    I just love mail order bride stories here the author gives you a very unique story of a man leaving his ranch to the first man who can find a wife and marry her, she must stay on the ranch for 6 months. The kicker is the groom and bride can never have met. I just loved this story it is a wonderful sweet clean read full of emotion that will keep you laughing, chuckling and almost bring you to tears.

    I can’t think of anything worse than being controlled by someone who terrorizes and beats you. Patience will pull on your heart as you read all that she has went through. It is one thing for her but they have now horribly beaten her young brother. Enough is enough and decides to be a mail order bride. Her thinking is things can’t be much worse than what she is living now. Anything has got to be better than this. Here is a man who only wants a wife for 6 months what happens at the end of this time will they work through issues, find they are made for each other or go their separate ways? There are issues they will have to work out along with a few surprises along the way with a wonderful ending.

    With Patience on the run from her past only to find a place she and her brother feel safe and Harrison wanting land with a future to call his own these two make a very interesting couple. Circumstance has throw these two together leaving them to deal with major issues. Can these two work it out and find an every lasting love or will everything get in their way breaking up a couple that life has given another chance. With others wanting this ranch leaving one sore loser causing trouble at every turn doesn’t help matters. They have a lot they will have to work through if they can.

    This is a very touching heartwarming read that will make you laugh from start to finish and bring a few tears to your eyes along the way. This is one author that knows how to pull the reader in giving a compelling read that really reaches in and grabs you. It’s a wonderful clean read with a wonderful plot and delightful characters that really pulls you in. Inside these pages you will find some major twists and turns you will not see coming leaving you with your mouth hung open. The author gives you a wonderful romance with heart wrenching scenes that gives the reader everything they are looking for in a romance. This is a page turner you won’t be able to put down.

    The drifter stopped drifting when he got to Elijah's Last Chance Ranch. He took to the old man immediately and, like everyone else, liked him. Then Elijah died and his will was being read to everybody. And that's when Harris' drifting days were over. Of course, he didn't know it.

    All he had his sights on was doing what Elijah laid out in his will and inheriting a large ranch. That we would prove to everyone that he could do something and didn't need his surname to do it. And the mail order bride -- he could put up with any woman for six months.

    And then SHE stepped off the train in a patch-upon-patched dress. And surprise! Her brother was with her. Whoa! Didn't expect that. But what he REALLY didn't expect was HER. Of the men with him meeting the train...he was the last to speak. She wasn't a hag. She was far from ugly.

    A few people from book one appear in this story but are not crucial to it. So, you can read book two first and not spoil book one. Quite enjoyable.

    Kay Dawson has another win on her hands. I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. I found myself alternating between laughing and crying all the way through the book. In the beginning a deceased man’s last will is being read and he issues a challenge for his entire fortune and ranch, Last Chance. How did this ranch get its name? What was the challenge and who won? A young woman who spent her entire life being terrorized and beaten finally has enough when her young brother is horribly beaten. She decides to become a mail-order bride to a man that only wants a wife for 6 months. Does the marriage last? Does anger and guilt destroy a young woman or a young man? How does anger and rivalry enter into the equation? As I said, I laughed in the very beginning, middle and end; but, I admit to shedding a few tears in reading this wonderful story. There is definitely a surprise ending and that, to me, was the best of all. This is a must read for all ages!! I praise Kay Dawson for having such fun with her co-authors since she did such an outstanding job. I can’t wait for the next one!!

    Cute western romance and if I could give it 3.5stars, I would. The story and romance wasn't as good as the first one but the next one is kind of going back to that storyline so I will continue with the series.

Severely abusive, A young woman and her brother, a death, a odd will, wanting to win, restrictions, marriage, advertising for a mail order bride, answering the ad, leaving, meeting, marriage right away, new clothes for them both, enjoying the scenery, firing a ranch hand, getting to know each other, knowing the odd sort of rescued animals, getting along with the ranch hands. Will she find out about the rush for marriage? Will she stay or leave? Will she be caught for taking money? Why are the people she's see so familiar? Will there be a happy ever after? I would recommend this book to everyone. Buy the book to find out what happens. Enjoy
