Crystalline Chaos

Publisher Description

The world of Fyir is a place rife with discrimination, due to its turbulent past. The Central Isles are certainly no exception to this; their small residing populations of angels, demons and humans are forever locked in petty skirmishes and short-term wars. When a new, unknown threat emerges and threatens to destabilise the tiny continent, can the opposing races set aside their differences in order to save themselves?

Following the expedition to investigate the magical disturbance in the west, Ferdan Is left with a daunting challenge: How does he convince the three racial leaders that something is amiss while avoiding the problem of them implicating one another? Such a task is difficult to undertake without more information, so he undertakes an expedition to the west to find out more. Meanwhile, Sebastian the Demon King, Uriel the Angel Monarch and Thardosean the Human King mull over the messages they received, each contemplating their next move with care.

The world of Fyir is a beautiful place, full to the brim with life of all shapes and sizes. Three main races live on its fertile bosom; angels, demons and humans. A long time ago the three races existed in harmony, enjoying a peaceful life and nurturing their respective races. Humans saw the two other races in a light akin to gods, admiring their tall, powerful forms and their ability of flight. The angels allowed their command over the humans to control their nature; they deemed their once friendly neighbours, the demons, as a vile and evil race while exonerating their own. Betrayed, the demons tried to clear their name but their efforts were in vain, causing a massive war to break out soon afterwards. The war created a permanent rift, something which still influences the races several thousand years later.

The tales from Fyir harbour emotional stories of loss, anger and dedication. It offers a different twist on the standard tale of angels and demons, the names of such being decreed by the humans; the angels and demons once held different names, although much of the knowledge from this time has been lost to history, hidden to all but those who look. There is no inherent good or evil, over the years there have been plenty of evil angels and good demons, if history does not tend to favour the latter. Readers are presented with a world fraught with troubles and introduced to the people who live in it, following them through their pain, joy and battles. The lore within the book and the stories encourage readers to bond with the world, sparking their curiosity as to what happens next.
