About the authors
David Owain Hughes is a word-slinger of horror and crime fiction, who grew up on trashy b-movies from the age of five which helped rapidly instil in him a vivid imagination. He’s had multiple short stories published in various online magazines and anthologies, along with articles, reviews and interviews. He’s written for This Is Horror, Blood Magazine, and Horror Geeks Magazine.
Hughes is the author of six horror novels, four short story collections and a plethora of novellas. Although he predominately writes within the bracket of horror and its multiple sub-genres, he’s recently branched out into crime fiction and is slowly carving out a superb series of crime/noir thrillers under the umbrella title of South Wales.
Larry Hinkle is the least famous writer you’ve never heard of. A copywriter living with his wife and two doggos in Rockville, Maryland, when he's not writing stories that scare people into peeing their pants, he writes ads that scare people into buying adult diapers so they’re not caught peeing their pants.
"The Eris Ridge Trail," his new cosmic horror road trip novella (with dogs!) was released in March 2025, while his debut collection, “The Space Between,” came out in February 2024.
His work has also appeared in "October Screams: A Halloween Anthology," "The Rack: Stories Inspired by Vintage Horror Paperbacks," and The NoSleep Podcast, among others.
He's an active member of the HWA (his short stories made the preliminary Stoker ballot in 2020 and 2022); a graduate of Fright Club and Crystal Lake’s Author’s Journey program; an HWA mentee; and a survivor of the Borderlands Writers Bootcamp.
Kevin J. Kennedy is a horror author, editor, and anthologist. He is also the owner of KJK Publishing and he runs the bestselling 'The Horror Collection' series.’ He is the author of Halloween Land, and The Clown.
He lives in the heart of Scotland with his beautiful wife, three cats, Carlito, Ariel and Luna, and a Pomchi called Orko. He can be found on Facebook if you want to chat with him.
Kim Plasket is a Jersey girl at heart relocated to sunny Florida. She enjoys writing mainly horror and paranormal stories. She lives with her husband and 2 kids. When she is not slaving away at her day job, she can be found drinking coffee and planning the demise of some poor character. She has moved from horror to paranormal romance. It’s a switch but so far it’s been fun.
Peter lives with his wife and five children in a small town in Sussex, England. For as long as he can remember it had always been an ambition to complete a novel and, after the success of his debut, The Broken Doll, it has been fantastic to have the opportunity to turn a hobby into a new career. Since the release of The Broken Doll in February 2017, Peter has released the follow-up novel, Shattered Pieces, as well as seven collections of short horror stories, a horror novella, and three children's books. Peter has had work published in numerous anthologies, is the Editor-in-Chief of Indie Writers Review, and is the co-founder of Red Cape Publishing.
Serena Jayne received her MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. She’s worked as a research scientist, a fish stick slinger, a chat wrangler, and a race horse narc. When she isn’t trolling art museums for works that move her, she enjoys writing in multiple fiction genres. While her first love is all things paranormal, the mundane world provides plenty of story ideas.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2021A great mix of horror horror stories that are all well written. Each one is uniquely different and the creep factor is definitely there. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a great mix of horror stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2022This is a really fun collection of drabbles. I'm new to reading drabbles and find they make for the perfect stories to read in the parked car or waiting room while life is essentially paused. Its a very fun assortment. Not quite as extreme as I had imagined but still very entertaining and some were very memorable!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2020Check out the ebook page for the full list of authors, about seven or so seem to have been cut off. I can vouche for a lot of these authors; they are all cool sick minded individuals. And can there be two more awesome and beautiful ladies to write for than Eleonor and Cassandra? This should be great. All the books under the Macabre Ladies line look fantastic. Can't go wrong here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely dreadful stories
Splendid storytelling by each one of the authors! Reading the book was like a rollercoaster ride with a relief at the end of every story and getting ready for the next one. My friend Aishwariyalaxmi has penned a story in this anthology. I have read many of her works and this was a new genre in her writing. She is a versatile writer who can impress her readers very easily. I initially borrowed the book only to read her story. Then i selectively picked stories, here and there. Finally i couldn't resist and i read cover to cover. Best wishes to all the authors.
