Jacki James has been saying she was going to write a book since she was sixteen and wrote fanfiction (before fanfiction had a name) about her favorite Rockstar. She is a believer in love of all kinds but MM romance is her favorite by far. She has a romantic heart and a dirty mind and likes to write stories that let both shine.

When she isn’t writing she is either creating beautiful pieces of glass art or reading. She is an animal lover and dreams of having a small hobby farm where she can raise goats, chickens and organic veggies. In the meantime, she lives in town with her two cats, awesome husband, and two college-aged kids.

    This was a cute, short little book. I loved watching these two fall easily into a relationship once they got past their initial meeting. To say they got off to a rocky start is an understatement.

    Ripley doesn't know how much things have changed since he was kicked out at 18 for being gay. He assumes he's walking back to ranch full of bigots, when really, the ranch flourished as a queer positive environment.

    With it being on the shorter side, it was a little insta-lovey, but it works. I originally read the spin off series first so I know I'll see these characters again.

    So here's the thing I don't enjoy cowboy romances hardly ever. I'm not sure why. I just don't find them very enjoyable, but I have enjoyed everything from Jacki James so far and decided to give this a try. Well, I can honestly say I absolutely loved this book. Reed & Ripley are two souls who were put on this earth to be together. They just get each other and make the other better for it. Once Reed sees the real Ripley, he sees the beautiful boy who needs a strong Daddy to love and cherish him as he always should have been. It's a beautiful read that I can not recommend enough.

    This is a modern queer romance, the first book in the “Men of River Gorge” series and should be read in order. Riley returns home to the stipulation in his father’s will that he must stay for a year. Reed is the foreman of the ranch who has a stake in staying for the next year too. They find each other and the relationship that is perfect for them both. It was an enjoyable read with some light Daddy/boy kink.

    It was sweet you get to meet ripely who got kicked out of home at 18 for being gay and reed who is a cowboy who wants to buy the ranch. Ripley is a sassy beautiful boy while Reed is a daddy dom. Ripley has to stay at the ranch for a year in order to inherit the rest of his dads ranch while Reed is trying to control his feelings for Ripley. Overall the story was a bit too sweet there was no moment where the characters clashed and gave judgement toward their relationship. I wish as sassy and feminine Ripley was the author had gone more into details about him if he wore make up or even sexy laces. Reed was interesting for me for someone so dominant and a daddy he considers himself versatile but he’s a top in the story which makes perfect sense and maybe just in my view it seems right for the book. I love ripley and reed just wish I got to read them getting married
