Connectivity: A Billionaire Romcom (British Isles Billionaires Book 1) Kindle Edition
REVISED and with a brand-new Bonus Chapter!
One career-driven American ready to climb the career ladder. A reserved British billionaire with no desire for romantic entanglements. But when this assistant and boss are brought together by fate, will falling in love be the only option?
Mary-Kate Grant has followed every rule to the letter to pursue her dream of working in TV. Ripping a page from the “hard work pays off” playbook, she takes an assistant level job at a Chicago sports network to break into the industry.
MK is completely focused on one thing: her career. Love? A hindrance.
But MK’s plans are run through the shredder when she finds herself working for William Cumberland, a British media mogul who made his fortune with Connectivity, a social media site. William blows into Chicago like the winds off Lake Michigan and purchases the group of networks MK works for—and makes her his personal assistant in the process. MK hates her new boss and wishes he’d go straight back across the pond.
Or so she thinks.
As MK gets to know William, she finds herself not only re-thinking what she wants for her career but for her personal life as well. Can a romance with William be the best move she has ever made? Or will MK end up wishing she had never risked her heart in the first place?
Connectivity is a laugh-out-loud, swoony romance with a good-guy billionaire and hilarious heroine. A happily ever after is guaranteed.

Editorial Reviews
Review
"Connectivity is a very funny, flirty contemporary romance with two wonderful main characters, the perfect settings - written by a brilliant author. Loved every page. Very excited to read more Aven Ellis novels - can't believe this was her debut novel! Born to write." -M's Bookshelf
"Romance is alive and well within Ellis' novel, with a very appropriate title connecting a solid thread throughout. The setting, the plot, and the overall design of the novel is solid and true to itself. Whether it is learning to trust each other, dealing with intrusive family members or learning to keep your relationship professional in the workplace, MK and William are delightful and make the story believable!" -InD'tale Magazine
"I smiled right from the start, from the moment when Mary-Kate goes into war with the evil binding machine, and that smile never left my face, not even when it was 4am and I realised I still couldn't put this book down. I loved every single little thing about this novel." -Reviewed The Book

- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2022I so far really enjoy the books I have read from Aven Ellis.
I like the romance and the moments where I can laugh. In this book I was happy to see a bit less drama, at least in my eyes, compared to some of the others (and even if those did not have ton of drama, it was still drama I felt could have been resolved quicker). All this is in the readers personal opinion. And for me this story kept me wanting to read more just because of the romance. And it was such a wonderful ending that it makes me want to sigh content, and yet I'm not. Because I would have loved to read more of the story. Therefore the bonus chapter also helped. Now I must hurry so I can start the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2024I enjoyed the characters and the plot build, but found it a little too predictable at times. Good, fun story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2017I loved this book! This was actually my 2nd reading because as soon as every new Aven Ellis novel is released I literally devour them, so I enjoyed a little slower read of this one. The witty banter is fun and the tension/chemistry between Mary-Kate and William is off the charts! There are laugh-out-loud moments and such a strong desire to root for this couple...especially through the inevitable crisis. Even on the 2nd reading I didn't want to put it down...which is rare for me, to both read a novel a 2nd time AND to enjoy it just as much the 2nd time as the first.
If you want light-hearted, witty romances, with great characters, look no further than Aven Ellis! I especially like that while there is plenty of sexual tension between her well-developed characters, Aven never devolves into smutty and/or gratuitous detailed sex scenes. Outside of some mild language, her novels are pretty clean. (Which I personally appreciate)
- Reviewed in the United States on June 7, 2023So many of the chick lit books have such similar formats ie boy meets girl, girl hates boy and vice versa. They fight constantly. Then all of sudden they are madly in love. But this story was different and very refreshing. Would recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2021I have, literally, been reading romance books since I was about 10-11 years old. This book reads exactly like the old Harlequin romances I read as a kid back in the 70’s. Dashing British guy, cute young office girl. Hearts and stars in her eyes; him, rich guy emotionally stunted due to his past. I was actually predicting out loud what would happen on the next page as I read this. The entire book was a build-up to the big break-up. Only, the break-up climax of the story was pretty lukewarm. And, to wrap it up, the big make-up was full of hearts and flowers and tearful confessions. Like every old Harlequin I ever read. All they needed was some cartoon birds circling their heads, chirping happily.
The MC’s were ok, but I felt the heroine’s personality was inconsistent. At the beginning, she’s kind of written as a nervous, lovable, clumsy nerd. Then all of a sudden, she’s a driven professional career woman on the way up. In a matter of two weeks. Our guy was steady, but I would have liked to see more of what motivates him. There was one part where the H/h took great joy in ganging up on a peripheral character (formulaic office b!?$h who has designs on H) to put her in her place, which kind of made me feel icky for them. I’m all about having a backbone and not being a doormat, that is something I hate in female characters these days. But this seemed a little more than just sticking up for yourself, it was more vindictive.
As for editing, happily, there were few grammar and punctuation errors. Which is sad that that’s a thing in so many KU books. My god, sometimes I can’t finish a book because of the lack of a good editing. There is one thing that got to be ridiculous after a while...her laughing so hard she snorts, and him laughing harder (or roaring)because of it. I should have counted how many times this happened. The first time, it was cute. Not so much after it happens every single time she laughs.
Not great, but not too bad. I might pick up the next book in the series. But maybe not. <<sigh>> We’ll see, I guess.

I adore this revised edition of Connectivity. Aven always hits the spot with her couples! And that bonus chapter was just enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
This book fell into my kindle while I was reading Waiting for Prince Harry by Aven, all I can say is why did I wait so long to read it, now I'm at a loss as Aven has no other books out.
MK works as an assistant at a TV station in Chicargo, this isn't what she wants to do but thinks this is the way to get her talents noticed.
In comes William Cumbernauld who purchses the TV station where she works, their attraction is instant even though MK knows she should get involved with her boss, how many woman have either got involved with their boss or a work colleague, easier said than done when you work together every day.
I loved the flirty text messages and emails between the pair, all through the book I had my fingers crossed for them.
Aven writes devishly sexy male leads in her books and you can't help but fall in love with them. My heart however remains with Harrison from Prince Harry.
Her female characters are great to, easily likeable and you can really understand why the male character loves them.
Aven please write more soon.

3.0 out of 5 stars a sweet love story
So sweet and improbable it should have been called a fairy story.
The idea of a multi billionaire flying in a commercial plane, “luxury class” or not. In fact although a well known trope of worker meets billionaire, doesn’t care he’s rich etc. etc. etc. is so obvious, but still entertaining.

4.0 out of 5 stars Engaging Read
This book takes a different approach, there is more love & romance than the get down to it kind of stuff many other books have. Mary Kate considers love for her British boss and her career path. I enjoyed it and appreciated the author’s depth of events and feelings.
I recommend it to anyone wanting a love story.

5.0 out of 5 stars BLOODY BRILLIANT
Connectivity is such a wonderful book. I completely and utterly fell in love with William, and MK is such a charming and relatable character. The novel is witty, romantic, and so easy to get stuck into. Once you've started it, you won't put it down until you've finished. And even then you'll still be thinking about it and lusting over William and wanting to know more! Aven is a fantastic writer, her style is so easy to get into and she will make you laugh out loud.
Brilliant book. Highly recommended.
