BLACKMAIL: TRUE COLORS SUSPENSE Kindle Edition
Experienced in their fields- both have much to teach, to learn.
Scout Mommy Alexandra Hamilton opened her door to a man who’d make Michelango’s chisel sing, and knew he wasn't going to be selling her cookies...
Adam "Cypher" Stonecypher's black ops for hire team barters goods for services and wants for nothing. Boasting a confidence rating of over 97% on every op he chooses (no matter how technical or dangerous), a small favor for his estranged mother, the First Lady of Georgia, requires a woman's touch, and Adam's all male team isn't up to the task.
Adam 'persuades' Alexandra into assisting on this cream puff case, but learns too late for both of them he's been betrayed. His professional future, the safety of world leaders, and Adam and Alexandra's lives are suddenly all on the line.
His "easily manipulated" new helper MacGyvers her way out of deathly situations, proving to be far more than even Adam imagined as they hunt for stolen G-8 Summit security specs and the ruthless predators who will kill to retrieve them.
Even more disturbing to Adam's peace of mind, Alexandra easily sees beyond his emotional firewall to what the ultimate tactician secretly wants most and poses a clear security threat to his carefully guarded heart. Not only can his underestimated new partner help him save the day, Alexandra is the answer the well-connected loner's heart has been seeking.
When his harmless bit of blackmail goes haywire, the innocent woman he's admired from afar is slated for death and they'll lose everything important unless they choose to take the greatest risk one... more... time.

About the author

http://www.kdharp.com
K.D. Harp writes characters of character living in a fast-paced and deadly world that often lacks it. Driven to deliver a bang-up entertainment ride with an encouraging message, the Georgia State grad strives for "romance beyond the pants" pushing past mere physicality to the head games we play with ourselves, (especially when surviving edge-of-your-seat suspense!) The GENESIS semi-finalist is known for smart, real-world heroines who often MacGyver their way to safety with typical suburban Mom aplomb; jury-rigging flamethrowers with kitchen supplies or finding new uses for a fire extinguisher to escape an inferno, etc. (If this requires more police ride-alongs or a home test lab comparing ways to beat zip-tie handcuffs, so be it!)
Prior to writing fiction, KD's credits included such diverse media as America Online's Front Page "Howdy" section, "The Raleigh Citizen", "GAMES" magazine, and "Digital SIgnal Processing and Multimedia Review" magazine.
KD maintains authenticity by drawing on her experiences working in hospitals and doctor's practices, hours on the shooting range or the occasional Citizen Police Academy. You'd think volunteering for multiple first responder organizations would be exciting enough, but so far, Life in the BURBS has netted even more action! KD has confronted not one but two pick pockets, performed the Heimlich on a choking infant (cut those grapes super small, folks), responded as backup for CPR, identified and pushed for treatment of a man suffering from a T.I.A., and brought an unconscious and cyanotic (purple skinned) shopper back to a healthy pink at the local grocery before the real EMTs could arrive on scene. (That and other tales appear at kdharp.com). She's even assisted a real life hero, a bona fide LEO suffering heat stroke during a sweltering training event. (Naturally, carefully researched and useful emergency response "How To's" are peppered throughout her stories.)
A recurring figure on GoodRead's "Most Popular Author" lists, the Atlanta native prefers southern settings. Proud to win 4th place in the nationwide 2012 Hook, Line & Sinker! contest, and to have penned the first CERT fiction in the world, RESCUE ME (WE HAVE ESCAPED), the retired archery range master has even been honored with a Distinguished Service Award from her local Boy Scouts of America council.
"Through Love Serve One Another" and "Love does not demand its own way" make recurring themes for smart, funny titles that refuse to settle for just the physical aspect of a relationship. Honor and respect mix with physical passion and sense of humor.
...Which, after thirty years of marriage, she can tell you, is the way REAL love truly lasts.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2017This is one of the most unique romantic suspense books I've ever read. Loved Adam, Alex and the supporting cast. Adam was a real puzzle in many ways but it was Alex who continually surprised me. The romance is clean, bad language minimal and the immediate storyline resolved. However, no HEA in this book. There were some editing errors and the tense seemed odd at times, but the story was so good those things were easily dismissed. Can't wait to read the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2014Loved it. Absolutely fabulous premier book by a new author. As a bookophile familiar with every genre (over 500 books read this year so far and that's par for the course) and literally thousands of authors, I can honestly say that K.D. Harp is one of the best I've seen in a long time. She will draw you in, have you pounding the couch saying "no they didn't!" and definitely being late for any morning appointments after an all night read. Adam and Alexandra are fantastically funny, sexy and they have the best parties! I was fortunate enough to be able to go through Blackmail, White Lies and Code Prodigal back to back. Three days, too many Rice Krispy Treats, little sleep and I anxiously await her next release. Welcome K.D.! I'm thrilled to have such a talent and hope to see you for many years to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2013Best read in forever....I laughed.....I was stunned.....I was titillated....I was hooked......Cypher is a boss of experts who can find anything...track anything...protect anything or anyone. But he needs someone who does not reek expert, is female and capable for one very important find. In the course of another job......he spies one who might fit the bill, and he has the goods on her. Stonecypher gets her reluctant help......and his controlled sane world is now a thing of the past. He let Alex loose to do what she does best......get from A through his whole alphabet to B.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2014I picked up this book because I had the opportunity to meet the author. I started the book on Sunday and finished it Monday afternoon.. I LOVED the story line and the way it was written. (Getting to meet the author was pretty cool too) I'm looking forward to reading her other book 'Code Prodigal' and can't wait for the next installment from Stonecypher.. 'White Lies'... Glad I bought this book will be a favorite to go back and read again and again.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2014As another reviewer has noted, this author draws favorable comparisons to Janet Evanovich's style of writing. The lead in the story appears smarter than Stephanie Plum in that I believe Alexandra will learn from her experiences and Plum blunders through the same mistakes over and over. I like that Alexandra has values, and a biting sense of humor. She is no caricature, but a developing character with depth to come.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2014This book captured me in just a few pages and kept me interested right to the end. Worst part about it is that the author's next book isn't finished yet! A fun easy read, yet intelligent. Lot's of local Atlanta color also made it interesting to this native. Always good to see good writing, principled characters who develop over the course of the book, and a plot that twisted and turned much like the streets of Atlanta itself.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2017Loved the suspense and a thriller mixed with love. Can"t wait to read the next in the series of True Colors!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2013Like the Janet Evanovitch series, we have a girl, a guy and another guy. But unlike Stephanie Plum, Harp's main character, Alexandra, is a widowed mother of one, unwittingly drawn into a black ops scenario that challenges her mentally, physically and most of all, it challenges her heart. Alternatingly, upbeat, funny and dramatic, Blackmail is a fun read.
