Ayil: Dark Warrior Alliance Book 18 Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 274 ratings

Ayil, a powerful warrior angel, is on a mission to discover if a Phoenix clan is working with demons. Unfortunately, his plan goes south the moment he meets Kennex, an irresistible clan member who unknowingly possesses demonic energy. When he sees evidence she was attacked, Ayil can’t resist intervening on her behalf, despite the fact his actions threaten his task, as well as, the very foundations of Heaven and angelkind. Kennex vowed long ago to never trust angels. Her experiences taught her they're as controling and manipulative as any demon, some even more so. When her tormentuous past hunts her down and stakes a claim on her body and soul, she's forced to rethink her strategy and seek alliance with Ayil, a sexy warrior angel. The thin line between love and hate quickly blurs as attraction blazes between them. Will Ayil's mission succeed and possibly destroy Kennex's clan, or will his desire for the alluring Phoenix lead him down the rabbit hole of self-destruction? They say love conquers all. This time it just might.

The very foundations of Heaven and angelkind is threatened when Ayil intervenes on a Phoenix's behalf in this thrilling and exciting romance. Ayil and Kennex are two strong, charismatic characters that readers can’t help but enjoy as Kennex who has every reason in the world to mistrust angels begins to open her heart to Ayil which makes the romance very intersting as readers anticipate the outcome, especially since Ayil's doesn't know if he can trust her. The road to their happily ever after is an emotional one with some explosive chemistry that pulls them together despite their many objections. While this story may focus mainly on the angels and phoenix, it does give intriguing glimpses into what’s happening in the lives of the warriors and the Angel’s Kiss drug, which unfortunately has the story concluding in an epilogue with a major cliffhanger. The story is a fast paced, exciting romance that keeps readers glued to the pages as they await to discover if love really does conquer all as Ayil continues his mission into who's working with the demons and Kennex is fighting to overcome her past who has found her once again. Thrilling suspense, adrenaline pumping action and passionate exchanges ensures that here is never a dull moment to be found throughout Ayil and Kennex’s fascinating romance.

Trim and Julka have done it again. The story about Ayil and Kennex is great. The Dark Warrior Alliance series is a fantastic series these two women Trim and Julka still manage to give you a fresh look at the warriors and their mates. Throughout the book, there were two stories going on at the same time. You can tell that the next book is brewing already. I have read every one of Trim and Julka's books and they never get old. I start them and finish ASAP. Can't wait to see what is coming next.

Loved this book as,well as all the others in the series . Love between an Angel and a Phoenix is explosive ! It has some physical abuse in the story that might trigger memories so beware . This is an honest review without any reparations from the author or publisher . The sexual content is not so for adults only . Loved it and hope you will too ! Kudos to the authors !!!!

It's easy to tell that a lot of time and energy went into the story. I love the characters and I love how it comes together but it was a bit distracting to always Segway 2 What the Wizards were doing. I get that it's kind of a continuing Saga but it almost seems like it's two separate books put together with one of them finishing and one of them not. Also the editing is problematic for me. Some sentences lead you somewhere but leave out key words or key ideas. Also is it angels or Angel's?? I wish it hadn't ended in my opinion rather abruptly because it was a really good build-up and kind of so short at the end. All in all a really good story

Kennex really had such a bad introduction to sex. Jared is a horrible angel. How did he ever get to become one? Any angel that beats & rapes someone should be a fallen angel. I hope Kara learned her lesson too. She should have never let Jared go without being punished or banished from heaven. I love how Aiyl had to really work to get her to even talk to him. Kennex was a real challenge for him. Poor girl she was verbally, sexually & physically abused. And lets face it Aiyl had never been in a relationship. He was really out of his comfort zone! This is such a self less romance story. Wait till you read what finally go them to say I love you!

This Dark Warrior world is outstanding! The characters are brilliant!
Ayil and Kennex didn't get along the first time they met. The second time seemed to be filled with hatred. But what appears to be isn't always what reality is.
Kennex hates all angels due to the actions of one. Ayil believes that she could be in league with the demons who are trying to bring Lucifer to the human realm.
Can they get past their preconceived ideas and learn to get along? Or are they destined to use each other for their own purposes and hurt the other in the process?
We got to see a few of the Dark Warriors and sorcerers as they embark on a their own mission to get rid of a new threat to the realm.
I look forward to when Ayil's brothers find someone special.

After 18 books most series get boring and repetitive but not this series. It's enough of its own story while still touching on the the characters you know and love that keeps you coming back for more. Not many authors can keep people book with page turning feeling like it there can't put it down yet these two continue to deliver. It's a must read.

Loved this book about Ayil and Kennex. I am glad for closure on Jared and you will be too.
As you probably know, Ayil is a Warrior Angel and one of Illianna's brothers. When he and his brothers are sent to check out suspected demon activity in a clan of phoenixes in Arizona, love is the last thing Ayil was looking for. Even though Kennex drew his attention, she was beautiful after all, it was obvious she hated him on sight.

Kennex has not had good luck when it came to angels. She fell for Jared and ended up having to run from the abusive angel and she is not happy when he manages to find her in California. She decides that getting close to Ayil is her chance to get rid of Jared once and for all. But when she finds herself falling for the guy she is not sure about her plan anymore.

We also get a taste of Evzen's story which is coming next. I was a little disappointed in this one as it seemed that everything moved too fast. I was expecting a little more from Kennex and Ayil in the build up department, but I guess when you get to book 18 you start running out of ideas for catastrophes and such, lol.

Though I love all the stories I this series, I had a hard time starting it. I knew it would be wonderful; full of action, intense attraction, and interesting advances in the overall storyline. I was absolutely correct, though I was also correct that it would be intense, heavy, and pull at my heartstrings. While usually I feel that those last few qualities I hence a story, I’m currently almost 6 months pregnant with crazy hormones. Lol.

I really enjoyed the first few books in this series, but eventually it got bit by the same bug as all other long series. The longer they drag it out the more asinine some of the scenes get. I literally skipped 70% of this one because all the players kept making stupid decisions left and right. Even so-called angels are completely clueless.

Why can’t good writers know when to call a halt, eh?
