Riley Knight is an avid reader and has always had a soft spot for gay romances. What could be better than a sweet story between two beautiful men who need each other? It only seemed logical for Riley to write these steamy, emotional romances, focusing on an emotional and happy ending.

When not reading or writing, Riley can be found wandering the landscape and loves to go for long walks and observe all sorts of people and situations.

Prickly, sarcastic Edward and sweet, determined Stephen are the MCs in this tale of a chance meeting under not ideal circumstances. After a snowstorm forces Edward's rental car off the road, it's Stephen and his mom, Sarah, who rescue him from the crash.

As Edward recuperates at the ranch owned by mother and son, an attraction develops between the two men. As it blooms into something more, they begin to wonder if it's something worth fighting for.

Both men are fully realized characters, who have you on their side as they navigate this unfamiliar terrain. The book is charming, sexy and undeniably sweet.

It may be set at Christmas, but it holds up well regardless of the time of year.

One negative, as I have often stated: I am getting tired of the small-large opposite in MM romances, and this one did not have to be that way.

It is not logical that a burned out, brilliant, and somewhat acerbic and anti-social New York City surgeon also needs to be under six feet tall and wiry.

It is also not logical that the last remaining male in seven generations of a family's farm be a well over six feet tall and full of muscle and bulk, and very socially unhinged and deeply closeted.

Other than that, I loved Edward the Doctor and Stephen the Farmer from the start. You know where this is going from the time the lost puppy Lucky finds Edward in a wreck in the snow and Stephen's mother drags her son out to rescue Edward.

After that you could throw snowballs at what might seem to be a overly romantic plot, but they would melt upon impact. This is a wonderfully romantic, not necessarily Christmas, story. I am going to search for more Riley Knight books because I enjoyed this one so much.

I knew I was going on a week's vacation and I wanted it to be as relaxing as possible, which is honestly why I bought this (that and it was only 99 cents). I had a feeling it'd be pretty simplistic and I was right. There were a few editing mistakes here and there, nothing too major. I was bothered by the fact that there was constant emphasis on "much younger/much older" when discussing Stephen and Edward's relationship; it made it sound like there was a 20+ year age difference, when in reality there was only a 10 year gap. I was also bothered by the fact that Edward was in such a seemingly awful car accident, and 1) he was never taken to a hospital, 2) he was having sex way before ever being seen by a doctor, 3) it was a week before his boss called to ask why he hadn't reached her brother's ranch (he could've been dead) asked how he was doing after the accident (meaning she knew, readers don't see where Edward tells her about it, and she seemed fairly unconcerned), and 4) his boss, Amy, is more concerned about what favor Edward can do for her and her brother, since he was at Stephen's ranch. No wonder Edward was a jerk, he was surrounded by them.

There is little to no character development, very little angst, no real drama, and Edward & Stephen's relationship is pretty much based on insta-lust and physical chemistry. Edward also does a complete 180 from cold, arrogant and prickly to nice & sappy pretty quickly. But like I said, I wasn't expecting much more than cutesy and that's essentially what I got.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved both the main characters, especially my little cinnamon roll Edward. The sexual tension and emotional connection between the characters was strong from the beginning and continued throughout the book. Country Christmas is moderately angsty, with hurt/ comfort elements, but the angst could have been pushed a lot harder if the author dug in a bit more on the events of the character's lives. But this is a Christmas story so I understand not wanting to go too angsty. Beautiful HEA. I definitely recommend.

This was a great feel good story with a sexy rancher and an older doctor that needed a major change in his life that young Stephen was able to help out with figuring out what is truly important in life... LOVE!!

First of all, I recommend this book for the love and heat demonstrated by Edward and Stephen. It happens that Edward came to Stephen and his mother Sarah's ranch during a blizzard after he had an accident and hit a tree. Stephen a virgin was immediately attracted to Edward. Things took off from there. There are 3 stubborn people in this story. The book is definitely HOT!!! Sex is definitely not left out.

Edward, independent, emotionally blocked physician forced to take a brief leave from the hospital has his barriers and defenses broken down when he meets tender, innocent Stephen after a car accident. They both wake to a life not yet lived, they both could not imagine.
    Sweet story, not compelling.

The characters really drew you in. I am such a sucker for basically love at first sight. Great ride, left you feeling all gooey inside. Keep it up. If you love Christmas themed and or Cowboys then this should be part of your library.

A decent story, good characters. Nothing ground breaking or mind blowing but an okay way to fill a couple of hours.
