"Rachel Kramer Bussel has quickly become my favorite author and editor and when you read this book it's easy to see why. Her works always reflect real sex with real people, not fantasies written by those who've never experienced them. If you have never had the pleasure of reading one of her works, I highly recommend you don't put it off any longer. I promise you won't be disappointed."

--Madison Kink
"The stories are well written and surprising. They are personal and political, and each one pushes taboo and reminds us that sex is much stranger and more varied than we think."
--The Daily Californian

-Weekly Alibi
"We humans can eroticize anything. Feeling better? You should. And whether you're an erotica regular, a dedicated lover, a dirty squeeze, or an orgasm virgin."
--San Francisco Bay Guardian
"This is one of Bussel's best!"
From the Inside Flap
As Barbara Carrellas writes, there are so many types of orgasms, more than any single book could cover, but within these pages, you will not only find numerous types of orgasms, as well as the varied characters who experience them, you will also discover different motivations for getting off. Some have a tried and true method, some are willing to take a chance on a new sexual practice--or partner. Some of these characters orgasm frequently; some are aching for the chance to share their body with another person. Some let their orgasms be controlled by a lover; some actively take control of their climaxes.
"You amaze me," the nameless protagonist of B.D. Swain's opening story "The Beginning" proclaims. You--readers, authors, orgasmers--amaze me with your boundless sexual hunger and creativity. I've been writing and editing erotica for over a decade, but part of why it never gets old is because of the richness, diversity and nuance I find in the stories that come (no pun intended) my way. They fuel my own imagination and show me that I can always learn more about orgasm, about desire, about sex.
The format of 1,200 words or less means these are extremely short stories, but I hope you'll find, like I did, that what they lack in length they make up for in hotness. As with my previous short-short anthology Gotta Have It: 69 Stories of Sudden Sex, all the pieces you hold in your hand, even the shortest ones ("The Park," by Elise Hepner, clocks in at 249 words; "Her Lover Is a Flame," by Cecilia Tan, at 308) offer a snapshot of eroticism that draws you completely into its folds. You might consider each one a teaser, an appetizer, the beginning of a fantasy world you can place yourself into and choose your own orgasmic adventure as you consider where the story might go after the last word printed on the page.
Sometimes less is more, and if these stories leave you wanting to see them continued, that's a good thing. They are, like the narrative in Swain's opener states, "just the beginning." Very likely you'll find a type of orgasm, a sex toy, a scenario, a position, or a fantasy you'd like to see represented here that may not be. If so, please write yours and continue the conversation. If your orgasm doesn't look or feel the way these characters' climaxes do, that's perfectly okay. I want to see us expand the possibilities for pleasure, orgasmic and otherwise, not add to the umpteen ways we're told we "should" orgasm or have sex. Just as a physical orgasm, however you define or experience that sensation, doesn't define the end of a sexual encounter, a literary orgasm should not mean you are done interacting with the story. I've re-read these pieces, and the numerous submissions I received for this book, multiple times, and each read offers me something new to consider. I envision The Big Book of Orgasms as one you'll want to revisit, to pick up and read aloud from your favorites to a lover, to keep next to your bed, to tuck into your travel bag.
I'm especially pleased to be publishing so many authors in this collection for the first time in one of my anthologies. There is a power and depth to these voices that I hope resonates with you.

New York City
From the Back Cover
Dr. Ruth once said legendary editor Rachel Kramer Bussel "is only satisfied if you come and come again." Bussel, the editor of the bestsellers Orgasmic and Gotta Have It, has captured 69 top erotica writers serving up steamy scenarios all focused on the Big O. The characters in The Big Book of Orgasms have fun exploring their desires and reaching new depths of pleasure with lovers who range from sweet to sweetly kinky.
A man's sexy strut incites a woman to take matters "In Her Hands" in Tenille Brown's story, while the narrator of Emerald's "Payback" rekindles an old flame and ignites a spectacular passion. Bussel's own searing "I'm on Fire" reveals all the pleasures to be gained through obedience. These are climaxes you'll want to relive more than once.

THEBEGINNING
B. D. Swain
Tell me what you want. Show me what you like. Letme watch you fuck yourself. I want to study you. Iwant to learn all about you and never stop learning. Iused to be the kind of cocky butch dyke who pouncedand wanted to have my way, but I've learned to take mytime with a new lover. So sit me down right here. Strapmy ankles to the chair legs. Secure my wrists behindmy back. Leave the lights on bright. Make sure I seeeverything. Sit down in front of me. Touch me. Show mewhat interests you.
I am bound tightly to the chair. She loosens my tieand runs a fingertip inside my collar. I close my eyeswhile she focuses on me. I feel her on my shirt buttons. Her fingers drag across my collarbones and up to thestiff muscles in my neck. She pushes my shirt downmy shoulders and slips the tie completely off. I feel herbreath, hot on my shoulder. Now I feel her lips. Herfingers find the hair under my arms and pull at it, pet it.She nudges me with her nose and tells me I have a sexyscent. I shift a little in my chair. She is so slow in herinterrogation. I am getting impatient for my lessons.
She explores me with her mouth while her handscrawl down my back, my shoulder blades. Her tonguepushes into the weight of my breast. I feel her teethwanting to bite me. I sit up tall. Her fingers dig deep, climbing slowly up my back, over my shoulders anddown my chest. One whole hand covers my breast. Shelicks me through her fingers. "Hurt me," I say. "You canbe rough. I'll let you know if it's too much." She pinchesme hard—harder than I expect. It gets me wet immediatelyand I groan in my throat with the pleasure of it.
Suddenly her teeth are on my nipple and the pain isstinging. She grabs at my belt and undoes it. She fumbleswith my pants and jerks them down but suddenly stops. She moves away from me completely and my handssuddenly strain at being bound. My fingers reach intothe air blindly. She is behind me now, and her fingersthread through my hair. One hand tugs a little at myear. She kisses the top of my head and tells me to openmy eyes. She leans over me and lets her hands fall. Theyslide down my chest all the way to my thighs where sheballs up the fabric of my trousers and growls, saying,"You almost let me move too quickly."
She circles the chair and stands right in front of meas she unbuttons her blouse. She peels off her bra andtosses it onto my lap. She turns around and bends over, pushing her pants down with her ass teasingly near myface.
She is so simply and lovingly unashamed in this brightlight. She stands there and lets me take it in, watchingmy eyes look at her. I am grateful for her. I am so gratefulthat I fear I might cry and be misunderstood.
She sits on my lap, snapping me back into the moment. She puts a hand on the back of my head and pushes hernipple into my mouth. I open my mouth wide for her.She grips my neck tightly. I freeze. She slowly slides hernipple across my tongue and back again over and over. Ireach my tongue out. She pulls my head and smashes myface onto her breast and I suck. My mouth is moving onher. I am eager to show her how my tongue moves. Toosoon she backs away again.
Her breathing is fast. I can see that glow on her skin. She sits on the bed in front of me, staring. She looks soserious. This is serious. She slides back farther on the bedand relaxes against the sheets. She pulls her knees up. Iam staring at her cunt. I feel my breath push my belly in,out. I'm nearly panting, the adrenaline building insideme as I take her in. One hand rests low on her belly, just above her pussy. Her other hand is higher, her nipplesqueezed between her fingers. I see now that she's alreadywet. Oh my god, I can see it. She is showing me.
She slides her hand between her legs. Her fingersmove in jagged circles. At first she's slow and her body isstill, but then I see her hips move. I jerk myself forwardin my chair. I can't help it. She grabs a long, curved glassdildo. She is circling her clit with one hand. The otherhand is pushing the dildo quickly in with a slower pullout. I am learning this. I am feeling my muscles pushingand pulling. I am seeing the angle my head will want tobe at with my tongue on her clit when I get to do this toher. I am desperate to taste her.
She pulls faster now. I can see that it's the pull andnot the push that excites her. I wonder if she'll ejaculate.I think she will. My ankles and wrists are pulling againstthese cuffs. I am making noises in my chair. I'm readyfor her to set me free, but she isn't going to stop now. Idon't want her to stop. She pulls out and a clear streamfollows. "Oh my god," I say. "That is so fucking hot."Her body is still writhing. She hasn't climaxed yet.
Watching her like this is incredible. She knows it'ssexy, but she has no true idea how powerful this is. "Youhave no idea," I say, stunned and worshipful. I am overwhelmedby her trust, by everything she is giving me.One hand pulls the lips of her pussy wide and the otherstrokes. Her fingers circle the pink, wet lips and trace apath up and around her clitoris. The movement startsslow but quickly builds. Her fingers start to spend moretime just below her clit. She lifts her hips, and I watchher toes reach long. Her jaw hangs loose, and I can hearher breathing faster. Too quickly, it's over. Her hips jerkand then she is surfacing and pulling up on her elbows, smiling at me. The lesson ends.
She stares at me with a knowing, sweet look in hereyes. She sits in my lap, takes my face in her hands andkisses me. "You amaze me," I whisper. She unbucklesmy wrists, then my ankles. "Let's see what you learned,"she says.
"This is just the beginning," I say, "and I never wantit to end."

Let the celebration begin! Amorous Woman is now available as an ebook, with a gorgeous cover (if you're interested in having this beautiful book to caress, contact my publisher about POD). This novel is my personal favorite of all my work (to date), and the most demanding and rewarding to write. If you like the free sample, dive in and take your own trip to a fascinating, exotic and erotic land. I'm also very excited to announce that a collection of six of my best short stories, "The Mammoth Book of Erotica Presents the Best of Donna George Storey: Picture Perfect" is now available on Kindle. Exhibitionism, cross-dressing, phone sex, Japanese erotic prints, there's lots to please everyone. All of the stories appeared in the Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica series.
And now, for my official bio:
I've always wanted to write fiction, but didn't have the time or the courage until my oldest son was born and I decided to leave my job teaching Japanese literature to be a full-time parent in 1997. From the start, I was drawn to erotic themes and although I resisted at first--erotica seemed too scandalous for a shy bookworm like me--I soon realized I had to write what I loved.
Fortunately, over the years the love has translated into over 150 publications in various venues, from literary magazines like Prairie Schooner and The Gettysburg Review to best-of erotica anthologies like Best American Erotica and The Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica.
I'm a Princeton graduate with a Ph.D. in Japanese literature, which I mention not to impress--who really cares?--but to suggest how far I've wandered from the path of propriety. But I like to think my new aspirations are as lofty. I truly believe we need more writers willing to acknowledge that the sexual urge and the erotic imagination are as worthy of a complex literary treatment as anger, jealousy, ambition or love in its PG-rated form. That's what I try to do in my work, one story at a time.
My other interests include delicious food, hearty wine, reading about history and cultural studies, and long walks at dawn. My author photographs were taken by the wonderfully talented Laura Boyd (www.ownyoursexy.com) who can capture the inner beauty in everyone, especially if you're wearing a gorgeous custom-made corset. Thanks for stopping by.

There's the married couple surprised (and eventually seduced) by their foreign, free-spirited houseguests ("The Couchsurfers"); the long-time girlfriends sailing the Mediterranean who find that letting a man come between them brings them closer than ever ("Uncharted Seas," in Kristina Wright's "Three of Hearts"); the husband and wife who take a vibrator and remote to a crowded bar for a night of daring fun, and find another couple there with the same remote, and a desire for mischief ("A Tale of Two Toys," in Rachel Kramer Bussel's "Come Again: Sex Toy Erotica"). Whether they involve friends, lovers, strangers, or unexpected combinations, count on interesting characters, tantalizing situations, and seductive storylines that somehow both satisfy readers and leave them thirsting for more.
Komodo's writing is "fresh, smart, hot -- and most importantly, damn good fun."
When he's not creating, the 40-something Komodo restores furniture and experiments growing strange varieties of chili peppers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In 2010, Kathleen Tudor was working full time as a magazine writer (under a different name) and toying, very occasionally, with the idea of writing fiction. She wrote a piece called Navigator about a pair of women who learn to share an incredible emotional and sexual bond through the act of learning to co-pilot a starship, and after striking out once, sold it to Circlet Press, where it appeared in Like that Spark.
Sad but true: It took two years of occasionally writing for calls and selling work for Kathleen to realize that her passion lay with fiction. She gave up non-fiction writing and hasn't looked back. That same year, early 2012, her very first sale, Navigator, was chosen for a Circlet Best-Of anthology, Fantastic Erotica.
Kathleen's work has appeared in anthologies by Ravenous Romance, Xcite Books, Circlet Press, Cleis Press, and Storm Moon Books. She is also an editor with Circlet Press, and her first anthology, Like Hearts Enchanted, will be out in 2012.
Kathleen lives in California with her incredible partner and child, a dog, a cat, and a fish named Speedy. She enjoys the outdoors, including kayaking, hiking, and recharging on the beach, but her favorite activities remain writing, editing, and reading--not a day goes by that she doesn't do at least one of those!

Annabeth Leong is frequently confused about her sexuality but enjoys searching for answers.
Her work appears in dozens of anthologies, including Divine Desire: Erotic Stories of Sacred Sexuality, Heiresses of Russ 2015: The Year's Best Lesbian Speculative Fiction, and the 20th Anniversary Edition of Best Lesbian Erotica. She writes about a range of orientations, in stories from sweet to dark, though recently she has gravitated more toward writing lesbian fiction.
She frequents the haunts of H.P. Lovecraft, lives in the midst of a teetering tower of piled-up books, and can often be found at the rock climbing gym.
She has performed her work at events both kinky and literary, including Sticky Stories Boston, Readercon, the Fetish Fair Flea Market, and Bound in Boston. She hopes to win Providence Sex Trivia one day, but so far she's had to satisfy herself with second place.
Thea Landen lives in New York with her husband and children. Though she’s dabbled in all romantic subgenres, she has a special love for sci-fi, fantasy, and adventure…anything that pushes the imagination beyond its usual limits. When she’s not writing, she’s either knitting or crocheting, playing video games, or pretending to enjoy cardio and squats.

Like a good mixture of kink and romance? Then be sure to check out Medea Mor's work. Most of Medea's stories are BDSM-themed, but every now and then she'll venture into more vanilla territory. About the only thing all her stories have in common is that they have a lot of heart, because erotica without emotions is like a fizzy drink without sugar. It just doesn't taste as good.
Medea's short stories have been published by Cleis in the USA, and by Mischief and Xcite in the UK.
In addition to being traditionally published, Medea has recently begun self-publishing. She has several short stories and novellas in the pipeline, and is working on her first full-length feature, a Victorian BDSM novel.

Jade's newest release—A Love Affair, From A to Z—is a narrative in verse available in ebook and audiobook, and narrated by Jade herself.
While Jade was first published as an erotica writer, her stories have expanded to capture all facets of love, relationships, sex, and passion—be the experiences of her characters joyous and sweet, or transformative, bittersweet, and achy. Her stories are often on the lyrical side, thanks to Jade's first writing love of poetry.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2013I have been a fan of Cleis Press' anthologies for quite a while now -- and, in my opinion, prolific editor/author Rachel Kramer Bussel has outdone herself with this huge & varied collection of stories. With 69 short stories in all [written by an impressive team of talented authors including Tenille Brown, Emerald, Donna George Storey, and Kay Jaybee among many others], there really is something for everyone here. Each of the stories is entertaining, sexy, and very well written. Everybody who reads this book will come away with their own personal favorites, but to me a few of the stories clearly stood out: Thomas S. Roche's "How You Christen A Bed" is an uplifting story that anyone who has ever had to move on after an all-too-recent break-up will relate to... Annabeth Leong's "All You Do Is Play" (about an improvised rock & roll performance for a grateful audience) is worthy of several encores... Logan Zachary's "Remote Control" could have been published in a science-fiction anthology; it's also humorous, surprising, and sexy... I don't think I will ever be able to turn on The Weather Channel ever again, without thinking of Salome Wilde's urgent "Weathering The Storm"... Virgie Tovar's "Count Out The Strokes" has a tense build-up, followed by a sudden satisfying conclusion... "Icing On The Cake" by Lula Lisbon is an unexpected treat for anyone with a sweet tooth and a sense of humor... Jade A. Walters' "The Flogger" is an absolute knockout... and "I'm On Fire" by Rachel Kramer Bussel delivers actual flames to an already-smoking-hot collection of stories. Dozens of great short stories, collected in a single book -- all for around twelve bucks? Do yourself a favor, and toss a copy of this "Big Book" into your little shopping cart right now.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2016This is not a book to read and one sitting. I'd say graze is best for this book and then put it down when you're full and then come back to it. No, I have not finished it. And yes, I will, but when I'm ready again to fill up on another set of stories.
Depending on who is doing the writing, and it is a compilation, I feel it can score in the descriptions and sometime miss terribly. I won't go into whose stories I was not fond of, because I think it is a matter of subjective taste. For me, the book started off slowly and I had to look at the title a couple of times to make sure I reading the book I thought I was reading. I have just recently come back to reading erotica after refraining for the last 20 years. I've mostly been reading business books or magazines for pleasure or marketing books for business. Even though this is compilation of books for women, it is NOT like any of Nancy Friday's books. It tries to be, in design perhaps, but because it is from varied authors, that specific rhythm is not met.
The beginning of the book is slow for me and it not particularly erotic. It felt as though I was reading fiction, yes, but more of an instructional fiction. I read the introduction which makes the books seem to me more than it is, but I am only at 27% on my kindle and perhaps that is why I can't say that I absolutely loved it. Skipping around might be best, but I don't know any of the authors to pick out which one I'd prefer and just read their story or stories, so... This is a book that can acquaint you with the new array of women erotica writers though and in that respect I am happy to see there are so many AND that they are not all one sided. The stories I've read or not all about the guy or dominant having all the fun. There are definitely trade-offs and some twists as to what to expect or is expected. That I do appreciate. There is a story so far for everyone's imagination.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2020I have found that I love reading erotic story anthologies edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. THE BIG BOOK OF ORGASMS: 69 SEXY STORIES is no different. It is like the erotic reading version of a box of chocolates. Truly, I had no idea of the types of stories I would encounter as I read each one. The stories ranged from heterosexual, homosexual, group, fetish, voyeurism, self-love, group, and more, which made getting to the next story so exciting. As a reader, I had no idea what I would encounter. I did know this: The story would be edited superbly, and the story would be highly sensual. Each author managed to cram interesting morsels of sexy stories within the restraining 1,200-word guidelines. Of the collection, the stories that I thoroughly enjoyed were Logan Zachary's "Remote Control", Victoria Blisse's "Pushing Boundaries on Public Transport", and Lady Cheeky's "The Massage."
If you're looking for a hot collection of stories, a perfect beach/vacation read, this is the book for you. Just make sure you have a willing partner close by when you read it.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2019Big Book of Orgasms is just that! A big book of sexy stories with satisfying endings. They often put the women in the driver sea,t letting them experience a pleasure instead of just giving it. I loved the brevity of the stories, how they were short yet still long enough to be a complete pleasure to read. In this story, we find ropes, trucks, public spaces, and even a few beds. The story I was most impressed with was The Park by Elise Hepner, it is only a full page, but so dang impressive and risque.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2014These stories are not really sexy. Mostly they are very corny, quite trite, and sometimes just ridiculous. I mean, I realize it's hard to write sex stories that are not cheesy, but so is writing about any topic. This book just doesn't cut it.
