Something Borrowed, Something Boo: A Point Pleasant Holiday Novel (Point Pleasant Holiday Series Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 158 ratings

Halloween? Check.
Halloween Wedding? Double check.
Falling in love unexpectedly at the Halloween wedding? Totally Inconvenient!

Danny: I'm trying to decide how I got roped into not only being the best man at my ex's wedding, but also planning the damn thing with the other best man. He's a famous actor. He's too hot. He's too nice. He's also a major pain in my ass. As we work together to make this wedding the most beautiful event ever, I realize if Blake Hudson wasn't so annoying, I'd kiss him. Well, maybe more than kiss. I might be a little in love, but it's too inconvenient. Damn. Burying my feelings until the wedding is over is making me angsty.

Blake: How the hell can you fall in love in less than a week? I never did like doing things the easy way. I've learned to be careful and cautious living hidden in Hollywood all these years, but for Danny I'd throw caution to the wind. Well, I'll have to get him to like me first. While we plan my brother's wedding in the small town of Point Pleasant, I feel more like myself than I have in a long time. I'll use this time to make this beautiful man see the real me, and maybe he'll believe how serious I am about leaving my borrowed life behind and finding something real with him.

I usually don't get into seasonal books as they really aren't my cup of tea. This book called out to me though and I am glad I gave it a chance. The book was more about the characters and less about the season. If your looking for a sweet read this is the book. I absolutely would recommend it!!

Something Borrowed, Something Boo takes place in the town of Point Pleasant. Danny, is a ski instructor/lifeguard, who's best friend, Everett, is getting married to Evan. Danny is put in charge of planning the wedding, along with Evan's brother, Blake, a TV actor, who has come into town for the wedding. Danny and Blake don't one hundred percent hit it off at first, but as they race to get everything prepped and planned for the Halloween wedding, they realize they are attracted to each other, and have to decide if what they have started to feel for each, can overcome Blake's career and Danny's insecurities. Danny and Blake are both great characters, and it was sweet watching them grow closer, and try to pull off Everett and Evan's wedding. Point Pleasant feels like a wonderful place, and is a great setting for a series.

This was a cute m/m hmk like story! The best men are left to plan a wedding in a week and they fall in love! They did have a little angst as Danny suffered from high anxiety and low self worth but with the town’s help, they found their way!

With a lot of editing, this could have been awesome. I liked the story but I had to force myself to get through it because of the writing. It wasn't only the spelling and grammar errors, but there were actual paragraphs did not work at all.

I'll try another book from this writer just to see if the writing gets better.

Blake and Danny were two opposites but with the same heart and soul. Blake was determined to make Danny like him no matter what and while his plan worked it also made the two fall in love in this Halloween themed story.

I’m in the mood for fall and this romance certainly scratched that itch. Such fun characters-I wish I could hang out with them. Plenty of heat to go around. A fun and quick paced read.

Something Borrowed, Something Boo is book one in the Point Pleasant Holiday series by Shane K. Morton. This is my first book by this author. It’s described as Hallmark with Heat and I think that is pretty true! The setting is a beautiful small town bursting with fall colors.

Danny Kincaid grew up in Point Pleasant. It’s really the only place he’s ever wanted to be. But Danny struggles with trying to figure out what he wants out of his future. He has been best friends with Everett since they were kids. They were inseparable. But as adults, they made the mistake of trying to be more for a short time, at being a couple, which didn’t work of course. It took awhile but they found their way back to just being best friends. Now Everett has fallen in love with someone else and Danny is the best man for their Halloween wedding. Not only that, he is tasked with planning the wedding on a very short time schedule, one week! And his partner in wedding planning is no other than Everett’s fiance’s brother!

Blake Hudson is an A-list Hollywood actor. He is also Evan’s brother, the other groom in the wedding. Blake was told he was needed in Point Pleasant a week before the wedding to help plan and set everything up. At their first meeting, he is convinced that Danny does not like him. But he is determined to win him over. Because the first moment he laid eyes on him, he was completely overwhelmed with the most beautiful man he has ever seen. And, as soon as they touched, he knew this man was going to be important to him!

Danny has always been his own worst enemy. He works for a local business as a lifeguard in the summer and a ski instructor in the winter. He feels the same attraction to Blake as Blake feels for him. But there is no way their lives could mesh. Blake lives a completely different kind of life than Danny does in Hollywood. And there is one other huge problem. Blake is in the closet and Danny will never allow himself to be kept a secret.

This is an insta-love, sweet, steamy, swoony Halloween romance. These two fell hard and fast. But is it real? If Blake comes out of the closet, will it ruin his career and will he someday blame Danny for it? There are so many what-ifs here. These two just have to figure out what is truly in their hearts and if the risk is worth it. I really did enjoy it. And I could just picture the adorable setting. I definitely plan to continue the series with book two, A Very Merry Princemas.
