- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI didn't know what to expect from a short story featuring digital forensics. I enjoyed this peek into a fictionalized, yet quite plausible investigation.
Kudos, Mike! You've included tech tidbits that provoke thought and illustrate how an investigation might progress without belaboring specific commands and syntax.
I confess mild disappointment that the regex to extract usernames wasn't included, but some readers might've wondered how such an egregious typo make it into this impeccably edited story.
(That's attempted humor, folks. It's late Thanksgiving night, I'm full of turkey, and good editing doesn't just happen.)
Nicely done. I'll be reading your other titles. Cheers!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAlways something new to learn or relearn in each of these cyber security thrillers. Great work, Mr Sheward; looking forward to the next one!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2017Format: KindleGreat read Mr. Sheward. Often times books of this nature present stories that are literally too fetched; can you say NCIS? I really enjoyed the fact that Mr. Sheward presents a real life scenario and follows up with how the case was solved (in great detail). Excellent! Can't wait to read the next one.
