Editorial Reviews
From the Author
Experience in doing something VS selling any service are two different things. Someone can have experience of 20 years, but if they don't know how to sell their service, they will struggle in freelancing. Experience alone can't get you jobs. No one will first care if you tell them that you have years of experience. They are first interested to know whether you can solve their problem and how.
The main point this book tries to teach is to focus on the client and project, not on yourself, which you should only do in the last few lines of your proposals.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2021I have worked with a lot of freelancers over the years with my agency and the ones that stood out to me were the responsive ones, the ones who came up with ideas or the ones who stepped up to the plate. Having a detailed scope of work and then the contract is vital. The key is the consistent follow up and maintaining the client. In our day and age, customer service seems to be lacking. This is such a great read and HIGHLY recommend it anyone wanting to grow their business or portfolio.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2021Great examples of how to write proposals when bidding on jobs. I’m new to freelancing and definitely take what I’ve learned from this book and apply it.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2021The book takes about 25 minutes to read. I purchased it because Faraz is a fellow freelancer and I believe in supporting each other in this business. There are a few things that Faraz hits on that are worth remembering when it comes to freelancing in the web development world. One, proposals weigh heavier than portfolios. Your prospect only cares that you can fix their problem. Two, a well-crafted proposal will get you more clients than a generic template. You cannot simply say "yes, I can fix that." What makes you say that? Do you have proof? Do you have certifications from reputable institutions?
What takes away from my review is that in each of his proposals, Faraz leans heavily on his 5 years experience and credentialed certification. Obviously, those two things are going to make you stand out over someone who decided they wanted to build websites for a living and watched some YouTube videos over a 3 day weekend.
Bottom line. If you have no clue how to put a proposal together, then read the book. If you already have 5 years experience plus credentialed certifications, then you probably don't need this book as I doubt it would provide any new information for you.
Freelancing is hard, no matter what gurus will say. Keep at it, learn as you go, and you'll get to where you want to be.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 3, 2021Faraz is among the most talented people I’ve ever worked with. He’s trustworthy, clear, and always delivers top quality work. Anyone would be incredibly wise to listen to his counsel!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2021I bought this book because I've worked with Faraz very closely. Used to be an amazing developer but now is a great author too.
A good read for someone who is entering into the area of bidding on freelancing portals.

Not at all useful. I found it written horribly and very much lacking useful information. Recommend you do not buy this.
