet he still wants her. What started for him as a plot of revenge, quickly became something so much more than he could have prepared himself for. When outsiders begin to threaten what they have been building, Ainsley and Killian begin to crumble. The struggles are all too real for them. This is book one in this new Dazed series and has some pretty heavy topics, but they are handled with the utmost care to the storyline. Start this book today!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2021It was okay, but kinda cheesy. I was difficult to keep reading when Ainsley started calling Killian “Baby boy”. It got kinda cringey after that point for me and I didn’t even finish the book.

When I tell you that this author writes a 𝘵𝘰𝘹𝘪𝘤 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱 in such a real way, I 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 forget that these are characters. It’s like watching a 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 in slow motion, but one that I’m definitely not looking away from.

4.0 out of 5 stars Broken characters together
Well if you want a book with two broken characters this is certainly it. Killian and Ainsley are both so broken, so jaded by circumstances that they both seem to have lost touch with reality. I got poor little rich girl vibes from Ainsley to start... But I feel there is so much more to her than that.
Killian is also a product of circumstances. Two broken people finding love together... But will they only break themselves further?
Intriguing, disjointed, broken, frustrating are words that come to mind with this book!
This book ends on a what happens next that leaves you wanting more.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not at all good
I am all good with toxicity abusive and rammy stories... But this is too much... All drugs and no basic story... There is no point where u feel that they r actually in love... It's like they both are always high and want a release.... All the hype was fake and if we talk about spice... This spice is not what we r looking for.... Ainsley cannot breathe without drugs in her system and he plays along.... I can never be okay with such things this is hell too much

4.0 out of 5 stars Good… missing umph!
I can’t wait to see wheee this goes.
I feel like it lacked a little plot. But the drug addictions and the foster brother romance really was the main focus on the book.
I’m hoping book 2 focuses on a bigger plot line and story line!
I have this 4.25 ⭐️

3.0 out of 5 stars mehhhh… I’ll give it a 3.5*
A lot of this book cringed me out.. the whole book just shouts ‘I’m writing this book but I’m putting no extra work to understand the plot, wing it & hope for the best’ - what was the plot actually? A step sibling romance? Or was it just kids playing with drugs with no serious effects?
The author lacked knowledge of drugs.. heroin is not dope, Mandy is not pills.. I think if your writing a book where drug use is the main plot, then you need educated yourself on the types of drugs, the reactions, the side effects, the addiction. Heroin is not dope, Mandy are not pills, nobody takes ‘potent heroin’ & has the mental capacity to drive themselves home & carry on like normal.
There was no sexual chemistry during these spicy scenes, just a girl giving head for tabs.. just a late night quickie.
I didn’t feel the emotions of them falling in love..
The h was annoying… a 17 year old with mummy & daddy issues.. exchanging sexual favours for drugs..
the H - a lost soul in the care system, easily lead astray, somehow got sucked down into a hole by h..
Also - Baby boy? Ew ew ew. Cringe pet name! Worst pet name I’ve come across.
