Finding His Place Kindle Edition
Kieran Walters is the illegitimate son of a successful businessman. Despite striving to win his father’s affection, a confrontation that has been years in the making leaves Kieran devastated to realize he will never be good enough. Jealous of the half brother he’s never met, and who most likely doesn’t know of his existence, Kieran vows to find out what makes his brother so special in their father’s eyes.
Darius Jensen manages a nightclub. He loves his job, but is reluctant to commit when given the opportunity to become a partner. His previous foray into business ownership with a boyfriend had disastrous results, and Darius is still paying the price, both financially and emotionally.
When Kieran starts working with Darius at Sparks, Darius shows him it’s not too late for Kieran to realize his dreams—the fulfilling career, a loving family, and someone who loves him for who he is. If only Kieran can convince Darius of the same thing. But before Kieran’s and Darius’s dreams can come true, Kieran needs to come clean with his brother and deal with the resulting fallout… which threatens his relationship with Darius.

Editorial Reviews
Review
"I thought Nic Starr did a wonderful job of incorporating her new character of Kieran into Felice Stevens' Breakfast Club world, while still creating a love story that stands on its own for readers not familiar with the original books. There's a bit of action at the end but overall it's a sweet, slow-burn love story. I loved watching Kieran slowly start living life the way he wanted it and getting not just everything he wanted with his sexy crush, but the family he so deserved." ~ Sinfully... Addicted To All Male Romance
"I've read several books by Nic Starr and I've come to expect a few things from her stories. First, Nic writes compelling heroes that live and breathe off of the written page. It's easy to get wrapped up into the lives of her characters and enjoy the story they have to tell." ~ Top 2 Bottom Reviews

About the author

Nic Starr lives in Australia where she tries to squeeze as much into her busy life as possible. Balancing the demands of a corporate career with raising a family and writing can be challenging but she wouldn’t give it up for the world.
Always a reader, the lure of m/m romance was strong and she devoured hundreds of wonderful m/m romance books before eventually realising she had some stories of her own that needed to be told!
When not writing or reading, she loves to spend time with her family–an understanding husband and two beautiful daughters–and is often found indulging in her love of cooking and planning her dream home in the country.
You can find Nic on Facebook, Twitter and her blog. She’d love it if you stopped by to say hi.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2018Finding His place takes the reader into the world created by Felice Stevens in her Breakfast Club series. I loved that series and would highly recommend it to other readers. It was fun to enter this world from a completely different perspective.
Kieran Walters is a sweetheart who has worked incredibly hard to get where he is today. Trying to impress his absent father by getting a business degree has not lead him to the happiness he wants and deserves. Taking a bartending job at Sparks while he makes some important life decisions leads him to club manager Darius Jensen. Their attraction is instantaneous but Kieran has secrets he’s afraid to tell. Secrets that may take away any chance of a future for these two slightly broken men. They will need to learn to trust each other moving forward if they have any chance of a HEA.
Finding His Place is a fun, light read that will leave you with a smile on your face at its highly satisfying conclusion.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2017This segment of the follow-up novellas to Felice Stevens' "The Breakfast Club" series is far more dependent on one of the original novels than the others. That Nic Starr has been able to carry off the trick is worth five stars alone. But the characters, plot and eventual resolution are really cool.
"Second to No One" is the original from the series, in which fabulously successful gay nightclub owner (of Sparks) Marcus Feldman and down-on-his-luck dancer Tyler Reiss found themselves in love, and eventual guardians of the precocious Lilli. It's important you read that one first.
That's because when you are introduced in this one to Kieran Walters (left on the cover) you will also hook up once again with Marcus' manager, Darius--and from there the tale unfolds into unintended duplicity and consequences, as well as reluctant romance.
This one pushes all the right buttons and bells, and the anticipated showdown between Kieran and Marcus (no spoilers) comes unexpectedly and with some real potential calamity. But in the end we get a sweet tale with the whole Breakfast Club gang weaving in and out to their--and your--hearts content.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2018For starters, the author did Felice Stevens proud writing in her world. She made amazing use of the established characters, writing them true and writing a story that is just incredible! Darius and Kieran are so wonderful together, and their story was a joy to read. By the end I was crying lots of happy tears and so glad I chose to read this book. I have been tentative about reading these forays into Ms. Stevens' world because she and this series are one of my favorite authors and series in all the m/m romance I have read. But wuth Ms Starr there was nothing to worry about cuz this story was everything I could have hoped for!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2017This is more of 3.5 Stars. This was a good book and the writing was good. The characters were well developed and thought out. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters interesting. Darius and Kieran are the MC’s of this book. The biggest problem that I have with the book is the timing of events. You’re almost a quarter of the way into the book before the you even meet Darius or the 2 MC’s meet each other and by the time they actually get together the book is almost done. There is story and detail and that is why I can still say it was good but I want more story of them together. I also would have liked to have known more about Darius. I would still recommend this as a good read because I did enjoy it. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2018I liked this story
* Good storyline with a steady build up
* The characters was well described and the feelings came through in the writing style. I got curious about the secondary characters so I might have to read their stories too.
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings and enough dialogues to keep my interest
* The attraction building between Darius and Kearan is very nicely described and when they come together it’s a emotional moment.
I think I’ve found another author I have to read more books from.
5 stars 🌟 because I couldn’t stop reading
