- Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2019Loved this short story collection! The stories themselves are quite short so they were perfect when I had a little bit of time to pass, and the variety of subject matter while staying with the Science Fiction realm was quite entertaining. The stories had just a tad of a sardonic feel to them, like a mix between Dimension 401 and The Twilight Zone. They were creative and thought-provoking. The author definitely has a creative mind and also really encourages the writer to think about how the choices we are making now may effect the future in unexpected ways.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2019These science fiction short stories are a pleasure to read. Most are very short, a perfect read when you only have a few minutes. Their subject matter runs the gamut from robots to time travel to black holes. My personal favorites were the ones that raised the question of when does a robot become “human” in the legal and emotional sense of the word. Some of those that I really liked are “Iron Heart,” “Alexia’s Revenge,” and “First Born.”
Some stories in this collection also reflect what is going on today. “Invaders” is about two competing groups of aliens fighting to take over Earth, and when I read what some of the humans say at the end, I couldn’t help but compare it to places like Syria. “Enigma” deals with privacy concerns in a really disconcerting way.
All in all, if you enjoy science fiction and short stories, give this one a try.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2019A short book, less than 100 pages, but packed with good writing and fantastical imagination. Packed full of technological advancements in a timely manner not disrelated to the current advances in technology, this savvy author spins a great little story. It’s a most enjoyable collection of short, fast-reads, sci fi story. Perfect for a coffee break, a train ride, a respite from a busy day, or just a sit down to drift off into some engaging storytelling.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2019Deceptions of Tomorrow is a very enjoyable and fast paced read. It's an anthology of science fiction short stories, lending itself well for those weeks when you're spread too thin and only have snippets of time available for reading. There are several futuristic robotic tales here that are reminiscent of Asimov. These stories utilize that master's robotic laws while shedding light on the "what if" scenarios the laws didn't plan for. I enjoyed these stories, but to be honest, it was the last two stories that brought it home for me and pulled the rating up to 5 stars. "Enigma" and "End of Time" were especially well done and were my personal favorites. If you like classic Sci-Fi stories, give Deceptions of Time a read. I think you'll enjoy it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2019What a perfect way to pass time and get entertained in the midst of the demands of daily life. Perfectly sized for a quick read between chores or during daily commute “Deception” really brings the best out of the author. After all, it requires a lot of craft to write a succinct story which is enjoyable and informative. A job really very well done! Cannot wait to lay my hands on the next one to come from this very imaginative and creative author.

- This book is a collection of 11 short stories which deals with robots, aliens, black holes & time travel.
- The author has tried his best to examine the future possibilities & he brought technology alive in each & every story. - Each story is filled with adventure, thrill, drama & a positive outlook at what the future may hold for humanity.
- These stories will entertain you & open your mind to the possibilities of science & the future.
- These stories are unique, refreshing, intelligent, funny & emotional in its own way.
- My favorites amongst them is 'Grandfather's Paradox', 'First Born' & 'End of Time' 💕
- One of the story 'To Steal a Star' is repeated in this book. I mean it was present in author's previous book too but it wasn't boring to reread it. - There were some places where my intellect just gave up bcoz of the technical terms & scenarios were going out of my mind.
- But if you're a tech enthusiast & a sci-fi lover then you're gonna love these stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short-stories which are knowledgeable and humorous.
Deceptions of Tomorrow: Electrifying Tales of Science Fiction: Robots, Black Holes & Time Travel by Kumar L is collection of 11 short stories.
Reading back to back books of Kumar L has made me a fan of science fictions.
Grandfather's paradox is shortest of all the 11 stories and is also my favourite.
Other stories also have various aspects of future science such as robots and black holes and galaxies.
The book also talks about the rights of robots and artifical intelligence through its stories.
Overall these stories are humorous and knowledgeable and also interesting to read.
Narration is quite gripping with language being simple and easy to understand.
The book is properly edited as well.
Stories such as End of Time will make you re-think and also Alexia's Revenge where a robot is under the scanner of law and rights.
