Karen has been writing stories ever since her primary teacher told her she had a great imagination when she explained that her math homework had been eaten by her pet cow. Stories were everywhere she looked, especially as she grew up in between the pages of books.

She left academic life, headed away from her pet cow and towards the city and after many exciting “life experiences” (something she was told she needed to have to be a writer) she settled in a seaside town with great weather and even better fish and chips.

Having helped prepare her two children to leave home by teaching them their alphabet and the effects of vinegar on baking soda, she now spends her days working with her husband in their family business, writing stories, and gardening with her pet cat to keep her company and tell her when it’s time to come inside again.

Really, this is a first reader for kindergarten children. I think it's more like a bed time story to read to them.

This book is a collection of 13 stories. Some are short and very interesting and thought provoking. There is also a smattering of well made pictures throughout this book.
    The Bodyguard
Alex's mom is coach of school junior netball team. Mom Is Natalie and parents get crazy when they want their kiddo to be picked player of the day. He takes his guarding job very seriously. Someone tried to take the boy once before the dog came. Will that ever happen again. Will there be a lot of barking and teeth saying, 'My boy, not yours.'
    Cinderella Sarah
We were locked out of our house when my father died and sent to live with Lady Roselle. Every Tuesday he came to visit Lady Roselle. The Prince found the boy by the river. He was good at acting out the story of their lives. Lady Roselle didn't like the Prince having fun with anyone but her. This story is called Cinderella. Is there a ball?
    Eye'll Fix It
Jimmy had bicycle trouble. Mr Simmons, the school caretaker, might help. Greg liked to make up stories. His most recent story had to do with Mr. Simmons. Pizza, and eyeballs. If you have the courage, read this tale, if not move on to the next one. Hee hee

This is a decent book for read-aloud. I use it for Grades 3/4 and some of the stories have some nice lessons, too. Most of the stories take less than 15 minutes to read-aloud, which is perfect for a library class.

'Cinderella Sarah" is a group of short stories for children. Some of them share helpful lessons, like not putting things off for another day. The first story in the collection was about a young girl named Sarah. It's similar to "Cinderella."Although the stories are short enough to share at bedtime, I think the vocabulary in most of the stories would be too advanced for a five-year-old. In addition, I felt the book could benefit from more editing. If there were illustrations for young readers, I feel they would have a connection with the characters.

I had the privilege of reading these stories direct from the author and I enjoyed every one of them immensely! I loved how some of them contained recognisable characters from popular fairy-tales and the others were original and fun with characters to which you could easily relate.

What kind of stories are these? Very inappropriate for toddlers

I thoroughly enjoyed reading these short stories. Fresh and entertaining plus an ideal length for children to read or be read to as a bedtime story. They will love them.

No matter which of the short stories you're reading - it takes you on a journey.
If you like to read something related to the classic tales á la Brothers Grimm, or reading about a dog who's protective about his family - you should defintively give these stories a try, they won't disappoint you or your kids. These stories are made for everyone not just the little ones. So treat yourself, they will make you smile at least.

Hello! I had a great time reading this book because it is perfect for children between the age 5 to 10. However my experience reading this book was awesome because of the friendly environment and twist coming in between the stories. I personally loved reading and enjoying this type of books.....

I love reading this book and my favourite one is The Bodyguard , but I felt it needs introduction of the characters in the beginning of the story for better understanding.
