    There was just something about this particular book in the series that just pulled me in and wouldn't let me go til the very end! It could have been the setting (Boston), it could have been the way that the founding families were discussed with the sentiments of the individuals who risked it all for the possibility of freedom, the incorporation of paranormal strengths in the individuals involved with the quest for freedom , or all of it combined in the writing skills of Brenda Trim and her writing partner. I especially enjoyed the way that the Boston Tea Party was used as a distraction for moving relics into safe places where they could be said to be hiding in plain sight, so to speak. I have been making my way through all the various series that have been written by the authors and can't wait for the next book to become available. If you enjoy reading paranormal series I can wholeheartedly recommend checking out novels by Brenda Trim!

    I have enjoyed all the books in the series. Sometimes I have felt that the relic book were a little to short. This one was not it developed the story well with epic adventures and storyline like all the other books. Cznt wait for the next one.

    While on a trip, Avery is in Boston and notices weird stuff happening and calls Nylah to notify her. So Nylah, Kaiya, & Aeira end up on Brylan and comes to Boston to look into it. Boy, is it more than they bargained for. Just another apocalypse in the making. Egads. I feel so bad for the team in this one. Since no one is to know that Nylah is a Relic Keeper, because some supernaturals hunted them to extinction and it was only Artemis’ interference that brought Nylah and her daughters into their powers. Things go from bad to worse and Boston is turned into an arctic supernatural epicenter for the newest apocalypse on the horizon and our team needs to work with the locals to stop the bad guys. Then there is more mischief and mayhem. I chewed my nails from freaking out so much. The team work together so well and it is a good thing they are so stubborn. I cried a lot during this book because things just keep on getting from bad to worse throughout the book until the end. I sat in awe of the freaky stuff they had to go through and everything made so much sense. I loved how the author used history and wove the Revolutionary War through the Supernatural. It was fascinating from my perspective as someone with a history degree as well as someone who loves mythology and folklore. I made a few guesses about the bad guys. I was mostly wrong. But, the book was action packed and scary in places. I just wanted to hug Nylah, Kaiya & Aeira. Plus, the team’s snarkiness while fighting is always good for a laugh. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

    We always imagine great things when the stars align. Not this time. An apocalyptic Ice Age awaits if the First Frost has its way. With a supernatural community of witches, Fae and even an angel on their side, Nylah and her girls will fight for all we hold dear once again. Just another day in the life of a Relic Keeper. An easy enough task, right? A heartpoundingly good addition to this series, seamlessly interwoven into the Midlife Witches world by one of my favorite paranormal authors. I'm still wondering how Ms. Trim does it! Imaginary mythical baddies, beware. Your demise will be carefully orchestrated by a master of her craft. I can't wait to see what the gang gets into next.

    This is the seventh book in the Dame of the Midnight Relics series and book fifty-four in the Midlife Mysteries & Magic series. Nylah (The Relic Keeper), Kaiya and Aeira are teaming up again, this time they are heading to Boston to hunt for the Elysian Scepter. They face action and mayhem searching for an answer to the preventing an eternal winter and we get a delightfully entertaining story.
    Brenda Trim is a wonderful author who writes amazing paranormal tales that are touched with action, fun and sarcasm. Is never fails to provide a marvelous and entertaining adventure you will be delighted to read. I highly recommend this and all of her books. The Dame of the Midnight Relics series is just one of the series in her Midlife Mysteries & Magic series and like all of them I cannot wait for the next one to come out!!!.

    Another adventure with our master of relics and her team of magical friends, Nylah! The most fun, humorous and downright real character ever seen in print.

    Nylah is attempting to get some downtime when is alerted to something strange. Turns out there is a rogue relic out there that can bless and curse in ways that are not very positive. This relic though, is in possession of an individual also not-so-pleasant and has ideas that are not welcome.

    As Nylah and her team take on this challenge, they encounter every obstacle along the way including other various magical and mystical individuals, some positive, some not-so-positive and all have some interplay during the adventure. It's up to Nylah and her team to outsmart the negative, celebrate the positive and of course survive everything they encounter.

    If looking for magic, intrigue, adventure, laughter and great interaction, read this story!
