Olivia loves billionaire heroes despite never having met one in person. Taking matters into her own hands, she creates them on the page instead. Stern, charming, cold or brooding, so far she's never met a (fictional) billionaire she didn't like.

A voracious reader of romance, Olivia picked up the pen a few years back and what followed was nothing short of a love affair of her own. Now she spends her days giggling at the steamy banter she's writing or swooning at their happily-ever-afters.

Smart and sexy romance—those are her lead themes.

A cute, fun holiday romance

A cute, fun holiday romance
A decade ago, Adam Dunbar's father was accused of embezzling funds from his company, the largest Christmas store in Michigan, and fled the country to avoid prosecution. Adam and his mother moved away from the small town of Fairhill shortly thereafter. Now a self-made tech billionaire, Adam recently decided to buy back his family's former home and is living there alone, across the street from his childhood best friend Evan's parents. Evan's younger sister, Holly Michaelson, now lives in Chicago but is also back in Fairhill for the holidays. She looks forward to spending Christmas in her hometown each year because of Fairhill's famous Christmas Fest, which draws visitors from all over the state. Unlike Holly, Adam isn't a fan of Christmas after everything that happened with his father, and his refusal to decorate leads to a conflict with his new neighbors. Since Holly and Adam grew up together, Holly's mother and her book club friends ask her to pay Adam a visit and convince him to decorate. He agrees, but only if Holly helps him. They rekindle their friendship while hanging lights, and Holly decides to show her teenage crush just how magical the Christmas season can be. This was such a cute, fun story! Adam was actually pretty nice for a Scrooge, not to mention down to Earth considering the level of success he'd achieved. He could have thrown his money around to try and impress Holly, but instead, he acted like a normal guy, which I appreciated. It seemed as if he hadn't had much in his life besides his company for the past few years, which accounted for his workaholic tendencies. That's probably also why he seemed kind of lonely. The way he reconnected with Holly and the entire Michaelson family was quite lovely. As for Holly, she was sweet and I liked how passionate she was about her hometown and its Christmas traditions, but she seemed kind of young for her age (29) to me. I couldn't exactly put my finger on why, but it might have been because she still hadn't managed to figure out her career path. She was a good match for Adam, however, and I loved their banter. I laughed so hard when they started joking about Adam's "old job" as a serial killer and all of the skills it taught him! (I might have a twisted sense of humor...) I recommend "The Billionaire Scrooge Next Door" for all fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy and look forward to whatever Olivia Hayle writes next.

What a sweet and sexy Christmas treat! Longer than a novella but not quite a novel, this low angst holiday romance had me smiling by the end. It has a little bit of a slow start, but once our Scrooge of a hero shows his sweeter side, it was a whole lot of fun. It's light and sexy with plenty of Christmas spirit, and I loved the small town feel, complete with a rich history between our couple. Adam is the guy Holly crushed on in her youth, and now he's back home - older, successful, and still just as swoony. It didn't give me second chance romance vibes (which I appreciate), because their 4-year age gap means that Adam never considered her an option back in the day. But now that they're both adults, there's no one else he sees.

The story follows Adam, a guy who has let work overtake his life for the last decade. He's built a successful company from the ground up, and that's taken a toll on his personal life. When a spur of the moment decision has him purchasing a home in the small town he grew up in, he doesn't know what he's getting into. Adam no longer loves Christmas - why would he, when it hasn't been good to him in years? But there's one upbeat, Christmas-loving woman in town who won't leave him be, and Holly is no longer the girl next door that he once knew. Holly has Adam rethinking everything, and she might just bring the joy of Christmas back into his life.

This was a quick, lighthearted read that flew by. I'm not sure if the beginning is weaker than the rest or if it just took me a little bit to get my bearings, but I was loving this before long. Adam and Holly are super sweet together, and there's just enough steam to heat things up. He's a refreshingly likable guy, honestly, not a major Scrooge. I love a good brother's (former) best friend romance, and this is one that's executed without much angst or emotional baggage. These two have great chemistry in the present, and there's plenty of Christmas cheer to liven things up. The small town feel and family moments make it such a fun, festive read, and the short length makes it easy to binge in one sitting. Just what I like in a holiday romance!

Holly is home for Christmas, her favorite holiday. Adam was the boy next door, her brother’s friend and Holly’s teenage crush, and is now a grumpy self-made billionaire. Adam has purchased his childhood home to live in for a few weeks over the holiday. He’s there just to figure out his business future back in Chicago, while facing issues arising from his father’s embezzlement and disappearance. Finding love and happiness with Holly introduces Adam to the joys of Christmas and a loving family. This is a sweet, quick romance with believable character development, some heat and a very satisfying HEA. I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved the wit and banter between Holly and Adam. Adam went from being the boy next door, her brother’s best friend, to a tech billionaire. When he buys his childhood home and returns for Christmas, Holly can’t believe her teenage crush is home. Their relationship is comfortable, engaging, deep conversations, humor and secrets revealed. Even though their worlds seem far apart, they are drawn together by their commonalities, trust and friendship. Great characters and storyline make this book a wonderful holiday read.

This is such a cute book! It’s perfect to read curled up in your favorite reading place, preferably with a cozy blanket and a warm drink. I love the premise of falling in love with a childhood friend and reconnecting as adults. This is a great Christmas time read, but out of season it’s still just as good. You get the true meaning of Christmas and how it’s not necessarily about gifts, but the people and time you choose to spend the season with. Adam and Holly are just so sweet and I was so happy to read their HEA . Olivia writes such memorable character’s and you just can’t go wrong picking up any of her books, including this one.

Olivia Hayle has quickly become one of my favorite authors! I found her with How to Honeymoon Alone, and I’ve been reading everything of hers since.

This is a novella, but I still felt like I got a good grasp of both Holly and Adam. I loved their sweet moments, the spice was done just right, and I of course loved Winston! Lol!

I definitely recommend if you love holidays reads, and are looking for something quick.

I normally don’t read Christmas books, but thought it would be fun to try. It reminds me of one of the cute lifetime/hallmark movies that show during the holiday season. This is a happy story without any real heart breaking drama and I think that makes the read a very casual happy reading experience. Overall, it is written well and there is mostly fade to black romance - one actual spice scene included.

I was drawn in from the first page and I couldn’t stop reading until the end. I loved this book! I was a bit sad about the upcoming Christmas season but after reading this book it reminded me of all the good things about Christmas. This book would be a perfect Hallmark Christmas movie. It leaves you with a warm and happy feeling. It seems so true to life and it is a very romantic story. I will recommend this book to all my friends!

    Spread the love... 🎄
This is one of the sweetest stories I have ever read. The billionaire next door is a grumpy old friend and childhood crush of Holly - what a fitting name for the main character. Adam was best friends with her brother but after an unfortunate event he left town and has lost connection for the last 10 years. Holly is back in her hometown for Christmas and with a little help of the holiday's festivities and a severe snowstorm they get together.
There is some mild angst but in the end they have a beautiful HEA.
It's such an easy read, with likeable and real characters that you could even relate. I highly recommend it for the holidays reading list.

A quick book about Holly and Adam. Both growing up in a small town in Michigan. Holly comes home from Chicago two weeks before Christmas to find Adam living in his old house next door. They haven't seen each other for 10 years when Adam's father disappeared facing bankrupt and embezzlement charges leaving Adam and his mother to face the hatred of the community. Their house is repossessed and they are forced to leave in disgrace. Adam comes back without knowing quite why when the old house becomes available. When Holly arrives for Christmas early she connects with Adam again and they fall in love. Adam now has a computer company and is very rich. He pays back all his father's creditors. And then returns to Chicago. Holly returns there as well and they become boyfriend and girlfriend.

The story is about Holly who comes home for the holiday and Adam (her teenage crush) who happens to be at the house across the street after a long absence.

The book is narrated by the two main characters: Holly and Adam. The backstory of the characters was well developed, and I got very attached to those two + Winston.

It was an heart felt book! It gives you all the feel of when you meet someone and the sparks are there (with the awkwardness, excitement and laughs!) during the wonderful time of Christmas. The descriptions weekend spot on!

It is a must read for the holidays!
