Broken Wings: Broken Chains MC, Book 3 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.4 out of 5 stars 530 ratings

The one thing Kicks doesn’t need in his life is to fall in love....

The night Kicks woke in the hospital with fresh scars and a missing eye was the night he promised he would never, ever let himself be vulnerable again. And as the Road Captain of the Broken Chains MC, he managed to keep that vow for five long years. But the universe has different plans for the biker when his President sends him on a mission to escort the rabbi, Jude Burns, who is now under the protection of their club. Kicks doesn’t want a babysitting job, but he’s not sure what to think when he’s faced with a mouthy, stubborn man who seems far more sinner than saint.

Kicks has never in his life felt more tempted to break his promises, because with this man, his vulnerability feels like power.

Jude Burns’ world is turned upside down when his brother gets involved with a motorcycle club, and by proxy, he finds himself in danger of being killed. And after being shot at on the road, and just barely escaping a fiery death, Jude isn’t sure where he belongs. He’d spent his entire adult life dedicated to his service as a rabbi, after all, even when the temptation of life outside called to him louder than ever.

And Jude knows the decision would be easy if it weren’t for Emilio - the dark-eyed Road Captain who makes Jude question every vow he’s ever made. Jude was pretty sure he wasn’t destined for love the way his brother was, but when Emilio falls to his knees and asks him to stay, he finds it’s almost impossible to tell him no.

Even if it means walking into the line of fire to save a man with ragged, broken wings.

Broken Chains MC is a Motorcycle Club Romance series with dubious morality, mild violence, and happily ever afters.

Am a fan of this series and of EM Lindsey. Jude and Kicks are great. This book is more into the relationship between the two men vs battling an outside conflict, although the bad guy is what brings them together. Jude is a Rabbi who is questioning his purpose while Kicks is finding the courage to let Jude into his life. I enjoyed reading their story and look forward to the next book about Hawke and Jax.

Kicks can't stand for anyone to be around him long. He can't stand loud sounds. He has PTSD bad. Then Jude comes along and gives him peace. Great example of romance.

Neither Kicks or Jude were looking for what they found , each other. A rabbi who was having a reservations about his job,
trying to decide if his job was where he wanted to be right now and a road captain who's past has him thinking that there may never be love in his life. Until the stranger he was sent to pickup opened the door and Kicks felt that his life might change in ways he never imagined, the most beautiful man he had ever seen was standing before him. Then what Jude thought was just another hookup had him feeling things too. When Kicks was hurt and Jude was waiting to see if he was going to be alright, he realized he wanted so much more with this man.Kicks didn't know what he was feeling but whatever it was he wanted it and he wanted it with Jude. Strange but Cute Couple. LOVED IT!!😍😍😘

I hate to say it but this one just wasn't as good as the first two books. I really liked Kicks and Jude, but it seemed to drag on so long. It took me a whole day to read this one compared to the others that had me flipping pages wanting to know what was happening. Kicks was such a great guy and I liked in in the previous stories and it was great getting to know him, I was honestly waiting for this book so much. Jude was a little iffy for me, I get his background and the anger and all but it he didn't start out to well in my opinion and he only somewhat got better by the end. The constant need to remind us that he is indeed a rabbi and he is indeed angry with God and had lost his moral high ground was annoying at best. Ok dude deal with you issues and move on. I finished the book out of sheer will but it lacked quite a bit in my opinion and yes I am well aware of the fact that my opinion is just that my own. I just expected better I guess I've been reading EML for years now and quality is usley a given which is why I grab any book with the name I don't even read the blurb anymore. But it has taken I dive here of late and I don't like it. I will still read the next book and hopefully many more books from this author.

I do like reading a series with a story arc. An MC made up of queer, disabled guys, dancers, professors and rabbis is not something you’d read about often. Only thing keeping this from full stars is the author has trouble conveying the passage of time. The narrative seems to indicate around two months going by, then we’re told it’s been almost a year, then it seems to go back to only several months. Throws me out of the book if I can’t follow the timeline.

The Broken Chains just can't seem to get a break, but despite being shot, broken bones, and their various disabilities, this band of brothers and their boyfriends have managed to persevere. I love that. As this is a series, characters crossover each book as the club sets their sites on stopping Hydra. I recommend reading the series in order to get the maximum enjoyment. I'm on to book 4 now.

Every book that comes out makes me love this series, world, and characters more. I both hate and love that I read through this book so fast. Because it was amazing but now I have to wait for the next one. Ugh, so good. *chef's kiss*

MM romance, the third installment of an ongoing series that needs to be read in book order for maximum enjoyment and understanding. I found the story to be easy to read and a page-turner. With Hydra still trying to take them and everybody close to them down Kicks is sent to collect Jude so he can be kept safe and be near his brother.

5.0 out of 5 stars How can one author be so talented?
Reviewed in Canada on May 5, 2021
I loved this story as well as all the other books in the Broken Chains series. Kicks and Jude are on their way to a HEA if only Hydra and his minions could be extinguished! I realize how blistering this sounds especially since I’m not fond of the MC genre. However, I knew this series would be well worthwhile because I love all of Lindsey’s books. As much as I’d like to see Hydra taken out, that would mean the end of this series, and for that I’d be sad. I’m looking forward to Wicked... and I’d like to thank the author for making these books available on KU because otherwise, I wouldn’t have found them.

and a few palpitations. I love these two characters

4.0 out of 5 stars My favourite of the series

The action continues on from the last books but I definitely felt more invested this time around. It also has more of a (midway) solution and did not leave as large an open ending as the first two.
I loved that the exploration of faith does not hinge on his sexuality. Watching Jude grapple with his grief and pain, finding your way when your chosen profession does not seem to be the right fit, was just right up my alley. In general, some of the conversations in here are just well written
And Kick's finding his person was just sweet.
