Defrosting Jack (Ice and Snow Christmas Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 509 ratings

Thirtysomething. Newly divorced. Single dad.

Jack Reynolds never thought he’d be wading back into the dating pool at this point in his life.

To brave the singles scene, Jack decides he needs to lose his dad bod in favor of something a little more cut.

And getting back into shape is a lot easier with the help of his new friend, Corbin Barnes.

But then, Corbin just has a way of making everything easier and fun.

Even with his family drama, Corbin keeps Jack laughing with his amazing sense of humor and those sexy smiles.

Whoa…wait a minute! Sexy smiles?

Yeah, Jack can’t deny it. Corbin is a very sexy man.

Jack treasures his friendship with Corbin, but is he willing to risk it to take a chance on something that could everything he dreamed of…with a guy?

A very sexy, sweet, younger guy.

Jack might need a little Christmas magic to figure this one out and still get his happily ever after.

Defrosting Jack is a standalone MM holiday novella that has two cute kids, a meddling younger brother, a disapproving father, a sexy nun, a sprinkling of Christmas magic, and dirty fun with dessert.

I have loved this series so much, and have a soft spot for all the characters, to be honest John and Oz have always been my favorites. And then came Jack. He was so adorable, so loving and caring, especially when Corbin needed the most. I loved the scenes with Corbin and Leslie because I was a little worried about that. I wish we'd gotten a scene with her apologizing to Adam because he totally deserved that. Overall, a great, touching story from the future LOL as it all takes place in 2020

I very much enjoyed this book. The characters are sweet and loveable, they comforted each other, and had great chemistry. Almost all the relationships in the book are or become uplifting, and the one toxic relationship gets distanced. I found this a heartwarming read with a lovely HEA, just what I want in a Christmas story.

I think I remember reading the other Ice and Snow books last year because I think I remember the stories the couples were mentioning at the end of the book. This one slots in nicely. It is a cute single dad story that deals with the reality of introducing your boyfriend to an ex who might not totally be on board with you dating a man and the ramifications that might have on your child custody. However, it does so in a way that’s not too angsty, keeping in the theme of a fairly light holiday book. Now I may have to go back and read the others again!

Awe I loved this story! It was so sweet! Corbin is so lovable and so is jack! So sad for the series to come to an end...

Divorcee, Jack, is looking to get fit before heading back into the dating pool. Along the way he makes a gym buddy with Corbin. The two hit it off and feelings of friendship blossom into something more. Jack also discovers he may not be as straight as he thought and Corbin finds the courage to make a stand against his father.
Overall, cute but not sure it can be considered a Christmas story. Sure it ends around the time but began much sooner than that 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is a bi-awakening story between Jack, a 37 year-old divorced father of two, and Corbin, a 26 year-old gay man. They start out as gym friends, then become good friends, and then start dating.
Almost no angst, no conflict, just a sweet story.

Reading this book was a delightful treat. Little to no angst or drama, just two men slowly falling in love.

Yes,it's Jack's first time with a man (and he's adorably uncertain about the mechanics, lol) but Corbin has gradually gotten under his skin in the past months of their friendship. I liked the fact that Jack didn't freak out about being attracted to a man,the way he values Corbin for the special person he is. They just click, are perfect for each other and it was entertaining and sweet to watch their relationship unfold, from gym pals to boyfriends, and then more.

5.0 out of 5 stars My dose of happy Winter and Christmas reading 2019/20 #05
Reviewed in Germany on January 11, 2020
Finally!!! We had to wait looooooong to get to read more about Adam's kind big brother Jack! In Book 3 I really felt sorry for him running into a sad divorce. Now Jack is a new single dad and tries hard to settle into his new life routine with his kids and learn to care for himself again, too. That brings him into the gym and to meeting Corbin. With him changing kilos into muscles is fun and their friendship feels amazing and fresh. Soon Jack realizes his feelings run much deeper than that. But there are some severe roadblock „buts“ in front of their happiness to tackle next!

Well, I had been eagerly waiting for my dose of Jocelynn Drake's „Ice and Snow Christmas Books“ and truely enjoyed it! Amazing how Mrs.Drake again managed to write such a fluent, gripping story around such serious topics. The titles feel a bit misleading this time as Jack actually does not need a defrosting, maybe a little push from his brother into the right direction. The timespan starts way before winter, although it ends there, so technically this is a Christmas Plus story.

I remember I did not like Jack's ex Leslie much in the previous book, but here her development surprised me in a positive way and that both alway put their children first and treated them fair and honest.
My personal extra-plus-enjoyment was that in the final chapter all my beloved characters from the other books appeared again. They made such a great bunch of understanding friends that I sincerely hope this will not be the end of my favorite Christmas Book series but lead into a new stroy in the next holiday season about all of them.

This book was so lovely and sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed Jack and Corbin’s romance from meeting until Christmas.
Jocelynn Drake did a fantastic job writing and I couldn’t help but sigh at their courtship.

If you enjoy friends to lovers and holiday books, this is a good one for you.
