Living up to other people’s expectations is hard. Weather it is true is irrelevant to some, that is what Tyler often had to deal with. The one person that he wanted to see him was the one person he kept pushing away until he couldn’t any more, Chloe. Chloe has a crush on the one person that held the title of arrogant and the reputation to match it. Trying to run from he heart she finds herself in a difficult situation and changing the course of her own future. A future that might hold the greatest love of her life. This beautiful and emotional story of coming into your own and charting a path towards a future that is both expected and wanted a future dreamt about is what they share. On a road trip cross country they find that some reputations should not be taken at faced value. That looking deeper you find the heart that beats and beats for you in so many ways.     I've read a few of the books in this series so far and I really enjoy all the characters. Mariah Dietz is a newer author to me, but I have become a big fan. Her characters are all well developed and likable. She writes about real life situations and the story flows so easily. She's one of those authors I don't want to stop reading. This story is actually about two different couples. Chloe and Vanessa are twins. They attend Brighton University, which is in Seattle, but they grew up in Florida. They return home for summer break and decide to take a few weeks to drive back to college and see some sights along the way. Cooper is Chloe's best friend and has had a longtime crush on her twin, Vanessa. Tyler is Cooper's best friend and got roped into driving them across country to return to school. This was a fun book to read. Lots of drama and some fun antics while also touching on harder subject matter. Looking forward to finishing the series!!!

    This was not my favorite but goodness it was still good! I'm so excited I have found this author. This book is about Chloe & Tests taking a trip across country with 2 guys. They were suppose to go with another girlfriend but she backed out. That leaves them going with Chloe's best friend Cooper. Well Cooper invites a friend to go and they all end up on thks trip. Along the way they all find that they everyone Nd everything isn't as it seems. Friendships are tdsted, Chloe and Ty try to be civil to each othef. There is Lot going on in this book and it is really interesting seeing everyone find their way.

    Mariah Dietz is a new-to-me author and, “Exploring the Rules” is my first read of hers. Well, it certainly won’t be my last!

    This story is 4 college students, heading into their junior year & taking a road trip from Florida (where they live) to Seattle, to return for the Fall. We have Chloe & Nessa, twin sisters, and Cooper & Tyler, who are both on the college football team.

    Chloe & Cooper have been best friends for many years. Chloe’s sister, Nessa, and Cooper like each other & think this road trip would be a great way to get to know each other better. What Chloe does not expect is seeing Tyler get out of the car as the guys come to pick up the girls. She’s not happy that Nessa kept this small detail from her. Chloe met Tyler during their freshman year & while at a party, they shared a kiss and after that, he avoided her (and she he) like the plague. She’s never forgiven him for that night and is extremely unhappy that he’s part of their adventure traveling cross country back to school.

    As the 4 start off, we find that Tyler is actually working on this trip for his father. His family is extremely wealthy & owns numerous hotels around the world. Tyler wants his father to see that he’s the right choice to succeed him when he retires & sets out to prove himself. In fact, each city they stay in, they’re treated to beautiful suites in the hotels owned by his family.

    Will Nessa & Cooper discover that they really are happy together? Will Chloe get over being in the car for weeks with Tyler? Will Nessa be able to handle the strength of Chloe & Cooper’s friendship, as she tries to navigate her way with her sister’s best friend? Can Chloe forgive Tyler & see him for who he really is?

    This book is about love, friendship, family, navigating relationships that become tricky and so much more. The characters were well-developed, and I really enjoyed reading the descriptions of the cities they stayed in. (It’s a road trip I’d like to take myself!!). This book, for me, hit all the right buttons. I really look forward to reading more from Ms. Dietz!

    I think I found a new favorite author. I loved this book because I must be in love with falling in love. Tyler and Chloe’s chemistry and impending romance was obvious, but the twists and turns were endearing. Then the end when he comes back to Seattle to claim the girl where he lists his reasons for loving her just melted my heart!!! Bravo, Mariah Dietz!!!

    I really liked this story and the connection between the two main characters... until th author made the mistake of doing the impossible over the top pornstar type of intimate scene. It was probably the worst over read in a long time. The heroine goes from innocent virgin to porn star instantly. There is none of the teal aspects of a young woman losing her virginity. The girl decides to randomly do it in a club, standing up against a railing. And they instantly fit perfectly and it was amazing. Sure... someone who has never done anything can navigate a complicated position with mind blowing results and have thus life changing experience. This was so dumb. It isn’t sexy, I literally laughed and rolled my eyes because it was that bad. I hate it when authors think they have to try this hard for the smexy scenes. I like these scenes usually. I’m definitely not a prudish person, but I’m not reading the book for those scenes. I would just read strait erotica if I was in the mood. So it’s more important to me to have some honestly and realism. If the scenes are ridiculously gratuitous, it ruins the book. Such as the case here, where I skimmed the rest of book. I just couldn’t take it seriously after that. I had to give it 2.75 stars for the potential and

    Chloe has a lot of personality and backbone. She’s cool and I really liked her. Tyler is kind of jerky but he can be a better person and actually, grows. That was nice.

    Cooper and Vanessa are way funny and I love them. Their love story and personalities are the best.

    The story at some points was kind of redundant and trying for me to read but overall I enjoyed it.

    However, the amazing fact about this book and the message that I took out from this: violence against women and how used to it we appear to be.

    Women approached in a sexual manner because of the way the look, they dress or just because they are women.
    How men feel entitled to make girls feel like objects and garbage just because they feel like it. The author made an amazing job pointing this out and I hope this book creates awareness to everyone that reads it, helping to not normalize this attitudes and change them.
