- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2015I had surgery on 2008 and it's all coming back again, the endo - up to the point of a 2nd surgery ASAP. I choose to reject the surgery and look for alternative medicine. I also work in a organic farmers market and have access to alternative medicine. I'm a thru believer, that the food is our medicine. So, a good friend recommend me the Candida diet for the endeometriosis. I started the diet on December 18th, 2014, plus acupuncture + neural therapy + natural progesterone lotion. So far my results: no pain! (In less than a month of diet and the therapy). I also eat mostly organic and GMO free food (95% of my diet). I moved in a scale 1-10, 10 worst, I passed from a 9 to a 2 (a no more pain killers). I can know do simple things like cooking! Work! Walk my dog! I'm very happy.
So I bought the book two months after I started the diet and just recently go it, on my hands. I'm reading it. A lot of the information she exposes on the book is very useful. I had a lot of this information on my hands before, but for some reason I didn't put it together. I do recommended this book. My only advice for the author and the readers is do not eat margarine instead of butter. Our human bodies don't know how to process margarine. Margarine as GMO are made in a lab, is not a natural food. So if I need butter in a recipe I use "Ghee" or coconut oil. And please be patience with your body. I believe my body responded so fast to the diet (less than a month) because I been eating organic food for almost 5 years, I been avoiding soy + beef and other foods that Carolyn mentions.
Good luck

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2015I just received this book and it is everything I expected it to be and more! I had stage 4 endometriosis and my horrific symptoms are returning after two surgeries. I am now at a crossroads in life and still desire to have children. This book will help me on a new journey to a healthier me in a more natural way (trying something different). This book has a great deal of motivation, information to help guide your journey, and plenty of recipes to help support your committment to change (she even includes helpful grocery lists). I am definitely encouraged with this book and know I am on the right track toward positive change. I am journaling my experience and will return to write another review in six months.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2019I'm not a huge believer in the magical ability of diets to cure any ailment, but for anyone seeking to better understand what they eat and how they can modify diet to POTENTIALLY help ameliorate symptoms, then this book is a great option. It has something for everyone, no matter what food you're trying to avoid, and the recipes are novel, easy to follow and healthy. Focus is given everywhere on possible alternatives, for everything, so even though I don't have endo I found this to be an invaluable reference guide on possibly substitutions for all my recipes.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2021The content of the book is helpful for someone struggling with endometriosis, but the quality of the writing is concerning. This book is in desperate need of an editor to assist with spelling, grammar, and punctuation. These issues and errors create concerns about the author’s credibility, which made me question the validity of the author’s claims.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2013I've been working towards improving my health with a more plant based, whole foods diet, so I've been reading a lot of books on the subject. What really stands out about this book, is that it has tons of delicious and easy recipes made with inexpensive ingredients that aren't hard to find in my small town.
I've tried quite a few of the recipes and have a lot more bookmarked to try (Cucumber, Mango and Black Bean Salad is my favorite so far). There are a few fancier recipes you could use for a special occasion, but the majority of them don't take long to make, so you can eat healthy food even if you're not up to spending a lot of time in the kitchen, and most of the ingredients are things I already had in my fridge/pantry.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2014Great book! Thank you for sharing this wonderful part of yourself with women (including me) who need to hear that marriage is a journey and a process and it's ok to talk about the beautiful mess of it all. I loved your honesty, your humor, and as a career woman, who is on the fence about motherhood at this stage in my life, it made me realize that there is still much to look forward to in the next chapters of my life! Thank you thank you! I'm gonna try to get my husband to read and of course all of my women friends and family!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2013this book is very informative. i have learned so much, there are not many recipes, but if you read what you can and can't eat its easy to play around with your meals.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2019Some of these recipes are not entirely gluten free or dairy free, nor are they really anti-inflammatory motivated. If you need a starting point on how to change your diet for endo, then fine. You'll learn something. But if you are going for the hard-core gluten/dairy/soy/refined sugar free endo diet then this book is only skimming the surface and you're going to need to sort through its recipes at your own discretion. A lot of the ones that do fit that mold you could come up with on your own, so nothing super inspiring there either. I'm having better luck with the Celiac-inspired cookbook Jennifer's Way. She actually uses a lot of anti-inflammatory ingredients...yay!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pas mal, mais...

5.0 out of 5 stars Tolle Lektüre!

5.0 out of 5 stars Just finished reading this book. Very informative.
Was diagnosed with endometriosis at 22. Symptoms since 15. I have been blessed with two wonderful children, thanks to the fertility specialist who diagnosed me. He moved and I never saw another specialist, but followed his direction. With hormone treatment, I have been mostly symptom free. Now, over 50, the hormones have been removed due to my age. Symptoms are back, worse than ever. I hope to see what can be done with diet. Thank you for the hope.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice cookbook
This is a great book for women suffering with this, only thing that I have found is there is a little bit of false hope as. There are a few comments from others say that this was a cute and unfortunately there is no cure for this disease, but if it helps with symptoms then why not try it

5.0 out of 5 stars This is simply an amazing book!
I wasn't too sure about this book and whether it was the right one for me.
Well, to be honest, now I am thrilled I bought it. Here is such a wealth of information; certainly focused around endometriosis, but with such a wide scale of other areas where it can be applied, pain relief, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohns disease, Candida and many, many more.
The book gives such clear advice and information on the do's and donts of a good diet. I find this great because the marketing of the food industry will try to confuse us, pertaining to have healthy products when they arent. Here, in this book, you have the real facts!
There is also a plan on how to get started, shopping lists, recipes with all sorts of flexible variations and much, much more.
Honestly? A great buy. I'm delighted I did!
