About the authors
Ellen Anderson started life near Sedona, Arizona, surrounded by the most beautiful scenery the West has to offer, along with its intricate history and myriad legends. Her favorite memories are of camping out on the family property under the vast canopy of stars, listening to her father and grandfather tell stories. Eventually, Ellen began writing her own stories, mixing her up-close-and-personal western experiences with special characters who share her unique sense of fun and adventure.
When she met her handsome husband on a horse drive, her path to writing historical western romances was sealed.
Today, Ellen and her husband still do some work on the family ranch, and their children are following in the family tradition, helping care for the Anderson horses. In her spare time, Ellen enjoys photography, swimming, trying out unique historical recipes from scratch and exploring ghost towns in the family RV.
Katie Wyatt is 25% American Sioux Indian. Born and raised in Arizona, she has traveled and camped extensively through California, Arizona, Nevada, Mexico, and New Mexico. Looking at the incredible night sky and the giant Saguaro cacti, she has dreamed of what it would be like to live in the early pioneer times.
Spending time with a relative of the great Wyatt Earp, also named Wyatt Earp, Katie was mesmerized and inspired by the stories he told of bygone times. This historical interest in the old West became the inspiration for her Western romance novels.
Her books are a mixture of actual historical facts and events mixed with action and humor, challenges and adventures. The characters in Katie’s clean romance novels draw from her own experiences and are so real that they almost jump off the pages. You feel like you’re walking beside them through all the ups and downs of their lives. As the stories unfold, you’ll find yourself both laughing and crying. The endings will never fail to leave you feeling warm inside.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2020I couldn't put the Aspen Falls series down. Loved it! And what was wonderful was i didnt have to skip 20-30 pages of pornagraphic junk that a lot of writers use today to sell their books. This series is what reading is about! You get the series. Each book does not leave you in a cliff hanger mode. It's written so that you are caught up in the ups and downs of a family and a town, and how they survived back in 1870s.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2018As usual i really enjoyed reading these 2 short stories. They are full of romance & knowledge of life in the old west Since life is not only made of photos, I'm going to get into the game called "a reunion of friends." The idea is to see who reads a post without a picture. So, if you are reading this message, make a comment using a single word about how we met. After that, copy this message on your wall and I will also leave you a word. Please, don't leave a word and then not bother to copy the text. You'll ruin the fun..truly can't wait to see everyone's response...I think it will be interesting to see how we are all connected. I know my ring won't be huge but let's see what happens. I am starting a friendship ring. If you are my friend, press 'Like', comment "Hey" and copy this to your status. I know my ring won't be huge but let's see what happens. - Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2019This combination of Book 1 and 2 serve as a quick introduction to a German pioneer family settled into the foothills of the Rockies, the town built around them and the land when it was unspoiled by human need. This is more of a serial approach to story telling, not even long enough for a novella. It felt real and the characters had a depth and honesty well established in a very quick manner. Relaxing way to spend an hour, just too short for my taste.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2024I enjoy reading the Rachel viewed the outdoors around her even as she was struggling with her head aches and reminding herself that it could be just eye strain, but worrying about it just the same. Going to the doctor after falling and having to deal with the broken eyes and her sister's concern for her. Having Martin come back into her life, and going completely blind over night. Learning how to deal with the blindness with Martin's encouragement, and finally realizing her dream of getting married and having a family of her own.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2018Really a quick read and so very enjoyable. The characters are so unique I can't wait to hear each of their stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2020This is an Introduction and the first book in the series of New Beginnings (Angel Falls Book#1) short stories. I enjoyed these two short stories. It takes place in Angel Falls, Colorado, in the 1870's in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
The Hart family has four (almost) grown children, two boys and two girls living at home. The town is small but still growing with a close-knit community. The introduction was about family, their likes and dislikes, and their plans.
The first story was about the oldest girl, Rachael. Benjamin the oldest boy and Jason the youngest boy and the youngest girl Miriam. Also, with the town building up I can just imagine these will be some good stories. I have read a few books by these two authors, all good stories. These take place five years after the Civil War.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2019I was disappointed to find this wasn't a complete story. I thought I was getting the whole book. Some places the wrong word was used, & places where story was repetitive. When the heroine talked about her dream for her future & when she talked about William. Several times it was mentioned that he had just left Rachel with no warning. She doesn't talk as if she is totally in love with William either. Mentioning her vision & headache problem at least 3-4 times, m a's ybe more.

2.0 out of 5 stars Far too short.
No story, just an introduction to main characters and how they came to be living in Aspen Falls. Extremely disappointed. Will not pursue series.

3.0 out of 5 stars New Beginnings not happy
Not happy and not going to give it more stars.
Here is why, this is a half book! It’s like you take a short story and rip it into two or however many parts.
Well I’m not happy in the least.
First she thinks she has eye strain. Then her bo returns ...
not happy...
