    I absolutely devoured the Stonewall Investigations series and was so excited when I found the Miami spinoff series. I couldn't one click it fast enough! The chemistry and connection between Fox & Jonah was fervent from the very start. They were clearly meant to be together.

    I will say, the book was a little slow moving for me. Even unrealistic at times. Which is ok to a point because it's a book, but to be able to really get into it, for me personally, it needed to be a little more real. The first 40 percent of the book revolved around one day & night. It got to the point I didn't think that day was ever going to end LOL. Though the attraction is strong from the start, the actual romance doesn't happen until closer to the end of the book.

    I really did enjoy reading Bad Idea and am in no way trying to leave a negative impact about it. There's plently of suspense & action from the case they're trying to crack, funny one liners, and HOT sex scenes when they finally gave into all that raging passion. I'll definitely continue reading the series and other books from Max Walker.

    Fox and Jonah are really something together, i could feel their connection and their desires. The author really created a compelling story-line with a surprising bad guy and lots of twists and turns along the way. The complexity of the story was satisfying and the development of the other detectives set me up for wanting more of this series. I cannot wait for where these stories take us next.

    I found this author to be quite good. His ability to create characters that were really believable was great.
    And, the developing love story between the characters, one who had been straight all his life, was both believable in some ways, and not in others.

    However, I love action adventure MM books and had high hopes that this book series about a detective agency investigating crimes would have a lot of action and suspense. Unfortunately, the story shifted back to the relationship of the two main characters so often that the case they were investigating took a back seat during the entire story.

    So, this book series seems to be more MM relationship stories and less action adventure. And, like the other books of the series; "Lie With Me", and "His First Surrender" (SEE MY REVIEWS OF THOSE BOOKS), this book contained far too many descriptive play by play sex scenes, I mostly had to skim over.

    Although I gave the books in the series following this book, 2 stars, I'm giving this book 3 stars because the author is so good at creating the characters in the imaginations of his readers!

    I really liked the location of this mystery/romance, Miami is an unusual setting for a detective novel. The romance was a really good setup with well-defined characters that made sense. Would have liked a bit more emphasis on the mystery part, but the premise was good and the bad guy was a surprise. Already started the next installment through the preview at the end of the book, I may even like the second in the series better than the first.

    Now I will start by saying I was super sad when the original Stonewall series ended but when I found out we had a spin off series it made my day. I love the authors way of telling a story. I love that we get to laugh along with them and then we are on the edge of our seats wondering what happens next. Loved Fox and Jonah. Such a well written story and I am so looking forward to the next books in the series.

    Gabriel and Jonah are such likeable characters, they literally stole my heart from the moment I started reading the book. This is a follow on to the author's successful Stonewall series, this first book of the new series proved a promising beginning.

    I really enjoyed their story. They were both drawn to each other, but they both had their own reasons for keeping their distance. I loved the initial push and pull of their relationship.

    The characters were well-matched, both perfect for one another. Jonah, is the victim of an attack that has left him anxiety riddled, Gabriel's gentleness with Jonah, coupled with his patience was wonderful to read.

    There are a lot of intense and serious moments, as well as a lot of laughter in the story, this, coupled with the mystery, the two men are working on, makes for a decent read. 4 and a half stars.
