Arus isn’t the type to settle down, but little human Mia has gotten under his skin and triggered the start of a mating bond. The smart thing to do is to stop seeing her and halt the bond in its tracks. But as one night turns into two, he realizes that it’s too late. He wants to keep her forever!

But all is not well on Reka 5. Someone is sabotaging the perimeter fence and putting the colony in danger. When human females start disappearing, will Arus be able to keep Mia safe? And will Mia choose freedom over the male who loves her more than life itself?

This is a very good, well written, Alien/Human romance. The characters are interesting, lovable, and feel like you know them. Mia, her mother, and others from Earth were abducted. Then freed at Reba-5. Mia got a job and started learning the language. Many did not. Arus was a mercenary on the ship that rescued Mia. He met her while on Reba-5. Read and enjoy the romance, action, and mystery in their life.

Okay, let's just start by saying this: I LOVED book two even more than the first! It was short, sweet, and hit me right in the feels. My only complaint? It wasn’t long enough. I know, I know—I sound greedy, but seriously, I just wanted more time with these characters because it was that good.

Now, let’s talk about the romance, shall we? There is zero slow burn here, people. None. Nada. These two dive headfirst into each other and, honestly, I am here for it. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good slow-burn romance as much as the next person. But when it comes to mates? Give me the fast track, thank you very much. It just works for this genre, you know? No dragging it out for 300 pages, just right into the action and emotions.

And can we take a moment for Arus? Ugh, my heart. He is the perfect mix of protective, sweet, and swoon-worthy. He balances Mia so well that I’m already planning to rename my next pet Arus in his honor. The way he cares for her is just so heart-meltingly good. Sigh—I love a strong, protective mate who also knows how to be tender.

Anyway, I’m super excited for book three. If the next one is anything like this, I’m probably going to lose sleep again—but it’ll be worth it. Bring on the next one.

Mia is a very independent woman. She is doing her best to start a new life. Her mom is annoying. I really like Isabelle and Lettie!!. Sala is a great best friend. Arus meets Mia during an embarrassing moment. They click immediately. As usual there are trouble makers from Earth. Vore his best friend, is funny. Great story!!!

Very good book two of the series. I liked the heroine finding a job on the new planet and the hero working in security

Mia is making a new life on Reka 5 after the crew of the Defiant rescued her and her fellow captives from a dominion slave ship.

Arus was expecting to take a bit of a vacation on Reka 5, unfortunately life keeps happening, and when the colony requests help, he's happy to step up and help keep the locals safe... particularly a certain young lady he can't get out of his mind.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited book has more action and whodunit than I was expecting when I first sat down to read it. Balanced with the intrigue of who is up to what is the how are the humans coping with having been abducted, and finding themselves on this distant colony. Some are adapting, blending in and moving forward... others are in a state of denial, and some are focused on doing whatever it takes to get back what they lost .

Arus is a gem and I totally felt sorry for Mia with the way her mother acted. Love getting to know some of the other people on this colony. The writing is well done and keeps you turning the pages. I'm sure we'll see more of them on the Defiant. Can't wait to see what happens with Vore and if he ever manages to win Scarlet's heart. Great read!

If you enjoy this genre and have read a lot of them like I have, you will both enjoy this but not find much new here. It’s a genre staple.

The males are hot! The covers drew me in and the mates theme kept me reading. Short reads that you can binge on and no complicated, unnecessary plot twists that will separate the lovers. HEA and so cute.

Liked the first book in the series but this didn’t much for me. Not fast paced enough and didn’t appreciate the racist stereotyping of Nigerians as being untrustworthy.
