As a twelve year old, I borrowed a book from the library that I thought was a vampire novel. It turned out to be the true story of British "vampire" serial killer, John Haigh (amazing the things they'll let a 12 year old check out!). Nonetheless, I was fascinated, and even though the librarian wouldn't let me take out any other books on the subject, I became a true crime junkie, burning my way through True Detective magazines by the dozen.

Forty years later, I feel as though I've investigated more cases of murder than most homicide detectives, studied more serial killers than your average profiler, and spent more time than a conference full of psychologists trying to understand what every true crime buff really wants to know; Why do they do it?

My books feature the cases that interest me most. I hope that you will find them equally fascinating.

can't get enough of this stuff... I feel like it'd be better to have more on the victims... but I'm fascinated by these horribly sick people... makes me hope that people don't rush into marrying or having children without serious deliberation... makes me think of what the killers went through to become so horrible... so incredibly sick... and what they tormented upon innocent victims and their families... I am so grateful for my family and how I was raised... makes me also want to have prostitution legalized, regulated and have a safe environment where these sickos have less chance of acting out... and the most disgusting... our poor children... oh my God... I just never knew or was aware of anything but sporatic sick people within families... but to have strangers hunt strangers... and innocent children... I've lost weight reading this stuff... wow... I'm torn between reading it and throwing up ... but its too fascinating to read about human behaviors that are so far from my imagination.. wow... my prayers and heart go out to victims and families... and I truly believe... now... with DNA advances... the death penalty would be too quick a death for some of these villians...

    Fiery Tempers & Mentally Unbalanced

Another great book by Mr. Keller focusing on killers of the British Isles. Something that I was surprised by were the number of killers from Scotland. I think I remember only one from Ireland. It seems there is a lot more traveling between Scotland to England. And a problem that often occurred / occurs in the United States is when killers / rapists cross state / municipal lines and the police agencies don't share the crime details with each other. Each conducting their own separate investigations.

A slight change of MO and it would usually throw off the investigators. Of course they couldn't be the same perpetrator, the killer had done some things differently. I've read the first two of three books in this British Monsters trilogy. I will be reading the Third soon.

Just discovered there is a 4th Book in this series and of course I will be reading it. I started reading British Monsters Book 3 today.
