Caleb (Caleb Lambert Thriller Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 4,763 ratings

Vengeance is therapy.

Caleb Lambert kills people for a living. The money is nice, but it comes a distant second to his primary reason for choosing such a vocation: Caleb often calls it “scratching an itch.”

Here’s the thing, though: Caleb won’t just accept any contract. He and his team thoroughly vet each and every prospective mark to make sure they
deserve to be punished.

And why not? If anyone knows about true evil in this world, it’s Caleb Lambert. Along with his family, Caleb endured hell at the hands of multiple serial killers throughout his childhood, twisting his young mind into the mess it is today. Forever installed that need to “scratch an itch.”

And Caleb is frequently itchy, and business is good. But when a new job comes across his desk, Caleb’s entire world is turned upside down. The job appears to hold so many similarities to his past that he finds it all but impossible to turn down. An impulsive decision that could cost him dearly.

Amazing book.
5 out of 5 stars
Amazing book.
Starts off fast, stays action packed the entire book. Only issue is it’s such a short read I finished it in one night… And kinda pricey for a short book, but cheaper and better then a movie. Might as well just go ahead and order all 3 if you can and make a weekend out of it. I unfortunately will have to wait a bit before I can buy the next one.

Caleb reminded me of Dexter. A killer with a conscience! He kills only those who need killing. Caleb is a contract killer. A first-rate assassin who thoroughly checks the person he is hired to murder. The person must deserve to be killed. Caleb does not kill to be killing. He has to do this to feed his inner demons from intense childhood trauma. There were several serial killers who contributed to this trauma. This book is action-packed with thrills and chills.

Caleb is a spin-off of the Bad Games series. If I had known this before reading Caleb, that’s where I would have started. However, you don’t have to read BG before reading Caleb, per the author.

I wish I knew Caleb’s story. It was not addressed much in this book, but probably will be in the next book in the series since these are stand alone and can be read without reading Bad Games. I think I’m going to go back and read BG before going to book 2 in the Caleb series. For now, it all has to wait. I have 3 ARC books I must get read first!

    Happy reading, y’all! 📚❤️📚

This book was my book for my book club’s April read and it was picked! (Jar draw) I enjoyed this book. The author didn’t really drag out the plot, but was descriptive enough to give me the scene. He does keep the characters a bit vague, but I didn’t mind so much. I also enjoyed the humor in the story. I work EMS and it felt very familiar.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and as I understand it, there is more history or character building in his previous books that relate to this character. I very much look forward to reading his other works to become more familiar with Caleb’s story

I was born in Philadelphia and to have towns referred to in the book was interesting. Not downside was I Googled Noodle and it doesn't exist. Wanted to plan a trip there. Lots of action in the story which made for reading longer at times than I should. Some parts were a little too detailed, like making pate.
Got halfway through book and had order the other 3 in the series

Just finished this book. Loved it! Read it very quickly. Easy read and definitely keeps you engaged! Can't wait to read more of these books!!

Okay, you might need to be a bit warped to enjoy the killings, but the writing was fast paced, and the story was enjoyable. Granted there are some logical items that defy believability, but it’s still just fiction.

I am a horror fan and a true crime junkie, but this was a bit much even for me. One chapter in particular almost had me put the book down but I kept reading. The story was good after that and I'm glad I finished it. The Dexter mixed with John Wick description is an accurate description that I should've given more credence to.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! I could not put it down, and now I have to continue on to book 2. It's a good book fast pace! Highly recommend.

I am not into dark stuff, but this only gets dark if you let your mind follow down.
It is well written and keeps my interest all of the way through.

I’ve had this book on my tbr list for a while, I’m glad I finally got round to downloading it.
Caleb is a brutal killer there’s no doubt about that but he’s also a very likeable character.
I really enjoyed this book and I see there’s some others so I’m definitely going to check them out.

I did enjoy reading "Caleb " , I know him from his childhood ( Bad Games) and he is good person in heart.
Not sure about story in the book. I have feeling that I am watching different action episodes taken out of different thriller movies and been put together for us to read.
    Doesn't matter, as I said I like Caleb.👍

Fast pace. Short paragraphs. Little context. Not enough back story. Short descriptions. Might make a good movie. I won't read another.
