Cornish Crusaders MC: South Coast Brothers #2 Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 193 ratings

‘Heather never expected or wanted the life of an old lady.’
Blade changed that.
But he left.

Now Heather has to put on a brave face and move on. Her top priority is the safety of her newborn son. To find that safety she only has one option. The Cornish Crusaders.
It didn’t take long for Heather to realise the Crusaders were a different breed of bikers. She was expecting history to repeat itself, but after a warm welcome there were no expectations of her, no disrespect and certainly no humiliation. They liked to party and lose themselves in women but when the time comes to defend and protect their club, their girls, their families, the drinks go down and the guns come out.
Just as Heather starts to live her life again old faces bring new danger and new enemies.
With all the secrets, lies and half-truths will Heather ever get to live happily ever after?

Kacey Hamford is a pen name for me (Kelly). I am in my thirties and started this journey in 2014, I love to read romance books about rockstars, so thought I would have a go at writing one myself. I really enjoyed it and got a boost of confidence once my books started selling.

I have gone on to write a young adult series, set in a college. The series is still on going.

I also have an MC series, it was something different for me to write and I enjoyed it so much, especially when I got readers telling me they would love to read books about the sub characters.

I work full time as a dog groomer, I love to read and my friends and family are very important to me. They are all so supportive of my writing career and encourage me to carry on.

I read the first book in this series and was excited for this book. Kacey Hamford outdid herself with this follow-up. I won't lie that I was angry with Blade, but I love him too much. Heather's struggle, his reappearance and their hot, chemistry make this an intriguing story that will have you ready for more. Ms. Hamford has a smooth writing style that keeps the story moving at the perfect pace pulling you into an emotionally, imperfect world. Exciting...Hot...Intense

In this second story of Heather and Kade, Heather is back to the Cornish Crusaders with Liam and Cammie. Still heartbroken over the fact that Blade just up and left her and still not sure what she was going to do with her life. Deciding she needed to try and move on, her and Cammie went out clubbing with a couple of the guys and she was finally having a good time for herself when all of a sudden she was dancing and a guy came up behind her and starting dancing with her, she was getting into it when she heard him say Hey Sugar. She knew right away who it was and she turned and jumped away from him, he grabbed her and went to a dark corner and had his way with her. Well she realized what had happened she took off to get away from him. Jumping on another bikers bike she told him to get her out of there. When Blade was finally able to get her to listen she understood why he left and what he was doing. Getting back together was what they both needed, now Blade is told by cops they want his help to rat out his MC, totally against it, he was given no choice. Do it or go to jail himself. This story takes some twists and turns but the truth comes out in the end.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Book 2 - 3.5 stars!!!

I was really looking forward to this book, especially after the epic OMG cliffhanger at the end of book 1! I even had this one on preorder but unfortunately it kind of disappointed me a little. Don't get me wrong, the storyline and action was great but, for me, it was too rushed with no real explanation of the main characters actions. I just loved Blade in the first story but boy oh boy he disappointed me in this one! I felt that Heather forgave him far too easily and bowed down to him at every turn. Although the initial reason for his disappearance was totally understandable, his continued silence and absence was just inexcusable. When they finally saw each other for the first time in weeks it was purely by chance and tbh if I were Heather I would have been left feeling like one of the club wh@@@s. There were also two MAJOR situations that Blade was in where his subsequent course of action was incomprehensible. If in the second one the prospect Drake hadn't been there then Blade's character would have been in the dumpster!!! I know I'm talking in riddles here but I don't want to give anything away lol.
When all is said and done, I do like this series but the lack of explanation and Blade's moral slip ups has left me feeling a bit down and unsatisfied with it all!!!
I do wonder, if Heather had been a fly on the wall and saw what nearly happened, twice, whether she would have developed more of a backbone and perhaps not been left at home minding the kids while Blade dealt with "club business"?????????
