The day I received my ARC copy of The Commander, I stopped everything and devoured the entire book that day. I had been waiting, not so patiently, since Second-in-Command for Julian’s story. I just knew it would be epic and I was so right. Melanie was such a tease at the end of Second-in-Command with the call Julian receives from one of his men seeing Tally and a 4 month old baby at the airport. He tells Julian that he would know the baby’s eyes anywhere. The Commander then takes you back in time to when Julian hires Tally as his secretary and the story of true love begins. But as often happens in life and romance books, a HEA is not that easy. The Commander takes you through twists and turns, highs and lows and actual prayerful moments for Julian and Tally. Can true love survive in Julian’s world? Grab The Commander today and find out, you won’t be disappointed. P.S. There may be guest appearances by two of our favorite Men of Hidden Justice heroes.

    From start to finish, The Commander owned me! Melanie Moreland continues her streak of writing characters that are so well developed you get caught up in their story.

    I'm a lover of series and often seek out stories that satisfies this love. I feel that Melanie Moreland is best at creating series, mostly because she makes each story of the series function well as a stand alone story. The Commander is no different!

    As the third book in The Men of Hidden Justice series, I got the continuation I crave, but never once would l have missed out if I had not read the other two stories in the series. However, having read the other stories, I knew to expect a great story, and I was right! This story was a slight departure from the other two in the sense that Tally came into his life in a different capacity.

    Where the other two stories clearly featured women who were strong but needed to be rescued from the life around them, Tally came to him in search of a job that even Julian agrees she shouldn't have. From the .moment he met her, he couldn't let her out of his life. This was evident by his thoughts when he met her..."I couldn't stand to see her walk away. I couldn't have her here either". However hard he tried, he always found himself near her and finding was to keep her nearby. By the time she needed rescuing from a situation, he was already invested in her and she him.

    Tally is a strong female lead that, despite the dangers around her, some known and some unknown, believes in taking care of herself. However danger did evade her world, and Julian was there as her protector. Once he stepped in this role, he couldn’t let her go…” I want you here with me always. Don’t go back to a place I can’t protect you.“

    Tally does agree to stay and soon the love they found in each other could not be denied. Julian needs to make a decision…when to let her know about his world with Hidden Justice. Before he gets the chance, unknown dangers threaten their newly found happiness. This forces Tally to also make a decision, a hard one.

    The Commander does have some of the intense situations found in the first two books, however, I feel the main focal point is the art of second chances, righting wrongs, and love prevailing. Julian emerges as a true hero, yes, but he is also a strong romantic lead. Watching him fall in love Tally and Jujube gives you all the feels! This is an excellent story!

    After reading The Boss and Second In Command, I couldn't wait for The Commander!! And the wait was so worth it! Julian's love story was similar, yet so different from Matteo's and Marcus's. But the love was just as intense!
    Julian is still the commander but he seems very alone at the beginning of this book. Matteo and Marcus have left Hidden Justice and are living wonderful lives with their wives and children. Julian is still in the thick of things in Canada and you can tell it's starting to make him weary. He needs a new secretary for his legitimate business and only hires older women who are fine working part-time and not being very busy. He feels this keeps his Hidden Justice work safe. But he gets more then he bargains for when Tally literally comes running into his office to interview for the job. She's young, attractive, and Julian sees her as a distraction. But he hires her anyway, and this is where the fun begins!!
    Tally has kinda been on the run for a large part of her life due to her poor family life. She has an Art degree, which isn't paying the bills, and really needs the job to help her get by. She's a fighter and a strong female character! I loved her!! She and Julian have chemistry from the first meeting and it was fun to watch them dance around it! But once they give in to it, it is amazing!!!
    Both of them keep secrets that they shouldn't have, which causes a split for a time. But Julian eventually finds her and she has a surprise for him - his daughter that he didn't even know existed!!! Their coming back together was rocky, at best, from the start. But watching them talk, admit what they did wrong, and admit they still loved each other was so beautiful!!! Then, Melanie throws me a curve ball of a plot twist that I so did not see coming!!!! Wow, just wow!!! As much as I didn't see it coming, it was necessary for the story.
    I loved this book so much!! It was great to see Matteo and Marcus again. And it was wonderful to see Julian find love and a life he didn't think he'd ever have. I hate that this little series is over, but I'm so glad I got to be a part of it!!!!

    This is the third in the Men of Hidden Justice series, and finally we get the ever elusive Julian's story. I've been intrigued with him from the beginning so I was really excited to read this one. It's somewhat of a departure from the first two of the series, which start out with some intense action where the Hero of the story rescues the Heroine from a dire, toxic and scary situation. The story starts with a prologue showing us that Julian and Tally, his heroine, have been married and then torn apart and then the story starts with their meeting.

    Julian runs a security company, but it’s also a front for the work he does for Hidden Justice. To further this front, he as a secretary working for him who helps with the security company. His current one is leaving, and he is interviewing candidates for her replacement. In walks Tally, everything he is most definitely not looking for in an employee, but his attraction to her is so strong he can’t not hire her. Thus starts their story. In many ways this is a very sweet romance, but both of them have a history and past that interfere in their future and cause some real angst and drama for them. I loved this, Julian is so protective and caring and reading about him with Tally and their baby was delightful. I’m hoping there is more to come in this series!

    A great third edition to the Men of Hidden Justice series. These men are hard on the outside but on the inside, so protective and caring for the special woman in their lives. Melanie Morelands books are always worth the read. Her characters are always interesting. I havent read a book I didn't enjoy of hers.

    I really enjoyed all the books in this series so far and I can say that this book was no exception. We saw Julian as the silent, commanding and serious leader in the previous books and it was really good seeing his playful side come out whenever Tally was around. When he met Tally, he was instantly captivated by her but both of them were keeping some huge secrets from each other and that eventually lead them away further apart.

    Julian did it – he fell which felt so much more sweeter because of how he ‘scoffed’ at Marcus and Matteo falling in love and leaving. This book ended in such a way that it feels complete. It feels like we’ve come full circle. Julian got his ending the same way that Marcus and Matteo got theirs.

    I love that this book is full of history about Julian and Tally – it really gives the story more depth and helps us to understand them both on a deeper level. It was genuinely really fun to read.

    This story is full of steam, angst, romance and drama. It is definitely not one to miss!
