Destiny's Knight Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 8 ratings

Possessing the strength of twenty men, a knight will rise to rule the realms and slay the beast. For five hundred years, this prophecy has been spoken. It has hung over each king of Viribus like a specter—powerful, certain, and as unseen as the creature it speaks of. It has created animosity between those who rule and those of the bloodlines sworn to protect them. Each knight is the eldest son of his family and swears his allegiance to the crown on his twentieth birthday, lest the kingdom fall into chaos, only to be put to death on his twenty-fifth. Such things never bothered Princess Destiny, the spare daughter of a cruel king. She had no duty but to be beautiful and silent, or so she’d been raised to believe. That all changes one night when Destiny steals away to the garden for a moment of solitude and meets Christian, the latest of her father’s knights. He’s kind and handsome, and the hours slip by as they speak until the sun rises. With his kiss still on her lips, he tells her he wishes they had never met. Heartbroken, she asks him why. “My twenty-fifth birthday is in a week,” he says. Will Destiny be able to change his fate? Or will they be two more souls sacrificed to a lust for power?

Justina Luther has never been one to fit into any one box; as a girl she was a tomboy in high heels.

Raised in a house that didn’t swear, keeps her books the same way. While she won’t write a scene that would make your grandma blush, her words will push your emotions to the brink with twists you’ll never see coming.

From thrillers to romance, fantasy, and horror, she goes where her imagination leads, writing characters with integrity, transparency, and flaws, who don’t quite fit the box.

A Crazy Ink Exclusive author, she has several titles under her belt with many more to come!

Light book, not an epic tome is what I mean. The two MC are great, she is facing a disagreeable future, his is worse. So off they go. Now, I am not going share anything more than that. Because I am not sure I could write it without spoilers and still be useful.

As to book itself, the author, and her writing; Those I will write about. She has a bunch and a half of books, I'm impressed. Clean writing style, not all fussy with quirky mannerisms regardless of the story being fantasy. Interestingly she doesn't get lost in building up the world to a huge extent. It is solid, and the things the woman knows about is limited, but consistent (she is not free to wander). You can see some indications of trouble, but it wouldn't be dramatic if everything just rolled along. It is dramatic.

I liked it. And her writing style. I have a few more to look through, there are several choices, but I have no doubt I'll have more of her books. The sequel to this one, specifically.

I truly enjoyed this book. At times it was a little hard to follow who was saying what, but other than that I have zero complaints! I will certain buy and read this author again.

Justina Luther writes to a rare standard. In a world of novels where at least one intimate scene is obligatory, she refrains. Her voice is compelling and the story is often breathtaking. The story centers on a young royal who enters on a quest because of love. She gains much more than she bargained for and becomes more than she dreamed she could be.
Destiny's Knight could benefit from a nuts and bolts edit and more traditional formatting to make it accessible to a wide audience. I hope Luther writes much more!

I read Fantasy but was curious about the Romance Genre. This book was recommended as a great starting place. I was really impressed. It was as good as many of the Fantasy books I read. Great Plot. Great Characters. Nice pacing. It was clean and fun to read. I will be checking out the other books by this Author.

I found this book to be quitedifferent to others of the same genre. I purchased the book early because the author was using the initial proceeds to help a friend with cancer. Then I got distracted and let it sit for a month. But yesterday I pulled it out and started reading. I found the idea of knights and sacrifice being an interesting topic. I was quite surprised at the female lead's amount of growth. She became so much stronger over the course of the book. I'm glad I took the time to read the book because it turned out to be well worth my time to read it.
