What a delicious ride!
Absolutely love taboo reads and age gap romances! Lucca is very protective of Claire. He saved her and for a longtime she hated him for it...until she didn’t. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. And she will do whatever it takes for Lucca to not see her as that little girl anymore. It was a roller coaster of emotions and I enjoyed every second of it! I would love to have more from Claire and Lucca. The chemistry was radiating off the pages and I was sucking it all up. Another 5 star read from these two beautiful authors! Very thankful to have given an ARC copy of this book! I highly recommend reading it!

    This book was Lucca's book and we finally see why he betrayed Julian. He is like a monster to most and even himself but he has pull that forces him to try to be more for Claire. What starts as a young guy trying help a small little girl turns to a obsession to protect and then want. He doesn't act till she's legal and she goes from little to grown up with a crush to wanting more. Claire has lived a hard life and she's far more than just her eighteen years of age but she's still very naive when it comes to Lucca. There is some twists thrown in this story but even though it's a dark themed book it has love story mixed into most of it. Things never go as they should and everything becomes a how can he won back the only person he has ever loved. So if you want a semi dark romance this your book. There's angst and drama with tons of steamy moments mixed in it has tons of moving parts that keep the storyline moving fast and still has a slow burn romance at times. Definitely recommend this book if you have read the novella before it since it gives you just a bit more of the dynamic of Lucca and Claire's relationship from the beginning. This was such a good book to read with so many things going on it never took away from their relationship to evolve to more. So if you like the dark romance with mafia themes mixed into it and includes a HEA grab this book.

    Possessive Stalker Mafia Romance

    Lucca is darkness itself. So when an innocent butterfly shadows him. He vows to help her keep that light that he never had by protecting her and preventing any darkness from ever touching her. For years he watches her making sure she's well cared for and looked after while he remains in the shadows where he belongs.

    Even though Lucca meets her when Claire is eight, he's protective of the little girl he meets and her innocence because she's everything he's not. It's once she's grown that he becomes protective for other reasons. Going so far as to trying to protect her from him much to Claire's disappointment. So the age gap was well played in the story.

    Even thoughLucca is dark, and possesive the story sucks you in and we can enjoy this cat and mouse game that him and Claire play. It's full of angst, steamy holy moly scenes, and moments when you ask yourself if you really did read that and are left shock when you realize "yup, that just happened."

    What prevented it from being a five for me
    1. Lucca sometimes did not act much like a very knowledgeable mafia second in command person.
    2. I'm still confused about what truly happened with the explosives.
    3. They try to show Claire as mature for her age, but her constant pouting and other little things like that, contradict the maturity tried to have her portray.
    4. Julian's easy pardon, too easy.

    After meeting Lucca Savage Beginnings* and Violent Beginnings*, I couldn’t wait to read Broken Beginnings!! I was not let down by his story. I absolutely love dark, twisted and age gap romances!

    Lucca and Claire met when she was 10 and he was 18. He saved her. He's been her protector, aka stalker, ever since. I absolutely love his character. He's all brooding, fiercely protective and hot AF. Overtime, there is a chemistry that grows between them, one that he doesn't want to act on and Claire does everything in her power to get him to. While she is a strong badass, she's also only 18. What I really appreciated was that these two authors developed her character as a true 18 year old. She acts out and goes out of her way to put herself in situations just to get a rise out of Lucca. Boy does she get a rise!!

    As with all of their books, I truly enjoyed watching their story and HEA play out!

    *This is a standalone, so you don't have to read Savage Beginnings or Violent Beginnings first but I do recommend them

    This book a great read I can say that would mos definitely read another book by this author. Claire is a girl that has her life put through the gutter with her father treating her like dirt beneath his feet that is until she meets lucca he lives next door. Lucca has been living life in the mob ,but when he sees Claire out in field of his new place he has instance pull forty her ,and he voles that he will always protect his butterfly. This book deals with how people can treat one another even if they have been through hell and back .

    This could be such a good story, but the way it is written is disappointing. The story just drags on and on to the point it is boring and it is a very weak Mafia book.

    Lucca and Claire are in hiding - so you would think that at some point you'd see some action with her be kidnaped or stalked, but it isn't until the end of the book the story has an amazing twist and then everything is back to roses. You'd also think that there would have been things happening with Julian and Lucca, but not until the end and it is nothing major.

    This is an age gap story and Lucca and Claire are wonderful characters.
