Enticing the Earl (When the Wallflowers Were Wicked Book 2) Kindle Edition
This wallflower would rather face highwaymen than another failed Season...
Which is why she isn't too worried when their carriage is held up on the way to a house party. Thieves are easier after all. When they ask a woman for her jewels, a girl doesn't have to speak, she just hands them over. Easy.
The ensuing house party, however, is a nightmare from start to finish. First, she manages to trip and fall and land in a heap at the Earl of Stourton's feet. And then the man has the audacity to laugh. And despite the fact that he's annoyingly handsome, his behaviour is so atrocious that for the first time in her life, her tongue unties long enough for her to tell him exactly what she thinks of him.
She'd like to wash her hands of the man, but fate has other plans. Lord Stourton gets tangled in her life at the same moment trouble lands at his door. And the highwaymen she thought so easy... turns out one of them is going to change her life forever...

- Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2023I thoroughly enjoyed this story from beginning to end.
Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. I stayed up all night reading it and it was so worth it. Owen and Juliet are such a wonderful couple.
I can't wait to see the rest of this series
- Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2023Lady Juliet Chant was at the Duke of Worthing house party where she met Lord Stourton when she tripped coming down the stairs.
Lady Juliet banter back and forth with Lord Stourton. They would dance at balls and she would try not to step on his toes.
Someone was blackmailed Lord Stourton and Lady Juliet wanted to help. Along the way they fell in love.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2023Enticing The Earl is the second book in the When The Wallflowers Were Wicked series by Daphne Quinn. I was instantly captivated by Ensnaring The Duke, and Enticing The Earl moved the bar of excellence higher.
Juliet is a wallflower trying hard to appease her parents by gaining a perfect marriage to compensate for her twin’s scandal. Juliet is clumsy and shy. I loved Juliet’s kindness; she showcased an inner strength combined with her inner beauty. Juliet was an elegant lady that showed brightly even when she couldn’t see it.
Owen prides himself on being a successful, independent Earl. Owen sees no reason to marry soon. His world is turned upside down when he meets Juliet. Her sharp wit and clumsiness endear Owen, and he thinks marriage might not be so bad after all.
I loved the back-and-forth banter between Owen and Juliet. The development of their romance was engaging, and I was glued to the page. The plot was eye-catching. The characters were flawed and beautiful, giving an organic flow to the novel. I instantly enjoyed Daphne Quinn when I read Ensnaring The Duke, and Enticing The Earl solidified her place in my favorite authors list. Daphne Quinn weaves an engrossing, poetic romance that captured my heart on the first page! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book through the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2023Despite having grown up in a very privileged home, Lady Juliet and her twin sister are gentle and withdrawn, pushing them to the outskirts of the ballrooms of London, where the wallflowers find refuge. Attending a house party first brings Juliet into the Earl of Stourton's orbit, and because he brings out the worst in her, she finds herself reacting towards him with unexpected ire, which only makes her more interesting, as far as he is concerned. Sometime later, when they once again meet, Owen is on a mission and despite his interest in Juliet, he knows that she cannot be part of his future. However, there are other forces at play and when she becomes the victim in another's plot, Owen moves heaven and earth to ensure her safety. The novel is a standalone and comes to a surprising conclusion with more than one riddle being resolved, and Owen discovers that Juliet is in fact the only woman who can make him happy. I received a copy of this entertaining romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2023Juliet falls for the Earl as her mother is pushing her to make a good match. Owen has his own concerns as the Earl with pressure from a possible half brother and blackmail. They are good together as they fall in love but there are some circumstances that interfere with their relationship and possible marriage. Owen proves his love for Juliet but she is still skittish as he reassures her and loves her fully.
Enjoyed the chemistry and banter, easy read.
I received an ARC but the honest opinion is my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2023Lady Juliet meets Lord Owen, Earl of Stourton, at a house party and literally falls at his feet.
Great banner/chemistry between Juliet and Owen. Plus there is a villain who wants to destroy Owen’s good name. Juliet and Owen were a perfect match. This romance keeps you turning the pages.
I received an advance reader copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2023Another enjoyable read by Daphne Quinn. Lady Juliet is the daughter of a Duke. She is shy and sometimes clumsy in the company of people. She meets Owen, the Earl of Stourton at a house party where she falls in front of him. Owen makes a comment which Juliet answers him back, which then intrigues Owen. The next time they meet is after Owen receives a distressing letter and goes to a ball looking for his aunt. Juliet sees him upset and tries to talk to him to help him. I did enjoy their romance, and I felt like the story was well written and flows very nicely. I will say I wanted to understand more what happened with Juliet’s twin sister, but that is just because I am noisy. In this story there is a villain, which only helps to bring the two of them together, and I like how Juliet saves herself.
I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest opinion.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2023Enticing The Earl is a fabulous historical romance by Daphne Quinn. Ms. Quinn once again delivers a well-written book populated with a terrific cast of characters. Juliet is a little clumsy and shy and was off to a bad start with Owen, Earl of Stourton. Months later they meet again. Juliet and Owen's story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Daphne Quinn. Enticing The Earl is book 2 of the When the Wallflowers Were Wicked Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliffhanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
