Editorial Reviews

Review

"It had drama and problems that gave the storyline some dynamics and it made me cheer for them to end up together in the end, but it had that romance and the "This is me" aspect that made me happy."

Buckle Up pulled me in at start and couldn't put it down. It is fast paced, developed well and includes a great romance. I definitely recommend Buckle Up. AMy's MM Romance Reads

I was very impressed with the sweet love story in this book. This was the first gay romance book that I have ever read, and I was not sure what to expect. I had wondered if it was going to be weird - - but it was not weird in the least! Just regular people with normal feelings and desires. I really enjoyed the book and, as I read the book, I was caught up in the touching love story between the two main characters. The story was well-written with a good plot. The characters were well-developed and behaved in a very believable fashion.

A fun plot with likeable characters, Buckle Up was an enjoyable read. With several sweet and sexy moments, it was easy to get caught up in the characters' developing relationship. The writing was fairly solid, a little flowery and wordy at times but nothing too distracting.

    Definitely worth a read.

I'm going to give this a solid three stars because I laughed myself to tears multiple times. The story is cute, the twist actually not as predictable as predicted, and the setting was interesting. The resistance in the beginning was a joke, and there was no support for Kyle actually letting Elliot break down his guard -- it was just haphazard hot/cold.

But the smut. That's the gem. This is some of the most poorly worded sex I've ever read, and it's hysterically funny. It's like the author kept a thesaurus beside her and just picked things out of it at random without checking the nuances of the new word. It's kept me, my mom, and two of my friends laughing all day. Also, it's possible commas killed someone close to the author, because she has an extremely poor relationship with them.

I may read the next book just because I haven't laughed this much in ages. I don't recommend putting yourself through it for any other reason.

Really enjoyed the first book in this series so much that I had to purchase the entire series of books so that I can find out what is going to happen to Kyle and Elliot.
Very well written and keeps you wondering what will happen next.

Liked the books but I thought I bought the complete 8 episodes. There was no conclusion on Kyle's parents and what will their lives be now being together... El's racing career with Kyle. Really disappointed I was left hanging.

The characters were flat, the relationship rushed, and the circumstances unrealistic. The whole straight guy turned gay trope is so overplayed and this story does nothing to make it exciting. Neither Kyle nor Elliot are particularly relatable or compelling. Considering there are three books in the series, this one could have been a slow burn that focused on the emotional aspect of a straight man (Kyle) having his first gay experience or acknowledging his attraction to another man. Rushing them to the relationship goalposts made little narrative sense. However, there is some entertainment value found in the book.

I loved this book though it was slow it picked up a pace after two chapters.

The part about how they balance their professions is so adorable.

It's nice to see people not getting side tracked after meeting at work place.

Wasn't sure about reading a gay romance but I loved the story. It has great primary characters, Elliott and Kyle. The way that Karen develops the relationship between them is well written. She explores and describes well how each of the men are relating to and feeling about each other. Elliott a big racing car celebrity is used to having men and women throwing themselves. But when he sets his sights on Kyle he has to work to get Kyle, who is straight, to come around to the idea that he could be having a gay relationship with him, or that he might even be bi-sexual. Despite my reservation I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and am really looking forward to the next installment.
I received an ARC of this book for which I voluntarily leave an honest review.
