Exit Fee: A Pike Logan Novella (A Pike Logan Thriller) Kindle Edition
“Taylor is one of today’s premiere authors writing about the world of special ops.”
—Associated Press
Former Special Forces officer Brad Taylor’s thrilling new novella sets Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill against a Serbian gang that makes the mistake of kidnapping someone they both hold dear.
Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill are no strangers to international conflict, but this time they’re facing a threat much closer to home. Amena, the young Syrian refugee they have taken into their care, is having trouble settling into her new life in South Carolina. As they all struggle to figure out the bounds of their new life, a fight with Pike sends Amena running to the streets of Charleston, where she befriends a girl and her Serbian guardian who may not be as harmless as they seem.
Pike, wild with worry over Amena’s disappearance, makes it his mission to bring her home safely, but she is in much more danger than they realize. To make matters worse, classified nuclear information may also be on the line. While Pike is on the warpath, Amena learns of the Serbian’s true nature and the terrible ‘exit fee’ he exacts from girls who don’t play by his rules.
Now it’s up to Pike to find her— but the risk will be much higher than he imagines.
Includes an excerpt from Brad Taylor's upcoming Pike Logan thriller, Hunter Killer.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019An extremely fast paced novella featuring Pike and Jennifer in the leading roles. Amena, the Syrian refugee also has a major part.
The novella centers on sexual slavery and some of the corrupt individuals running it. The location is in Charleston, SC, and also features a civilian subcontractor for the USN, Lannister McBride. Sometimes lines are crossed and this time a line is definitely crossed.
Jennifer displays her talents in stealth and speed, as well. She is one bad a** Batwoman as the story will illustrate. Loved her comment 'Yesterday is yesterday.....'
The action is fast, the plot is solid and strong female characters complete this novella. And, yes it does speak about sexual slavery so be warned if that is something you are not comfortable reading.'
Most highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 18, 2019Action-packed novella. I read all his works, and this didn't disappoint. Sorry it was only 110 pages - shorter than advertised, probably because there's a preview of the next book at the end. Taylor's characters are believable, and the bad guys get what they deserve, which is very satisfying.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2020I usually don't enjoy novellas and short stories as well as full length novels as most seem to end abruptly without a true finish. With that said I really enjoyed this novella, it has a great plot, is true to the characters and is a complete story. The story concerns the young girl that Pike had saved in a previous novel and that is currently staying with him. Unfortunately she gets grabbed by men involved in human trafficking and sexual slavery. Now it is up to Pike to rescue her and if you've read any of the other books in this series you know you don't want to be on the wrong side of Pike. Another fine story by Mr. Taylor.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2022This is one of my favorite series along side of "Harry Bosch" and "Jack Reacher". I like the characters and the pace of the stories; not very many boring spots, in fact it will hold your attention so much that you don't want to stop reading just to see what happens next.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2020This book is 147 pages long in small paper back size. This is more like a short story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good addition to the series
I have read all of the Pike Logan books, apart from the latest one, and, when I saw this on the Fantastic Fiction website available as a printed novella, I immediately bought it from Amazon. A great short story featuring the new character of Amena and I only wish his other novellas in this series were available as printed books as I do not like e-readers or audio books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable, if short, read that fills in some story points from the last novel
An enjoyable novella! Taylor uses this story to fill in the Amena story started in the last novel, and meanwhile spins a short tale involving Pike and Jennifer. This is the first novella I've bought as a paperback, reading all the previous ones on Kindle. The paperback is anemic, very thin, about 100 pages of novella plus some chapters from the next novel to bump up the size, but still, it's funny to see this book in person. That doesn't impact the story, which I enjoyed reading (although I got through it in a couple of hours). Another excellent story, and I eagerly await the next full novel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good
A good follow-up to "Daughter Of War", although somewhat short, but I guess that most novellas are. Can't wait to read the next thriller in the series.
