As with all of Julie Hall's writing, I devoured this book! I was captivated from the very first chapter. I loved the fast-paced plot, loveable characters, thrilling action, and high-stakes trials. I enjoyed Locklyn's character development, determination, and resilience. And holy-cliffhanger! I need book 2 stat!

I was immediately captivated by the plot and world building and my heart raced alongside Locklyn’s as she faced each one of the Chaos trials, armed only with her wits, fighting skills and the help of the mysterious Talon. The story was fast paced and addictive and the characters were engaging and relatable. Despite her lack of powers, Locklyn was a complete warrior who used her tenacity and mental and physical strength to best her magically powerful opponents. I love a triumph of the underdog story and I was rooting for Locklyn as she faced down each hurdle thrown her way, never backing down. She was loyal to the core and would do anything to help her friends. Even when it meant putting herself or her heart in danger.
There’s a delicious love triangle in the form of two opposite, but equally hot love interests: Becks, Locklyn’s protective childhood best friend and the heir to the dragon throne, and Talon, the dark haired mysterious newcomer who becomes Locklyn’s ally in the Chaos trials. Locklyn’s chemistry with each guy was tangible and butterfly inducing, and I kept secretly hoping that the book would turn into a ‘why choose’ romance! Whilst I’m not adverse to spicy books, I really enjoyed the sweetness of this one and I can’t wait to share it with my daughter who has just got into romantasy books and keeps asking to read mine!
The trials themselves were imaginative and so well written that my heart was in my throat the whole time. I cared so much about Locklyn and I was terrified for her! Without giving anything away, there’s a huge plot twist that I didn’t see coming, and we’re left hanging off a cliff at the end! I need book 2 now!
Packed full of magical creatures, sizzling romance, high stakes and a deliciously twisty plot, Creatures of Chaos is a must read for fantasy fans!

This book started off strong and never let up! I was hooked from the start and could barely put it down. I absolutely loved Locklyn. Her strength and vulnerability were just beautifully explored. I need the next book, that cliffhanger had me screaming!
