Consider Me Special Edition Paperback – March 18, 2022
Purchase options and add-ons
He’s arrogant, self-centered, and the man doesn’t seem to know what a filter is, let alone how to use one. He’s had everything served to him on a silver platter, including endless strings of women, and apparently, I’m up next.
His only problem? I have no intention of falling for his shi—um, charm.
I have the solution to all my sexual frustrations in a drawer at home, and it’s far less complicated than Carter Beckett. Sure, he may be pretty, but he’s also a walking, talking reminder for you to wrap it before you tap it.
But then I start letting my guard down, and he starts showing me pieces of himself I had no intention of seeing. The bricks surrounding me may be tumbling down one by one, but I’m not sold yet, which means for the first time in his life, Carter’s the one begging.
For my time, my trust, for a single chance.
For me to just… consider him.

About the author

Becka is a steamy romance author, self-proclaimed sarcasm queen, professional procrastinator, and a superfan of dragging her readers through hell and back on the way to a happy ending.
When she’s not staring blankly at her computer screen or deleting close to two hundred occurrences of the word just from her manuscript, she can be found teaching kindergarten (gasp!) in Ontario, Canada, and mom-ing with her incredibly sweet and beautiful little boy (he takes after his mama) and her animals.
Though she’s always been an avid reader and forever dreamt of becoming an author, Becka didn’t begin writing books until after the loss of her brother. While she loves to include all the fun stuff like heat, humor, and alpha men who are secret teddy bears, her writing comes from a place of heavy emotions, and she often can’t resist letting those emotions seep into her pages.
Becka is so excited to share this journey with you!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2022Loved it, loved it, LOVED it! You know things are going VERY well when the 20-hour runtime on an audiobook doesn't phase me, and I spend time doing math to determine whether it's physically possible for me to stay up late enough to finish before going to bed (sadly, no). I really wasn't sure what to expect from this new-to-me author, but I'll admit that I'm a softie for a manhoe who is smacked upside the head the moment he meets the right girl - and that is exactly what this story is all about. The hero at the heart of it undergoes SUCH a transformation from start to finish, and I absolutely adored seeing him work to earn his girl's trust and love. The intimidating length is actually perfect in this instance, because this hero is working so hard to prove himself, persisting through stumbles and obstacles along the way. Mack does an excellent job of showcasing the growth in intimacy, the build of the relationship, and puts it to the test to make sure they got it right. There are SO MANY swoony, tender moments, which pair perfectly with the intensity of emotion and the delicious spice. It's raw, real, and just the right kind of heart-wrenching, and I loved every single minute of it.
The story follows Carter, a hockey star with a playboy reputation that he doesn't try to hide. No woman has ever made him want to change his ways, and he values his privacy and alone time, so casual encounters have always made the most sense. At least... until he meets Olivia. Intensely attracted to her from the moment they meet, it doesn't take long for Carter to pursue her. But when the sassy brunette resists his advances, it makes Carter work harder - and spending time together makes him realize that he wouldn't mind taking a chance with her. Unfortunately, Olivia is well aware of Carter's reputation, and she can't trust that his sudden change of heart is the kind that will last. Never did Carter think that his playboy ways would catch up to him in such a major way, and now he has to earn the trust that Olivia is so hesitant to give.
I've had this on my kindle for a few months, and it wasn't until the audio version released that I decided to take the plunge. Devoting 20 hours to a book by a new-to-me author is always a little risky, but I am SO GLAD that I took the chance on this one. Playboys always seem to fall the hardest, and that is definitely the case here. I loved getting to know Carter, and seeing him be totally gone for his girl was immensely fulfilling. This balances swoony moments with drama and angst, ratcheting up the tension in all the best ways. We see Carter WORK for what he wants, and that was such a breath of fresh air. The page count was required to truly see their progression from strangers to lovers to soul mates with the strongest of bonds. And having a smitten hero is its own reward, with some incredibly heartwarming moments between them... and plenty of hot, SPICY moments as well. It's such a journey from start to finish, and I can't believe how engrossed I was the entire time.
Audio note: I highly recommend the audio! I'd never heard of either narrator before starting, but they both give great performances in this dual narration audiobook. The female narrator gives a solid performance, but it's the male narrator who really takes things up a notch. He embodies Carter perfectly, this sexy hockey bro who is out of his element. Listening to the narration was a definite upgrade from simply reading the text, and it also helps makes the experience more immersive. I can't say that I recommend this as a workday listen though - there are steamy situations throughout, lots of language, and, honestly, the story is so good that you might find it too distracting to work, lol. At least I did. The runtime is also prohibitive, because 20 hours means you'll be listening for AT LEAST two days, probably more. So it's much more conducive to a weekend binge, but definitely worth the experience.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2024I think I am entering my sports romance era?!?! This series has been popping up on my Kindle Unlimited for a minute so I decided to bite the bullet and jump on it! I really liked it. I liked the world building and all of the characters we got to meet that will have their own books (if they don't already). I LOVED Carter and Olivia. The immediate attraction and explosion and then backtracking to build into something more. Something long lasting. The build up was chef's kiss!!
Carter Beckett has it all. He is the star of the NHL. He has a different girl on his arm almost every night and of course they all understand he doesn't do relationships. Like ever. His heart is wrapped in a cage of steel. Nothing can crack it after his dad passed away. Nothing except her. The one girl who makes it clear she is not falling for his normal routine. She doesn't do one night stands. She only sleeps with people she is in a relationship with. But then she caves and they have their one night, but instead of Carter being ok with that. He is totally confused when Olivia wants to try to be friends and he is OK with that because he realizes he wants more with her. I liked the reality of his reactions to his feelings- how he was scared and reacted how he would have reacted before meeting Olivia. Just seemed relatable. Like when you meet your person you know things are going to be different. There is a before and an after. I liked reading about when Carter realized he was on the other side of after! So now he is in this kind of friend zone with the door open for more IF he is willing to cross it. But he is going to have to prove himself to Olivia. He is going to have to prove that he has changed and get her to wholeheartedly understand that she is enough for him.
Olivia is doing ok in life. She has a job she likes. She has her brother who isn't too far with the love of his life and their kids. She doesn't get to see her parents too much but that's ok because she moved across the country and met her BF. Her BF who is dating oh wait now engaged to the captain of the hockey team. Her BF who tells her under no circumstances is she to talk to or flirt with Carter Beckett. But then she meets him and MAN does she get it. He oozes confidence. But she has a little fun watching him fumble with words when she turns him down. But he isn't going away. Even after she tells him she won't go further with him unless they are something more. He does the unthinkable he tries to give her more the way he knows how. He opens the door to his life to her which he has never done before. He talks to her about his dad. He introduces her to the man who saved his life. She meets his sister AND his mom. But she has to be ok with how famous he is. Can she handle the spotlight and the fact that even when she goes to the bathroom women flock to him? Is she secure enough to know she is enough for him?
I liked how this was so much more than a hockey romance. Carter had some real walls up due to the grief he never wanted to feel again. He was just waiting for the right person to come along to give them ALLL the love he had in his big heart. I liked how Olivia fought herself and her attraction to Carter to stand behind what she believed in. I liked how they were vulnerable with each other, and I liked watching them become more. If you haven't read this series yet, I definitely recommend it, and from what I have read it looks like they only get better!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2025After finishing this, I feel like I have a whole new hockey team that I can’t wait to get their stories for. Especially Adam. I can’t wait for his book. Carter is a playboy who Olivia wants nothing to do with for the very first part of this book. The way she shuts him down is absolutely hilarious every time. Watching Carter fall was so sweet and so amazing. His heart is so big. Olivia didn’t want to be in the limelight but the way she did it for Carter was just everything. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2025I wanted to like this book more than I did and I’m honestly thinking’s it’s more along a 2.5 rating and not a 3.
Let’s start with the beginning of this book starts with him literally with someone else, that’s not a big deal. Many live the reformed playboy he’s all about her. And don’t get me wrong it’s a nice trope, but we switched gears so fast from playboy to obsessed and I really wanted to live it more but it felt like this whole book was just too drawn out and honestly boring at times, if this was shorted it would have been such a better expierence.
Spoilers ahead!!!
And then there’s the whole Carter cheating issue, while we know he didn’t cheat, there was no context there and it was shattering! Like how did this obsessive man just cheat. Then he let her walk away and watched her break and didn’t tell her?! For real. I wanted to love it more because Carter was great but he messed up so badly here, so much miscommunication. And then she just jumps up and forgives him and then bam we are having a baby. Like idk I needed more groveling and better communication. All in all it wasn’t a bad book, but not something I’d reread and it should be much shorter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read
Carter is a top of his game hockey player and all the ladies love him and he loves all the ladies, bjt is a commitment phobe. He swears he'll never settle down until he bumps into his best friends girlfriends, best friend, who he has beem warned to stay away from. But when you are told to stay away from her, it makes it even more appealing. Olivia thrns out to be a pint sized firecracker to his 6ft plus manwhore, and she is the first woman to tell Carter no. This intrigues Carter and makes him want her more. But Olivia is a true relationship girl and doesn't believe in one night stands and refuses to be a notch on Carters bed post. Carter has a battle on his hands and one he intends to win. Will Olivia fall for his charisma and charms, only time will tell. Will Carters love em and leave em past come back to bite him in the ass.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved This Book Something Fierce!
Wow! Why didn't I read this book before now?! Consider Me was such a phenomenal read! I enjoyed everything about this book. EVERYTHING! Definitely a new top read this year!
"𝚈𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚏𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚕𝚢 𝚏𝚕𝚊𝚠𝚎𝚍, 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙸'𝚖 𝚐𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚊𝚞𝚕𝚝𝚜, 𝚋𝚎𝚌𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎 𝚖𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚎."
Let me start by declaring I have a new book boyfriend to add to my collection of favorites: Carter Beckett, captain of the Vancouver Vipers! That man was just... so dreamy. Maybe he was over the top at times, but I guess it was what was endearing about him, the way he so deeply loved Olivia and wanted to show it to the world. That guy who never had a real relationship fell hard and fast for Olivia. He was overly confident, but I melted for him even more in the scenes where his stress made him word vomit. It was truly adorable to witness to big hockey player lose his composure in front of a five feet one sassy woman. Olivia was full of sarcasm and I loved her to pieces! She was the perfect match to Carter's strong presence. She had doubts about him at first, but it was clear they shared a bond worth exploring.
This couple was simply magnetic! While their relationship started with obstacles and doubts, I absolutely loved the way they communicated through their fears. The way they verbalised about their dreams and goals was beautiful and proved the importance of their commitment for each others. I can't tell you how many lines I highlighted through my read, it's crazy! Their passion was combustible and provided some really spicy encounters. I adored this couple!
An aspect I also cherished about this novel is the whole set of characters. I truly loved Carter's teammates: Emmett, Garrett and Adam. These guys were so supportive in his good, but hard times too. They were an entertaining group for sure with all the joking around and funny bets. I can't forget about Carter and Olivia's families that also brought so much humor, but also feelings. Cara was a great friend to Olivia, that girl was fierce!
"𝙸 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚏𝚎𝚌𝚝 𝚖𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚜, 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚜𝚘 𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚢, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝙸 𝚠𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚊𝚕𝚠𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚒𝚖𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚏𝚎𝚌𝚝 𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚜 𝚝𝚘𝚘."
I'll now stop raving about Consider Me and how much I loved this book, because I need to jump into book two, Play with Me, and get back to this captivating fictional world!

5.0 out of 5 stars Olivia & Carter stole my heart!
THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!!!! Why didn’t I pick it up earlier???? Becka Mack, you queen !! Honestly, Miss Becka Mack writes the best Hockey Romance books – I am sold!
Carter Beckett is my new official favorite book boyfriend of all time! The way he fell so hard for his love Olivia and acted like the cutest lost puppy begging for her attention – Gosh it was the best thing I’ve ever read. Just the way he acted, the things he said, just everything about him was everything I ever wanted to see from a book boyfriend.
Consider Me is a sports romance with two characters who faced insecurities and fears. All of what they were dealing with felt very real. And they had an amazing friend group that lifted them and interacted with them in a heartfelt and comedic role. Carter was the life of the party hockey player who was a nice break for the normal alpha male. He adored Olivia and that always bleeds from the pages. He was obsessed with her from the second he saw her. Olivia was witty and relatable. She was always prepared to give an entertaining comeback at Carter – and boy he deserved them! And her hesitation towards Carter was completely understandable – given her past.
Olivia Parker – I loved her feistiness and sarcasm I enjoyed that she put Carter through his paces and was very very clear with what she wanted from the beginning. Olivia is a high school physical education teacher. The way Clara (Olivia’s best friend) and Emmett (Carter’s teammate) assiduously kept her far away from Carter all this time.
Carter Beckett is the NHL’s resident bad boy. He is both on and off ice the top Player and quite possibly the sexiest man ever to grace the field of Olivia’s vision. This man had one of the greatest evolution as a character! The way he goes through some major growth and realizations throughout the story – is so beautifully written. At first, I thought that is being just another cocky and stone-cold playboy that doesn’t care about anyone's emotions but I was proven wrong. The way he is being is way more than you think. He is a good guy and reading about his father's death and seeing his mother grieve causes him to protect his heart from everything.
The best part of the story though was the way we could see how they built up their relationship – they were both so understanding and had the best communication I’ve ever seen in any book I’ve ever read. My standards for men and relationships are so high after all these romance books but Hockey Players are untouchable. I loved how he was so patient with her and gave her space and time before she was ready to enter a relationship with him. The way he bought her a new furnace only because he didn’t want her to freeze to death in her apartment or how he assured her to catch her when she fell in love with him – HE is the best book boyfriend ever.
