I was lucky enough to receive a early copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
Tannerian Wulfric. Badass. Powerful. A Alpha.
Tanner has made it his mission to find a old and very powerful demon, Elijah Ravenhill. Elijah is responsible for the death of Tanner 's parents and younger sister. With the help of his ex - lover, a fire mage named Alex Jonas, they go on a mission to find Elijah. Then...all hell breaks loose. Alex must fight for his life while Tanner fights for one thing and one thing only. Vengeance. Which never tasted sweeter.
My thoughts: OMG! What a rollarcoaster ride...a ride I refused to get off. Katze created a world where I got lost in. Yes, a very dark world with werewolves, demons, vampires and other creatures. And I loved it. It's not often you get lost in such a world, where you read and enjoy the story and next thing you know you've devoured the whole book and was completely satisfied. It's a fast paced book, with great characters which you will either hate or love. This is this author's first MM book and it was a great effort for a debut novel. It might not be a "normal" love story but it works. And it's hot.
I gave it 4.5*. However if this is a taste of what's to come, sign me up. I really can't wait for the next book in this series.
I would encourage you to get a copy of this book. It really is great book.
A blogger, who I respect and admire, said recently that you should just take a chance on a new author, or even a book you don't normally read. Just take a chance. I took a chance on this new author and it was the best decision I made.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2017It wasn't quite what I was expecting or looking for I guess I may have been misled by the synopsis but that's my own interpretation overall it's pretty decent but not something I was fully engaged and unlike her other newly written novel
- Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2017This was great. The blurb didn’t really prepared me to what the book is about. I found that amazing because while I was reading I found so much interesting surprises. I loved most of it and even though it said is not a romance, it does have a little bit of romance on it.
Tanner was morally ambiguous, just the kind of character I love. He claim to have no feelings for some people but he’s only fooling himself. Sure, he doesn’t feel the way everyone does and he doesn’t touch his heart to hurt others, even the ones he care about, but he isn’t really lacking emotions entirely. He was such an amazing character, he keep me guessing all the time what he would do because he is so complex that is so hard to predict his actions. I loved that about him.
Alex was a nice character, I loved him too, maybe as much as Tanner. What I loved about him was how much he second-guess his feelings or at least how much conflict it meant for him to feel what he was feeling for Tanner. I loved his defiance and how stubborn he could be at times.
One of the few issues I had with it was the fact that even though it had some sex scenes, there were times when it just fade to black and it was so frustrating. I wanted more. I guess it was on purpose, maybe the author didn’t wanted to overload us, readers, with too much in little time, and it’s ok, most of the times I’m ok with that but sometimes it just seem like it was needed. Also some mild BDSM scenes that could have been so great and they were just cut. I was mad.
The plot was really good, sometimes a little bit confusing as I start to understand how the world was functioning, but it was very interesting. Overall I had a great time reading It. There were times when I couldn’t read fast enough, it was so exciting. I’m definitely planning on read the next book on the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2017I love a good antagonist, and seeing a story partially told from the POV of someone whose morals are questionable at best fascinated me. The flow of the writing kept me interested from start to finish, and I enjoyed the progression of the plot. The characters are interesting, and I was invested in their stories. The description, creativity, and world building all marked this is a particularly good read for me. I ran out of pages before I was ready, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2017Although I finished the book, I never really got into it. I felt confused a lot on what was going on, or the reasoning behind why some things were done. I'm not interested enough to keep an eye out for the next book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2017Wow, Broken in Silence is an intense, dark, sexy and incredibly interesting book. This world that Katze Snow has created will have you gluded to your e-reader and leave you anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. All the characters are well developed, the world is vivid and complex and the plot sucks you right in from the get go. If you like paranormal books that are smart, sexy and a bit on the darker side Broken in Silence is definitely for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not my idea of a good book
Maybe Broken in Silence is a good book - but definitely not for me. I read a third and had to stop: the rape-like sex scenes, shallow dialogues, long and boring descriptions and not a single likeable character were just not my Idee oft a gold read. I am simply not interested in Tanner's plans for vengeance, Alex' part oft the plans, the twins interaction (does Tobias know that one of his guests at the ball is the demon who slaughtered his family?) or whatever nicht happen between Elijah and Tanner. And I don't need "good" characters if they are well written - but shallow and unlikeable with more sex than plot is a bit too much.
So, if you could finish this book, maybe it is a good one - I didn't like the beginning (the first third of the book) and stopped reading.
I like the cover though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Caution: Hot and heavy!!
Broken in Silence is not a romance book!
It is, by far, one of the best shifter erotica books I have read.
Tanner, a wolf shifter and Alpha, is hell bent on seeking revenge against a demon that attacked him decades ago and does everything in his power to get to him.
But, his one downfall is in the form of a fire mage named Alex.
When these two are in the same room, the chemistry between them is off the charts.
They work together and do whatever's necessary to ensure the demon is within their sights. What they don't expect is how their actions make them feel.
I don't want to give too many details away, but this story, while hot, will have you hooked on every page.
Extremely well written, lots of detail, and an ending that will leave you wanting more.
I can't wait for book 2!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read
I bought this novel this morning and have already finished it and loved it, I will certainly be buying more of Katze's work. It's a dark tale, in its own way romantic not that Tanner or Alex would agree. The storyline kept me glued to my seat as I had to finish it, it's captivating, entertaining with twists and turns, dark and manipulative undertones. Katze captures the mens emotions with lust and sizzling sex scenes. A must read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Confusing. Spoilers.
I have, literally, just finished reading this book. I am left feeling confused.
I didn't mind the darker elements of the story (have read worse), but more importantly for me, I didn't like Tanner. Which is a shame as he is the lead character. Alex was ok. Some of the secondary characters too, Tobias and Sebastian for instance. There just seemed to be so many characters popping up and I found myself having to work out who they were, what they were and what position they held in what organisation! Hence the confusion. But I think the thing that finally lost my interest in the plot was Tanner mating with Alex. I always thought this connection was supposed to be a huge thing in any paranormal world. But it wasn't really acknowledged and then jumped to the next scene. Which moves me on to my next gripe. I would liked to have known, from Alex's POV (as we were already with him), what happened for everything to go so wrong at the social gathering where so many people died and Alex, Sebastian and Tobias ended up in the predicament they were found in. But then the scene jumped forward to Tanner's arrival. I needed feelings, thoughts and actions in all their gruesome glory as this was part of where all the planning that had gone on, culminated.
I had quite high hopes and was kind of enjoying this until about three quarters of the way through. I have read the blurb for the next book and the sample, but I don't think I care enough to bother finding out what happens next. Disappointing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for me
I really wanted to like this book as it was recommended by someone who's writing I adore, but sadly, Broken In Silence Disappointed me.
Most of the time I could not figure out who did what - there were so man "he"-s combined with "the vampire", "the demon", "the shifter" describtions, but never the actual names of the characters, so I simply didn't know who was who, who was talking, who was doing this action or another. It threw me off so much that I couldn't get into the story and couldn't relate to the characters at all, which is a shame because I think there was a lot of potential.
The premise and world-building is still definitely very interesting and the dark mood is intriguing, so I might give this book and it's sequels another chance.
