Hi, thanks for stopping by my author page.

I write emotionally charged mystery books about ordinary people dealing with everyday situations until something goes badly wrong. (There is usually a dead body in there somewhere).

My first series - the Sophie Brown Mystery Series is dark and gritty. The second series - the Dotty Drinkwater Mystery series is cozy, full of zany lighthearted escapades.

As I’ve written before… Dotty, the main character, must have a magnetic field that pulls trouble her way! How could anyone be so unlucky? I know that if I were implicated in a murder, I would want someone just like Dotty and her BFFS, Kylie and Rachel, helping to find the murderer! I won’t give away any spoilers here… you’ll just have to read the story to find out what happens. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I can hardly wait to read what will happen to Dotty, Kylie, and Rachel as the Dotty Drinkwater Mystery Series continues.

I read the prequel to this series. Now that I have read this first and second books of the series, I plan to read the rest of the series as the books become available. I continue to enjoy the main cast of three quirky twenty-something BFFs that are as entertaining although as different as they can be. Whether I personally relate to them or not, I found their characters to be believable. I enjoy reading of their humorous antics and interactions of the BFFs as they worked together to solve this new mystery. This book is not a novel, I finished reading it in one afternoon sitting. I recommend Dotty Dreads a Disaster for anyone who loves a good mystery; but doesn’t have days to invest in reading a full-length novel.

Dotty is a bit old to be drifting from job to job. Or to be so clueless about men. But she is relentless about testing out theories of "who done it" when two locals die. With the help of her friends, she tries each theory on for size until one fits the motive and opportunity requirements. A quick fun read with lots of British slang.

A judge no one likes at the faire is murdered and Dottie discovers the body. When a friend is suspect number one Dottie and friends feel compelled to proved her innocence!
I enjoyed reading this book. It did need more editing and proofreading. Some of the sentences didn’t make sense part was past tense and part was present tense. I muddled through and did enjoy the storyline.

With the Spring Fair coming up, Dotty is trying something new. She is making chocolate truffles and other chocolate goodies to sell at the fair. As she is setting up for the opening, Dotty hears her neighbor, Betty Simpson, complaining about one of the judges, Nigel Hastings. He had a habit of being very judgmental and was very unpopular. Most people referred to him as Nasty Nigel.

When Dotty's friend, Kylie, arrived to help with the chocolates, Dotty took a few minutes to walk around. Near the duck pond, Dotty spotted what looked like clothes in the water. They were clothes, but they were still being worn by the corpse of Nigel Hastings!

How did Nigel die? Did he drown or was he murdered? Considering his reputation for nastiness, if he was murdered, there would be no shortage of suspects. Can Dotty keep her curiosity under control and leave the investigation to the police?

Diane Ezzard has another winner with this installment of the Dotty Drinkwater Mystery series. The characters and situations are very realistic and there is a fair amount of humor throughout the book. The short chapters make for quick and easy reading. There is also plenty of twists, turns, and red herrings to keep the reader guessing clear to the end.

Dottie and her friends are up to no good again but this time not only is Kylie sex crazed, Dottie can’t seem to keep her eyes off anything in pants. It was disappointing. Good mystery otherwise.
