For Now, Not Forever (Rival Love Book 2) Kindle Edition
At some point, summer became my least favorite season. Three months of constant memories of the games we lost—the games I lost—before football starts again. Arlington University was supposed to be a fresh start. But infamy isn’t easily forgotten. Especially since my twin sister is still dating my biggest rival. A weekend getaway with some college buddies was supposed to be an escape from it all…until I found out Natalie Jacobs will be sleeping across the hall. Alleghany’s head cheerleader didn’t just celebrate each of my defeats—she literally led the chants against me. Staying away from her should be easy. Except…it’s not.
…while she was on the sidelines cheering for the other.
Spending the summer back in Alleghany, dealing with my parents’ problems, is the last place I want to be. I jump at the chance to visit the Cape and see some college friends. But the vacation takes an unexpected turn when I come face-to-face with Glenmont’s infamous former quarterback as soon as I arrive. Liam Stevens is the same serious rule-follower I watched shout orders on the field for four years. Sure, he’s nice to look at—especially shirtless—but the only thing Liam and I agree on is that the rivalry between our hometowns isn’t a surpassable boundary. And that if we did allow ourselves to cross lines, it would only be a summer fling. For now…not forever.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2022When the book first showed up on Kindle pre-order, I was unsure of the pairing of Liam & Natalie. I’m almost positive I love their story more than Maeve and Wes and I adored that book. Even have Kiss Now, Lie Later on Audible so I can listen anytime when the mood hits. Liam & Natalie’s pairing was not instalove and made sense in the progression of their relationship. With these two emotionally repressed people, afraid to let the other in - their secret interactions was a no judgement zone. Liam just seemed to know how to disarm Natalie’s defense mechanisms. Yes the story seems to parallel the way Kiss Now, Lie Later unfolded but it works. CW Farnsworth is one of my favorite authors and I always wait impatiently for her next book. I really hope there are more Audible versions of her books coming. Netflix or any streaming services should be eyeing her books up. So many meh books have been made into decent movies (Purple Hearts). Most of this author’s books would be ideal for the small screen!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 18, 2023I shouldn’t be, but at this point, I’m continuously blown away but the caliber of CWF’s writing. She writes such mature relations, such complex characters that your totally invested in the story. This held true here.
This was a great one.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2024I liked Maeve and Wes but Natalie and Liam wormed their way into my heart. The black cat/golden retriever opposites attract plot has never been done better. The way they bantered and grew to care for one another was beautifully done. I want to know more about them and their future. I want to know if they got a dog, about Natalie’s parents, about the dynamics with Wes and Maeve as they got older. I love this couple and could see them lasting forever. This will be one of my favorite books and a comfort read going forward.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2022But I didn’t love it as much as kiss now, lie later. I was happy to read it though and thought it was a cute story.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2023Like how it was a love hate relationship and turned into a forever relationship. Her stories are great! Must read!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2025This story was so great. I’ll admit that after the first book I wasn’t sure if I would like Liam’s story because I’ll say outright that he was a bit of a prick when Maeve approached him about her relationship with Wes. I think this book brought more light onto who he was and how he was feeling and I’m so glad I read it. I adored all the feels this book gave me and how they came into being more for each other.

For Now Not Forever is the second book in the Rival Love Series.
Although they're Rivals from Glenmont and Alleghany like in the first book,
this book has a different twist and is about Liam and Natalie.
Liam Stevens is the former QB in Glenmont and Natalie Jacobs is the former head cheerleader in Allegheny.
Liam and Natalie were destined to be enemies but as they spend more time together they both realize the rivalry between them becomes less important.
I loved watching their relationship grow from hooking up to seeing how much they really care about each other.
Their sweet connection and banter can't be beat!
Not only will you fall in love with their story, you'll also get a glimpse into Maeve and Westons story from Kiss now Lie Later!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2022I loved Liam's story more than his twin sister. Liam was more likeable than Wes too. Natalie and Liam's chemistry was also more believable than the previous couples.

Another fantastic CW Farnsworth book. She always writes so well - sweet but with well developed characters. Very nice to continue the first couples story as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great read from CW Farnsworth!
I didn’t know I needed a Liam and Natalie book until I read it. The Rival Love duet is just so, so good! Charlotte is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.
Picking up after Kiss Now, Lie Later, this book tells the story of Liam and Natalie, who are from rival towns. He’s a quarterback and she’s the cheer captain for the opposing team.
Enemies to lover is one of my favourite tropes and this book was fantastic.
I highly recommend!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good sports romance
You cant go wrong with any book from this author. Liam is a quarterback and things havent gone his way again as they lost to their rival town and their quarterback just happens to be dated his twin sister. Its in his face all time time and the two towns hate each other but someone accept his sister and Wes her boyfriend being a couple. Natalie lives in the rival town and there is an attraction when he goes to a weekend away with a friend. He cant stay away from her and guilt eats at him that she lives in the other town. He hates keeping it a secret. Secrets always get found out in the end though.
