Coast to Coast: A Brother's Best Friend Hockey Romance (Wyncote Wolves Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 585 ratings

Stella

The last thing I expected was to find my boyfriend in bed with one of my best friends.

Their betrayal sent me on the next flight back to my home town in Vermont.

The plan was to take the summer to find myself. No dating and no distractions.

But when my brother’s roommate asks me to come to Canada with him for the summer, I find myself saying yes.

I’ve never been one to turn down an adventure and how could I possibly deny Simon Murray with those steel gray eyes and dimples he has?

Simon

When Stella came back to Vermont with her heart broken, I needed to find a way to cheer her up.

Taking her to Canada with me was the first thing I could think of.

It was a perfect change of scenery for her to find herself.

She agreed and we headed north with no plans of involving ourselves with each other.

There was an attraction neither of us could deny and when we found ourselves in a different country sharing an apartment with one bed, the dynamic shifted.

It was just a temporary arrangement for the short summer months.

So, why did I find myself wanting her to move coast to coast to be with me?

Hockey romance
☆ 4/5 & 3/5 spice I absolutely love a brother’s best friend, summer fling, friends to lovers, hockey romance type of book. Stella experience a breakup and makes a decision of taking a trip for the summer to Vermont to re-discover herself and take a break from her life in California. Upon arriving in Vermont, Stella moves in with her brother’s best friend Simon. I really love Simon’s character, he’s supportive, caring, and understanding. From the beginning, he listens to all of Stella’s problems, encourages, and helps Stella on her self-discovery journey. Simon invites Stella to accompany him on his trip to Canada for his Hockey camp. I love seeing their friendship evolved from being close friends to having a special relationship while in Canada. Their intense chemistry made me so invested in their relationship and I absolutely adore this couple so much. Probably my fave couple in the series! After reading all of the books in the Wyncote Wolves series, I think I relate the most with Stella and how she is trying to figure out her life and that she allows Simon to be apart of her journey and help her re-discover herself. Overall, I really enjoyed this book! Tropes: ❥ Hockey romance ❥ Friends to lovers ❥ Brother’s best friend ❥ College romance

Y’all Cali Melle has done it again. Her Wyncote Wolves steal my heart every.dang.time! Whatever you do don’t ask me to pick a favorite because it’s like a smorgasbord of heart and panty melters, them boys. I tell you they just get better and better. I’m always down to read a good ol’ brothers best friend, the playboy plowing the forbidden familial field. However that is NOT how this went at all. Simon. Oh sweet, swoony, supportive, sexy, Simon. He was obviously an extremely gifted hockey player, but even more so he was good as gold through and through.
When Stella shows up broken hearted and broken spirited he makes it his mission to support her in her journey of building her self confidence back. She may be broken inside but she’s still got some sass and spunk to her and I love her take no spit attitude. Simon becomes her biggest cheerleader and friend alongside to encourage her and praise her for her strength. He is able to give her support that even her family never gave her.

I love everything about the way these two are together. They made me cry, they made me melt, they made me smile. The friendship that leads to more. The steamy goodness between them. The heart, the heat, the book hangover they left me with. I’m a puddle of goo in the best way. It’s a Fiver for me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The banter between Stella and Simon is addicting, spicy and completely hilarious. After finding her ex in a compromising position, realizing she wasn’t even that upset about it, reflecting on the person she wants to be, Stella sets off on a journey of self discovery. Simon knows exactly what he wants, and that’s hockey. Putting in the work to eventually get into the NHL has been a long time coming.

Not wanting to leave Stella alone during the summer, Simon invites her to travel to Canada for a month. What neither one of them expected was start developing feelings toward the other which in turn, has them both scared how it will end.

“I like you like this,” Simon says quietly, his eyes bouncing back and forth between mine. “Happiness looks good on you, baby girl.”

“A look of approval passes through his expression and there’s a storm brewing in his metallic-colored eyes as he nods. “Good girl. You tell me what you want and you’ll be rewarded.”

“Can you just wear my shirts for the rest of forever?” I muse, my lips pulling upward as I take the seat opposite of her at the table. “It’s a look that really suits you.”

“What if I never find happiness like that? I know there’s more to life than love, but everyone wants it, right? What happens if I end up being one of those people who is alone forever?”

“I lean forward, resting my arms on the table. “F everyone else, Stella. You do what makes you happy and one day your soul will find the one that complements it.”

“She’s afraid she isn’t going to properly fall in love… And if Stella is going to fall in love with anyone, I want it to be with me.”

I have been excited for Simons book since we read Sterling. I really enjoyed this book, I felt it was a pretty quick read and it kept me engaged throughout.
Stella comes back home to Vermont after finding her boyfriend cheating on her with her California bestie. She has agreed to live in the same apartment as Simon, and we all like a little forced proximity, not to mention brothers best friend as well. Well…Simon is headed to Canada for a month long hockey camp and invites Stella to go with him.
Stella always feels she is in her brothers shadow, and she likes to show out from time to time. If you read Splintered Ice, you saw that she was the partier of the friends and family, but this book is about her getting her life together. I really like her and Simon, I think he was a perfect fit for her.
I would have liked to have seen more hockey in the book, which would have made it a five star for me. I know he was at camp and there weren’t any games per se, but I would like to read a little more about practice and what goes on at camp.

Simon Murray, y'all!! I loved him so much. He was so supportive of Stella. I love how he defended her, especially against her brother. He's a sweetheart with a dirty mouth and guys, he fell SO hard for her!! Stella is just trying to figure stuff out after a bad relationship and a little inner turmoil. She really has some decisions to make & thinks spending the summer away finding herself will help her along. Simon throws a wrench in her summer plans, but little does she know, it's exactly what she needs. These two needed each other and I loved them together when they finally gave in to their feelings. Thank you to Cali for the ARC!

A journey of self-discovery and what a journey it was with Stella and Simon. He instantly knows what's she's going through and is there to guide her along while they both fall in love. I love being back in the Wyncote Wolves world and seeing all our favourite characters. Simon had a lot of work to do to get Stella to figure out what she wanted from life and their relationship was so sweet . . . And spicy!
