Enemies Abroad Kindle Edition
The shrill whine of the school bell announces the start of each day’s no-holds-barred grudge match. Since neither of us is looking to get fired or thrown in prison, we war with our words and our wits. We prefer banter that bites. All day, I’m on edge, looking around every corner, expecting him to do his worst. Just when I think I can’t take the sight of his (regretfully) handsome face for one more minute, the school day is done.
Summer usually offers the sweetest relief—a two-month Noah detox—but not this year.
“We need two volunteers to chaperone a group of eighth graders in Rome” becomes a game of chicken neither one of us is willing to lose. We both want that bonus check.
“Back out,” I tell him.
“Scared?” he taunts.
No one thinks it’s a good idea for us to go to Rome together, least of all me. Taking this battle abroad will only lead to mayhem and misery.
DING. Ladies and gentlemen of flight UA447 with service to Rome, fasten your seatbelts.
We’re bound to have a bumpy ride.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2022I love R.S. Grey and this was another great read! They’re always fun and witty and sweet and low angst, which I just love! Audrey and Noah were adorable. I loved their ‘enemies’ banter and I love when they came together. This would have been 5 stars for me except there just came a point that I had enough of Audrey. I was with her almost the entire time, but then it was kind of like oh enough. But she redeemed herself and all was perfect in the end. Looking forward to what’s next!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2022R.S. Grey did it again! We take the best bits of Anything You Can Do and Not So Nice Guy and move it to Rome. This one is just Audrey's first-person POV. She's struggling with the annoying, too popular, and too handsome Noah, a fellow teacher. Due to outside injury and a potential bonus, these enemies end up chaperoning a group of middle schoolers to Rome.
Having visited Rome as a twenty-something in June, I understood all too well the troubles of crowds and heat. But the food, history, and culture do make up for all that, as Audrey and Noah discover.
I enjoyed the tropes used here, mostly assumptions and miscommunication, with some forced proximity and jealousy thrown in. No real villain beyond a lack of love, which is sweet.
This is a slower burn, plenty of witty banter and flirting, a kiss or two, before great bedroom fun near the end. Also, an epilogue for the epilogue, a nice touch!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2025I so enjoyed this book. The teachers who played practical, jokes on each wind up chaperones for students going to Rome. It’s a delightful story with plenty of history of their trip tours through the book. A fun read.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2022Audrey and Noah are adorable and quirky. I loved their enemies-to-lovers story. I loved their sarcastic whit and fun with one another. Audrey was a little obnoxious to me, but I enjoyed her for the most part. I would’ve loved a dual POV with her and Noah! The story was short and therefore lacked depth and we were forced to speed through some things I would’ve preferred to savor, but it was a cute story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2022This was a fun romp through Rome! It was nice to feel as if I was travelling with the characters although it maybe also gave me a bit of cabin fever, lol! Noah and Audrey are hilarious as they try to find their way toward each other. Looking forward to more from RS Grey as always.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 30, 2022Just want to quickly say some pros for this book:
It was unexpectedly funny to me. Although it was written in just the FMC voice it had me laughing out loud.
It is a quick read that has a easily followed along plot and that usual drama moment didn’t happen for me. I loved that!
I do tend to read R.S Grey books no matter what it’s about but I don’t always like them. This one I really liked.
If i had to say a con, it would be that after I finished the book I realized I didn’t know much about the H. I also skipped a lot of the details about Rome, because I wasn’t in the right frame for it, but I started the book at 5am, which might explain it.
It was pretty quick considering and someone could make the argument that their love is pretty shallow, like their hate. But she gave us 2 epilogues so we know they lasted even a little while.
And not exactly fade to black but there’s no real heat to this book.
All in all I would recommend this book for sure.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 🌶️🌶️
If I were to write a book, I think I’d want it to be this. Gooey, sweet, feel good. Loved every word. No big breakup or angst; often I really don’t need that. Give me two people realizing how good they are together and deciding to be together. 🥺
I had so many moments that caused me to smile and press my hand to my heart. It gave me all the feels and is beach reads at their best.
I could easily pick this one up again and again - and just might.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, sweet, and one of my new favourites!
It’s very rare for me to go for a book with no expectations and have it surprise me.
This was absolutely lovely and a far cry from most of the novels I usually read, but I couldn’t help but smile through the pages and especially through the ending.
Was the trope predictable? Absolutely.
Did it still give me hope and make me squeal when things ended the way they did? You bet.

5.0 out of 5 stars My new favourite read!
Every time RS Grey releases a new book I am adamant that it's my new favourite and Enemies Abroad is no different. I loved everything about this book, and I mean everything. Audrey & Noah, I loved their relationship and the way it all started out for them. This book will definitely have you giggling or full on chuckling.
Once you start reading this, you'll completely devour it. Such a great read!
Enemies Abroad is a must read! Definitely Recommend!

Honestly it's a great read. I always know I'm gonna enjoy the book when it says R.S. Grey. My go to books for a smile, a laugh, and less drama. Love the characters.
