What a ride!! This book sure takes you for a spin. Shocked by so many things that happened. The end killed me because I was not expecting it at all. I have so many questions. I almost regret reading this book knowing it would be a while till the next book came out but I really wanted to reread The Insiders and I had this book waiting I mowed on through which was a mistake. This book was so good. Keeps your emotions running hot with all the mystery. Bailey really doesn't get a break from all the trauma. People are hitting her from all sides with no break. My heart feels for her for all that happens. And her mom?!?!?!?! Like no didn't expect that. And the last chapter!!!! Chase?!?!?! The chase that saved her from the beginning? I have been waiting to hear more about him and who he was and why he helped her but I'm actually stumped I cannot tell you what's gonna happen in book 3. I have a feeling it's going to be a wild ride. Also why did I feel like Chase has some connections to the grandfather and I know I'm not going to like that. I remember it mentioned that Kash has a cousin but it never said a name. I have a feeling coming that Chase is him and he definitely didn't grow up like Kash. Cannot wait... So with all my theories dropped and spoiled imma stop here. I could go on all day about this book really so good.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 10, 2022Loved this book. It had my emotions going through a roller coaster and I could not put it down. We come back from the Insiders to see how Bailey is coping with the actions taken by Quinn and Kash’s impending war with Calhoun (who I have some seriously colorful names for). It was nice to see that Bailey has been making some good friends and allies as the book progresses. We also get to see her begin to work her brain to take on new foes. Loved the development of her relationship with Matt and her other siblings.
Kash is not only having to handle trying to protect the woman he loves from harm, but play the game of chess as the war with Calhoun begins. On top of all the new stuff that is coming his way now that he is public, you get Victoria who is hell bent on doing what she can to destroy Bailey and Kash’s relationship.
The book delivers a gut punch of an ending and the reappearance of someone we may have met early on in The Insiders and the implications are huge and raise questions of what is to come. Thankfully we know that the third book comes out later this year. My biggest complaint is having to wait till later this year for a the Revenge to come out to see what happens next. What can I say other than I am hooked and impatient as I want to know what happens next.
Definitely would recommend this series and Tijan’s other works.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2022I loved this book. Kash is seriously the best and Bailey is trying hard to process everything because it all keeps shifting and changing. I highly recommend this, but.....I have 2 major issues that had me yelling at the book repeatedly....
One...why are obviously questions or concerns just ignored or not voiced? For example, unless I missed it in book 1 or 2, why didn't Bailey ever ask Kash about what happened between him and Victoria. Why didn't Bailey just let someone know she was uncomfortable with Quinn's sister around? That kind of thing happened over and over and it was annoying.
Second.... IT'S A FREAKING CLIFFHANGER!! I HATE going into a book not knowing that. I honestly would have waited to read it so I could read this with book 3. Just put something in the plot summary- what would it hurt? I was literally cussing at my Kindle!

𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲: The Damaged
𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: The Insiders Trilogy #2
𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿: Tijan
𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: ☆☆☆☆☆ 5/5
I loved this book just as much as the Insiders, if not more! These books are addicting, I could not stop reading nor did I want to. I was completely immersed into the world of Bailey and Kash. The pacing was very good and I feel like I was constantly on the edge of my seat wanting to keep on reading to know what would happen next (or for the other shoe to drop). This second book is also action packed, full of emotional and family drama, just like the first book in this series. Tijan writes in a way that makes me, as a reader, feel so close to the characters and the words just flow effortlessly. We meet some new (side) characters who I also enjoyed a lot. I feel like all the characters have so many layers and it makes them complicated, but also more realistic. Kash is still dreamy and strong and does whatever he can to protect the ones he loves. Bailey still has this soft side, but can also be very strong which I love about her; she’s not just an ordinary girl. The romance is definitely on another level in this book and I loved how the relationship between Kash and Bailey further develops. And yes, they have plenty of heart-warming and heated moments. Oh and that Easter egg, I saw what you did there Tijan… And I loved it even though it was just a small reference. That ending though, such a cliffhanger I am shocked (I am not saying anything else, because no spoilers!). I just (again) can’t wait for the next/last book in this series. I have so many questions and I am curious to see how all the different characters will handle the cards they’ve been dealt and just in general how this series will be wrapped up. Definitely recommending this book, just make sure you read book one (The Insiders) first!

5.0 out of 5 stars Woah
Woah, just, woah. You know when you get that creeping sense of dread that something big is going to happen and then it STILL manages to hit you out of left field. This book has it in SPADES. Absolutely 'can't it put it down' writing and with an ending that left me speechless.
I'm gonna need that next book, like now! (please)

5.0 out of 5 stars That Was Hellishly Good!💥
The Damaged (The Insiders Trilogy #2)
Bailey has to try & navigate life as a graduate student with people knowing she's Peter's daughter & Kash's girlfriend. If that's not overwhelming enough there's also her trauma still lingering from the two kidnap attempts! Someone close, at school maybe? Is leaking information via her family's loathed blogger stalker.
Bastion makes moves & Kash is severely unsettled because he seems to be targeting Bailey! Can Matt help give Bailey cover or will he just continually mess up? What is Kash up to with Victoria??😳
I'd liked the characters from school, not all, but the added value of them. The character progression for Matt & Peter, in particular, was pretty impressive. They both seemed to have their own separate 'come to jesus' moments about themselves & their own behaviour going forward!👍 This was brutal reading, at times. I really felt for Bailey & her clothing mechanisms.
Oh my word, that ending! Well there was sort of two. The reveal from Bailey, then a new character is brought in we know NOTHING about!😲 They're both *huge* cliffhangery hooks! Roll on book #3, yes I've already pre-ordered it!🌟

5.0 out of 5 stars Love, loved it
Omg… this book… Kash, Bailey, Matt… the list just goes on and on!
Passion, angst, suspense you name it it’s all in this much anticipated story. I loved, loved, loved every minute of it.
Kash is so intense and his character and the relationship he has with Bailey reminded me of how Mason and Sam are in Fallen Crest, so in tune with each other, soulmates… they know how each other is feeling and what they need.
Bailey also has all this trauma and feelings locked inside like Sam, she doesn’t process them or deal, she locks it down.
They are however in their own story, meeting under stained circumstances and trying to battle their way through Quinn’s betrayal and Calhoun’s evil grip on Kash.
This book will have you hooked from the beginning and have you on a 6 hour rollercoaster until the end when it will gain momentum and you will audibly gasp at the destination.
Superb writing from Tijan as always.
