Wow, my head is about to explode!! So much happens, I don’t know how Dani fit this all in, but I love it!! We pick up right where we left off in book 1. This book is told in multiple POV’s which I wasn’t all for in the beginning. But Dani writes magic and it works!! The steam in this one is OFF THE FN CHARTS!! My GAWD! 🥵 Lycan and Scarlett so hot together and then add in.... I mean, mind blowing hotness! I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish and as truths were revealed I found myself gasping. Epic conclusion!

    I absolutely loved this Crimson Falls Duet. Scarlett and Lycan remain my favourite couple; what I did not expect though: I love Darius too!

    Bitter Vows ended with Darius kidnapping Scarlett and shooting his brother, Lycan. In book 2, Bitter Truths we learn more about Darius. Scarlett shows her maturity and strong spirit from the start. She knows exactly when to push Darius and when to remain calm. All she really wants is to get back to her husband Lycan, yet there is something about Darius that intrigues her.

    In a few hours, she has figured out the real Darius, but this comes with some painful revelations about her family. Bitter Truths reveals so much! All the secrets and questions in Bitter Vows are brought to light and answered in ways I surely did not anticipate.

    This Red Riding Hood retelling with the Wolf, Red, the Hunter having prominent starring roles; even Granny has a co-star role is filled with so many twists that you enjoy reading. The love, lust, jealousy, anger, and anxiety experienced in this duet is all worth it!!

    P.S: I am ready for Darius and Khan stories!!!

    This is the 2nd part of this thrilling duet and the conclusion of Lycan and Scarlett’s story. Lycan is recovering and he will do whatever he must to get Scarlett back. Darius is on a mission of revenge against Lycan. Scarlett can see through the façade of darkness to the man underneath, and he is a complex character who is much darker than his brother. I must admit I though this storyline was going to go in a direction I did not want it to but thank goodness it did not. This is a brilliant story which this talented author has done a phenomenal job in weaving, and is a dark, raw, gritty, intriguing, and heartbreaking story, which has suspense, lies, deceit, and love, which all leads to a steamy and all-consuming read. I look forward to reading more from this talented author who has the unique ability of just getting better and better, and I highly recommend her work.

    Bitter Truths is the second book in the Crimson Falls Duet series by Dani René and it immediately picks up right after the events in Bitter Vows. Lycan is gravely injured and Scarlett is kidnapped by his brother, Darius. A lot of uncomfortable truths are revealed in this book but one thing does stay the same—Lycan and Scarlett's love and desire for each other. I loved how Lycan was willing to do anything for his Scarlett, including giving her the opportunity to explore her sexual desires, even when it caused him jealousy.

    Lycan has fallen in love with Scarlett and will stop at nothing to get her back. I have to admit that I did not expect to be reading Darius' POV in the part of the book. I despised him for injuring Lycan and taking Scarlett away. There's also that fact that he had sexual thoughts about his brother's wife. However, my opinion of him has changed by the end of this book and I commend Dani René for being able to do that! Darius is a very complex character and engages in activities that are much darker than Lycan. I look forward to reading his HEA down the road.

    In the end, this was an excellent duet series by Dani René and I am definitely looking forward to more from her in the future! She excels at writing sexy stories with dirty talking heroes and this one is no exception. Besides Darius, I am really intrigued by Kahn, Alex, and Atreo. I hope we will be getting books for them. If you are looking for a dark romance that is action-packed, off-the-charts smoking hot love scenes, and an obsessive love between two characters, then I highly recommend this book!

    This is the second book in the Crimson Falls Duet and it is not a standalone. It picks up where Bitter Vows ended and continues with Scarlett, Lycan and Darius and what a heart pumping ride this one is.
    “Any affection you hold for someone is something they can use against you.”
    Scarlett is being held by Darius and while she is with him, changes are taking place as Scarlett seems to have an effect on Darius and the tight emotions he has been holding because for so long, he has been fueled by revenge against those who mistreated and lied to him. Another side to this triangle is Scarlett being a bridge for the two estranged brothers as not all is as it seems with their relationship nor the reasons for the rift occurring in the first place. Watching Scarlett show her inner strength and the lengths she will go to prove her love for Lycan is mesmerizing. There is so much going on with this storyline that breathing may prove a challenge as each chapter progresses to the next. The secrets that were revealed are answered in a mesmeric way that one cannot anticipate. This is one EPIC conclusion to this duet and I cannot wait for more from these characters and this talented author.

    Damn.
    Hot.
    It’s what comes to my mind when think about this book. It’s loaded with tension, full of twists and steamy sex scenes story that will melt your kindle.
    There are secrets.
    There are lies.
    There’s passion and need.
    And bitter truths that hide behind the sugar coated lies.

    Both Darius and Lycan are goals.
    So similar and yet so different.
    The Shaw brothers are like light and dark.
    And they’re dangerously hot.
    Scarlett is stuck between them both, tempted to taste the forbidden.

    I loved the first book but Bitter Truths is way better, maybe because of all the steam and suspense, but it’s just sooo hot.
    The Crimson Falls duet is the best fable retelling I’ve ever read. Definitely not to be missed read.
