Coming Swoon: A Small Town Second Chance RomCom (Brunch Bros Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 132 ratings

A sequel twelve years in the making….

Peter Green has led a charmed life. Born to be Hollywood royalty, he’s a leading man with a heart of gold. All that’s missing from his life is love. But he gave his heart away twelve years ago and he doesn’t want it back. When a PR disaster on his mother’s latest film hands him his dream role, it feels like fate. The movie is shooting in Crane Cove, the hometown of the love of his life. There’s just one tiny problem: she hates him. Good thing he’s not too proud to beg for a second chance.

Sybil Morgan has spent the last seven years hating Peter Green. Ever since he was thrust back into her life when their best friends got married, she’s done everything she can to avoid him—even ignoring him when they sat next to each other at Thanksgiving. Now that he’s starring in his mother’s movie, he’s going to be spending more than a few days in town this time. Sybil is sure she can stay strong and resist his charms, but after getting an offer she can’t refuse, she’s spending a lot of more time with him than she planned and she’s not sure how much longer her resolve can last.

But with chemistry this undeniable, will they be able to keep things strictly casual? Or will Sybil’s carefully guarded heart be on the line again?

The Perfect Series Wrap-Up

The Perfect Series Wrap-Up
I truly believe the world would be a better place if every man had his own Brunch Bros to be a part of because these men are nothing but green flags and it’s truly iconic. Peter and Sybil finally got their story and it was fantastic! With golden retriever x black cat energy, Peter’s adoration of Sybil was absolutely adorable and I ate it up. The flashbacks to them meeting and their initial relationship really helped you to understand just how well they worked together until they didn’t and fell apart. The “it’s always been you” aspect had me smiling like a fool and the second chance romance truly shined. Plus I don’t think anyone pines quite like Peter. The whole love at first sight thing had me MELTING. I loved Peter’s parents and I love that we got to explore Mallory and Sybil’s sisterhood more too. All of the characters in this series are so well fleshed out and you truly find yourself loving them all and rooting for them equally. We got glimpses into MCs from previous books’ lives and we got the iconic small town vibes that the Brunch Bros series is known for. Sarah has truly kept us fed! Sarah writes such great comfort stories that leave you feeling all the warm and fuzzies and I could easily read a book about every character that’s been mentioned in the books as they all have such compelling stories that leave you wanting an HEA for every side character too. I can’t wait to read Sarah’s next project!

    “It’s been a long time coming…”

I loved Sybil from the moment we met her in Keyed Up with all her beautiful black cat energy. And Peter? Sure, I liked him too. He was the classically handsome British actor a la Downton Abbey. What wasn’t to like? I’m so glad Sarah saved these two for last because theirs was a happy ending twelve years in the making.

With all the feels of a 90s rom-com, Coming Swoon was the perfect full-circle ending for the Brunch Bros series. Peter and Sybil are the definition of soulmates and he, especially, is the epitome of pining. She’s the storm clouds to his sunshine, the jaded realist to his hopeful romantic. Despite his big life and her small one, they’re perfect for each other—and he’s willing to wait forever for her to realize they’re inevitable.

This series was such a breath of fresh air. Men who talk about their feelings. Who support each other through hell, high water, and all the happy moments, too. Women who are strong, smart, and fiercely independent—but are also so gone for their guys. And let’s not forget Daisy, the goodest puppy girl, and Agatha, the sweetest stray kitty ever.

Now that the Brunch Bros series is complete, we sit and wait for the McMahon brothers’ books—after all, we know she didn’t introduce a family of handsome, burly brothers just for giggles.

And this is just a preference thing, but I love books written in the third person POV, and there aren’t nearly enough of them.

Another book in the series and I’m a mess!

I loved the angst and the pining in the beginning. It sucked me right in and I was so ready to learn more about Peter and Sybil, and their relationship that has come back with a vengeance after a 12 year separation.

I’ve liked Peter’s character since the beginning of the series and it was nice to see more of him. He’s all green flags and way too nice. Meaning, he’s too precious to hurt or hate. Sybil is guarded and doesn’t trust easily. I’ve loved her character from the beginning of the series also, so it was both a hoot and emotional to watch her get her HEA.

I adored Peter’s parents in this book. They weren’t really something I saw coming into play but I loved them and I loved the beginning half of the book and Sybil’s involvement in their work. That was where the tension really started to pick up and I love a good forced proximity that helps bring some of those walls down. Plus THAT KISS. I can’t stop thinking about.

One thing I didn’t love was how intense the miscommunication was between them 12 years ago. That silly mistake is what cost a world of hate and pain. And honestly, I can’t imagine how they weren’t on the same page after those flashbacks, so it was a bit of a let down for me, considering how much these two communicate overall. It’s believable, in general, and definitely an honest mistake. But I hated how their lives went in such a different direction because of it. BECAUSE I LOVE THEM and I just wanted them to be happy.

I enjoyed seeing the other characters as always and I love their true familial connections. It’s always a good time when the characters get together and I usually can’t stop laughing.

Read if you like: second chance, spice, cats, actor x cafe owner, funny and swoony sneaking around moments, found family, small town, “it’s always been you”, grumpy x sunshine, and all the green flags!

Everything about this is cozy, feel good, greatness. I love the entire series! It’s like meeting back with friends you haven’t seen in a few months and being reminded of everything you love about them. It’s witty, heartfelt, fun and everything a cozy romance aspires to be! Seriously, if you don’t like these, you don’t like happiness and there is no pleasing you.

This is the fourth book in the Brunch Bros series, and I feel like they are best read in order because they're amazing, but you can read it as a standalone. If you love a series that follows a friend group where they one by one fall in love, this is the series for you!

I have been on the edge of my seat since book one waiting to unravel Sybil and Peter, and my love for them did not surprise me one bit. I am a strong black cat x golden retriever fan, and the way that trope embodied this book had me screaming and giggling! If you love the "she's mean to him, he loves it" microtrope you will swoon over Peter and Sybil. It is so hard to choose, but if I had to I think Coming Swoon was my favorite from the Bunch Bros!

My heart hurts at the ending of the Bunch Bros, but I am so happy that we got to fall in love with these characters!

The Brunch Bros are the ultimate rom-com escape, each book so fun and light-hearted. I have been eager to read Peter & Sybil’s book ever since their history was hinted at early in the series!

Sarah writes characters that are as endearing as they are entertaining. In Coming Swoon, she delivers a black cat/golden retriever dynamic that will have you laughing and swooning in equal measure. I loved reading the snippets of their shared past and also Peter’s determination to chip away at Sybil’s carefully erected walls until she was open to receiving his love.

I will always share about this series and I am looking forward to her future projects - I’m so excited to get more from Crane Cove!

I had expected to love this because of Sybil. And I did! However, I did not expect to fall as hard as I did for Peter. He is a DREAM. Devoted, sincere, loyal, kind. A hopeFUL romantic who is unwilling to give up on the woman he loves and what their future could be. They balance one another so wonderfully, and their connection is undeniable (no matter how hard Sybil might try to do just that).

This story gave me all of the best parts of every rom-com movie that I have ever watched and loved. I adored the humour, the determination that love will win in the end, the honesty in how our approaches to love are shaped by our past, and being unabashedly, deeeeeply romantic. Pure magic.

This second chance romance is brimming with hope, devotion, found family, enough pining to constitute a whole forest, and the tender, soft love story that Peter and Sybil deserves.

I love a second chance romance so much and this one has my whole heart. Sybil is one of the characters that everyone has loved for the entire series but has been waiting in the sidelines for her own HEA. And she’s been waiting so damn long for it. She’s prickly on the outside, but oh my god she’s just the softest and tenderest being, who needs to be loved and adored exactly as she is.

Enter stage right, Peter Alan Parker-Green, nepo baby, actor extraordinaire, president of the I Love Sybil Morgan fan club and her devoted golden retriever. He’s been waiting so patiently for her to let him love her. Peter is the greenest of green flags (much like all of the Brunch Bros). I love him so much.

It’s a tremendous honour to have been even the smallest part of this series and to see each chapter as they’ve been written. Being able to go back to the beginning and see all the Easter eggs that were left in the previous books that I knew about and some that I missed has been so cool. Sarah’s writing is so so special and wonderful and I truly hope you pick up this series as soon as possible.
