From the Author
I spent many years as a speech and language therapist and I'm a mum and a granny. In this book I write about the subjects children love - dragons! pirates! treasure! - and I've made sure the story is easy to read and understand, with bigger print, more spaces on the page, and carefully-chosen language.
I'm thrilled when parents and grandparents email to tell me Dragon Ring has made a difference to a child who finds reading difficult.
Those emails make my day.
The second book in the series is on its way - Arkan will ride again.

About the author

Follow Frances at www.francesevesham.com to join her VIP list and pick up a free short story, The Fish and Chip Shop Murder.
One day, as Frances walked on a beach in peaceful Somerset, she came upon a unique nine-legged Victorian lighthouse. Her first cosy crime story, Murder at the Lighthouse, was born.
Now, she writes mystery stories: the Exham on Sea and Ham Hill Murder Mysteries, all set in Somerset.
She collects poison recipes and cooks with a glass of wine in one hand and a bunch of chillies in the other, her head full of ingenious ways to dispatch her victims - in fiction, of course.
She's been a speech therapist and a road sweeper, and worked in the criminal courts seeing crime from all points of view: victim, prosecution and defence.
She also has a special interest in writing for children who struggle with reading. Dragon Ring is an easy-read book, produced especially for dyslexic children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for grown ups and children
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI purchased this book so that me and my wife could sit with our reluctant 6 year old and read a page each in every chapter. My son absolutely loves the book and was interested straight away in it and his reading has come on leaps and bounds because of this.
This is a brilliant book, and I would advise anyone with a similar problem to us, to give this book a go, entertaining for children and adults 5 stars out of 5.
Pleased purchaser

5.0 out of 5 stars My son whizzed through this!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseMy 8 year old son loved this and read it in just 2 sittings! He is dyslexic and it’s been a struggle to find books that he finds interesting, that are at an appropriate level and that use dyslexia friendly fonts etc. This book ticks all the boxes! Anyone with a dyslexic child will understand the joy of seeing your child voluntarily pick up a book. I’d highly recommend this!!!

Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseBought this for my 6 year old grandson who dislikes reading. I've read the book to him which he enjoyed but his 8yr old sister has enjoyed reading the book herself.
Lovely clear print which is easily readable print.
Would be interested to know if there will be more books to follow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seven years old grandson loves this book.
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseWell set out and easy to read little book. Our grandson was gripped by it and read it from cover to cover on his own and gained a lot of confidence from it. The story may be a little quirky but he really enjoyed it.
