    I’m not sure how to review this book. It’s a marriage contract but the wife’s family is hardly mentioned except that they’re considered royalty. MIA is taking on the wife to be roll after her sister is believed to be dead.
    Alessio is the boss’s choice for a successor but they’re not related and eventually they’ll be problems with this.
    It’s not a bad story. Gave me instalove kind of vibes. It’s the first in the series and is told in dual POV with an epilogue and HEA.

    Not a bad story, but not the greatest either. It had potential, but failed in execution. An alliance of two mafia famiglias, to be secured by marriage between the Ricci's eldest daughter, Carmela, and Alessio Salvatore, underboss of the Costa famiglia. But when Carmela dissapears and is presumed dead, Mia is brought home to step into that role. There was attraction when these two first met, before the first arranged marriage. But Mia struggles with her attraction, the loss of her sister, and wanting out of the mafia life. She's tired of the violence and death. Alessio wants Mia, cares for her, but struggles with his loyalty to his mafia don, a man who's been like a father to him and what his wife wants.

    I love a mafia romance that has a plot other than just the romance. It adds some excitement and danger to the story. But this one was all over the place..too many things going on and none of them developed enough to make sense or make it exciting. It was all just too much. Additionally, while I liked Mia, I really got tired of her hot and cold. She knew the life, grew up in it, so she either loved him and accepted him or she didn't...but please, make up your mind.

    Honestly, I stuck it out up to the 65% mark but then she got cold again; I just couldn't take any more and started skimming through it to see how it ended. 3.5 stars.

    I really really really enjoyed this book. Sometimes the sex in a book can keep the momentum going and that gets boring after a while or the story captivates you and the story actually kept me engaged and I did not want to but this book down. Mia, I have to admit, in the beginning annoyed me to hell, however, tremendous growth with her character. Alessio, man after my own heart, he is such a ZADDY, even though it took Mia forever to see who he really is.

    I loved the journey the author took me on as I was glued to everything unfolding, half way through the book I went and purchase ‘TAKEN’ the second book that’s how invested I was in this series and whose next. The moment Alessio and Mia finally came together, I did not lose interest and I liked that as the author definitely gave me my money’s worth.

    THE BAD
    I really don’t have anything bad as the good definitely out weighs the bad.

    OVERALL
    Overall, for me good read and it goes with my personally taste on what I love to read in my books. If you are definitely a fan of the mafia romance, this will be a good read.

    Six months after burying her sister, Mia had to deal with the fact she was next in line to marry Alessio to join two mafia families. Not the greatest way to start a relationship - first with an arranged marriage and then to your sister’s fiancé.

    Alessio was being groomed to take over the Costa mafia family. The head passed over his son and other relatives to choose Alessio who was not a blood relative. Think that might be a problem?

    Alessio and Mia are steaming hot together. He is, as he put it, a “Prince Charming” with her and an *sshole to everyone else. The dynamics of their relationship alone is engaging, but the story also interested me with just the right amount of danger, shooting, beating a few deserving folks up, kidnapping, exotic dancers, some stitches and shrapnel. In other words, a great mafia romance!
