Where do I even start with the masterpiece that was this beautifully angsty story??
Bella has made me laugh, made me swoon, made me run for a cool down in the freezer but the way she made my heart literally ache with Changing the Game was a feeling I was wholly unprepared for.
Coop and Carys have been staples in each other’s lives for a while and with one event, it becomes a thing of permanency for them. But, the feelings that have tried to deny, fight and bury over the years have only intensified.
Let me just say that Cooper Sinclair is officially one of my favorite book boyfriends (Please don’t tell Sam I said that). He was just indescribable perfection. Possessive. Thoughtful. Protective. Caring. Dirty talker. Some people say they would walk through fire for you but with him, you actually believed it.
Carys Murphy, I loved her. Her spirit and energy. The pressure put on you by family and friends to be one thing or the other she experienced is one I felt to my core. I was so happy to see Carys just go all in for what and who she wanted out of life.

This sounds like a recipe for a book rife with gripping tension and heart racing moments. Bella gave me all this and then some. You could feel the angst and tension oozing from the pages.
Holy mother of steam, Coop and Carys brought that sizzle. These two had my kindle burning. Bella knows just what to write to have me absolutely captivated by every word. I was the literal embodiment of “one more chapter” until I had no more chapters left. I couldn’t walk away, Coop and Carys had me so caught in their grasp. With every turn of the page, I grew more anxious and eager until I completely devoured this book. That ending though. Pretty sure I spent the last ten percent of this book in tears. Then that cliff was emotional torture. My heart is not whole right now. I desperately need Coop and Carys hea and I will not be ok until I have it in my hands.

BOOKWORM REVIEW: Changing the Game by Bella Matthews

Cooper Sinclair and Carys Murphy have been dancing around each other for as long as they remember. Carys has had a crush on him since they were younger, and Cooper is now looking at her with eyes wide open, seeing her for the lovely, charming, sassy woman that she is.
But their relationship is a tangled web that they are trying to navigate around. Their parents are married to each other, and Cooper is her brother's best friend. Trying to figure out their feelings and relationship under THAT microscope is not going to be easy. It also does not help that Cooper is a Navy SEAL, who gets deployed at a drop of a hat.
Yet these two decide to jump in headfirst. Will they be able to successfully overcome all of the adversities life throws at their young connection?
I think Bella Matthews broke me. The angst in this read is at level 100. *I* felt like I was in this relationship with Coop and Carys. The drama, the laughter, the romance, and the tension -- all were blended beautifully into this story.
Their chemistry is absolutely sizzling. Bella Matthews does a great job of using small details to build the tension and the wanting until it is ready to ignite. And ignite, it definitely does.
I cannot say enough about my love for the Kroydon Hills universe and the people in it. It was great to see all of them again and get glimpses into their lives. It might get slightly overwhelming for anyone new to this world, and the only remedy to that is reading the books from the beginning. Trust me, you will not regret it.
This is Book One in a duet, so you know that it will end in a cliffhanger. One that will leave wanting Book Two in your hands right now. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until September 7.
