3.9 out of 5 stars 48 ratings

Adam and Eve have spent their lives on the run, but when they become separated, their incredible abilities alone might not be enough to save them…

Cursed from birth with supernatural abilities, Adam and Eve have spent their lives looking over their shoulders. Using the tips their mother taught them, they've managed to spend long periods undetected, living semi-normal lives. But when their pursuers strike for the second time in three days, the twins are unprepared and unable to mount an effective escape.

Despite their disadvantage, Adam and Eve believe they can evade their pursuers once again. Then Adam's inability to leave an innocent behind leads to the twin's separation. Until they find each other again, neither sibling will contemplate disappearing.

But with their mysterious pursuers closing in, can they reunite in time, or as their mother always warned them it would, will their bond become their downfall?

Fire and Smoke is book one of six in the gripping Adam and Eve series of thriller novellas from Mark Ayre. Perfect for fans of Dean Koontz's Nameless, Harlan Coben and James Patterson

An avid writer since crafting a moving story of a penguin trying to find his way home (sadly no longer in print) when he was a mere six years old, Mark has started hundreds of novels and written millions of words.

Recently learning how to curb his imagination and actually get something done, he now writes character-driven suspense thrillers.

Like all great authors, he writes about himself in the third person, as though he has enough money to afford a publicist.

The concept was interesting, but there was a huge gap missing in this short book. I believe it is called a plot. I have read some very good books & series with children like them, that were not 90% destruct, kill, or destruct, again.

    This book was very disappointing!
The main characters weren't developed enough to be likable.
Their conversations and descriptions of events were too cryptic to understand what was happening.
I kept reading, hoping for some clarification, but no.

To hard not enough description of Adam and Eve, too hard to follow. Would not bother with the rest of this series.
