I loved Wren and her ogre Carack! Carack was so good to Wren - he provided for her and protected her against animals and bad guys. I loved how he showed her that she was meant for him and the spice was also 🌶🔥 Definitely recommend this to all sci-fi lovers!

    Wren has been chosen as a tribute bride and she is pissed. She only had one more year to go and then she would have been safe, no longer eligible. She was not going to honour their choice instead was running away into territory that they could not enter and stay away long enough to not only miss the collection but allow them time to choose a new bride as so many women dreamed of this honour but not her. In her endeavours to create a hiding place she comes across Carack, a green ogre. She is actually trespassing on his land that has serious consequences although she is unaware of this. An understated violent love story.
