Justin's most recent experience includes writing on the next BATTLEFIELD game at Electronic Arts and authoring tie-in novels for Galactic Entertainment's PLANETQUEST. He served as a Marine Corps non-commissioned officer in signals intelligence, was a Presidential Management Fellow in the U.S. Government, and studied International Relations and Economics at Johns Hopkins SAIS before traveling the world and ultimately becoming a writer of games, screenplays, and novels. He writes thrillers, military sci-fi, and fantasy.
As a writer and narrative designer, Justin is excited to leverage his 10+ years in entertainment to bring worlds to life for the screen and on the page. He has contributed to eight shipped games/hybrid TV experiences, including Telltale's GAME OF THRONES and THE WALKING DEAD. Justin consulted on various mobile and indie games and co-created the Reclaiming Honor series of novels with Michael Anderle.
He's super excited to see that JUSTICE IS CALLING has over 1k reviews, and would point you to that book if you like vampires kicking butt, SHADES OF LIGHT (for which Tim Gerard Reynolds won a best narrator award!) for fantasy, or the ASCENSION GATE series for scifi.
Oh yeah, and Justin taught Muay Thai kickboxing and served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2017Darn you Justin Sloan and Michael La Ronn! I hate giving out five stars and here you've left me no choice.
This is a truly great book. The perfect mixture of magic and adventure with fantastic action and just the right touch of a romantic interest. The characters started out pretty darn strong thanks to their development in the prior books, and they continue to grow in this one. I've become really invested in them. The writing is excellent, the plot is perfect with unexpected twists that make sense even if unpredicted - and a conclusion I would not at all have anticipated. About the only criticism is that, as mentioned, it's not -truly- a stand-alone as (even though there's no cliffhanger here) you'd miss out too much background not having read the prior books, but I can't really justify taking away that 5th star because of this.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2017I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I'm not a big fan of necromancy novels, not seeing the appeal myslef though I can see why some would love them. I struggled with the beginning of the first book in the series, but really enjoyed it despite all odds once I'd gotten into it, the second book I really loved. This one is just as well written, despite there being a tandem team of writers working on it - with all of the action (because it just never stops) it's not easy to drag everyone along for the ride, but they manage it! I didn't want to put the book down until I figured out how it panned out for Nora and Rohan. Good read!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2017This is the most action packed series! If you liked the first two books you won't be disappointed with this final installment. Poor Rohan and his women. In the end, he has a keeper. There was never a dull moment. I have to say, there is no way I would've ever guessed the ending! That was amazing! These are two very talented authors!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2017Death Crowned is the third book in a trilogy (and you really should start with the first book Death Marked). The story is a fast paced supernatural action adventure. Each book is pretty short, but that's probably good since once you start reading it, you'll have a hard time setting it down.
I received an ARC copy from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2017This is the most action packed book of the trilogy. Difficulties and disasters abound for our protagonists and the end finds an unexpected twist. I would recommend reading the books is series order so as to gain the full understanding of what is happening in this one. I received an ARC of the book and am voluntarily writing this review. It is my honest opinion of the book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2017I am sucker for HEA endings. I was getting a bit worried and upset Frank's and Ann's cackling and hope that they stay where they are, like forever. Like I said loved the ending and you fellows did a great job on this trilogy.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2017I just read this complete Trilogy in one sitting. This is not your usual necromancer series. It's not zombie apocalypse. It developes to a fast paced climax in the well written third book.
